1 ا للهُ شَهِيرٌ فِي يَهُوذا، وَاسْمُهُ عَظِيمٌ فِي إسْرائِيلَ.

In Judah God is known and renowned; His name is highly praised and is great in Israel.

2 ف ِي سالِيمَ خَيْمَتُهُ، وَعَلَى جَبَلِ صِهْيَوْنَ مَسكَنُهُ.

In Salem also is His tabernacle, and His dwelling place is in Zion.

3 ه ُناكَ كَسَّرَ السِّهامَ المُلتَهِبَةَ، وَالتُّرُوسَ وَسُيُوفَ الحَربِ. سِلاهْ

There He broke the bow’s flashing arrows, the shield, the sword, and the weapons of war. Selah!

4 ك ُنتَ بَهِيّاً وَمَجِيداً عَلَى سِلسِلَةِ الجِّبالِ الَّتِي ذُبِحَ عَلَيها كَثِيرُونَ.

Glorious and excellent are You from the mountains of prey.

5 ن ُهِبَ الجُنُودُ الأقوِياءُ وَهُمْ نائِمُونَ. وَلَمْ يَقْوَ أحَدٌ مِنْ أصْحابِ البَأسِ عَلَى أنْ يَرفَعَ يَداً.

The stouthearted are stripped of their spoil, they have slept the sleep; and none of the men of might could raise their hands.

6 ي َسقُطُ الحِصانُ وَراكِبُهُ كَما لَوْ كانُوا نِياماً عِندَما تَنتَهِرُهُمْ يا إلَهَ يَعْقُوبَ.

At Your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.

7 أ مّا أنْتَ فَمَهُوبٌ! لَيسَ مَنْ يَستَطِيعُ أنْ يَصْمُدَ أمامَ غَضَبِكَ الشَّدِيدِ.

You, even You, are to be feared! Who may stand in Your presence when once Your anger is roused?

8 م ِنَ السَّماءِ أعلَنتَ حُكمَكَ. الأرْضُ صَمَتَتْ خَوفاً

You caused sentence to be heard from heaven; the earth feared and was still—

9 ع ِندَما قامَ اللهُ لِيُصدِرَ حُكماً وَيَحمِيَ المَساكِينَ، وَالوُدَعاءَ فِي الأرْضِ.

When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek and oppressed of the earth. Selah!

10 ح َتَّى غَضَبُ النّاسِ يُمكِنُ أنْ يَجلِبَ المَدِيحَ لَكَ. وَالنّاجُونَ يُصْبِحُونَ أكْثَرَ قُوَّةٍ.

Surely the wrath of man shall praise You; the remainder of wrath shall You restrain and gird and arm Yourself with it.

11 أ َحضِرُوا جِزيَتَكُمْ أيَّتُها الأُمَمُ المُحِيطَةُ! أنذِرُوا نُذُوراً وَأَوفُوها لإلَهِكُمْ ، الإلَهِ الواجِبِ التَّوقِيرِ!

Vow and pay to the Lord your God; let all who are round about Him bring presents to Him Who ought to be feared.

12 ي ُرْعِبُ اللهُ القادَةَ العِظامَ. وَمُلُوكُ الأرْضِ يَخشُونَهُ.

He will cut off the spirit of princes; He is terrible to the kings of the earth.
