1 ل ا تُعطِنا نَحنُ، يا اللهُ ، الكَرامَةَ، فَهِيَ لَكَ، لَكَ وَحدَكَ المَجدُ، مِنْ أجلِ مَحَبَّتِكَ وَأمانَتِكَ.

Not to us, O Lord, not to us but to Your name give glory, for Your mercy and loving-kindness and for the sake of Your truth and faithfulness!

2 ك َيفَ تَقُولُ الأُمَمُ: «أينَ إلَهُكُمْ؟»

Why should the nations say, Where is now their God?

3 إ لَهُنا فِي السَّماءِ، يَفعَلُ ما يَشاءُ!

But our God is in heaven; He does whatever He pleases.

4 أ مّا أصْنامُهُمْ فَما هِيَ إلّا تَماثِيلُ صَنَعَتْها أيدِي بَشَرٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ وَفِضَّةٍ.

The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.

5 ل َها أفواهٌ، وَلا تَقدِرُ أنْ تَنطِقَ. لَها عُيُونٌ، وَلا تَقدِرُ أنْ تَرَى.

They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not;

6 ل َها آذانٌ، وَلا تَقدِرُ أنْ تَسْمَعَ. لَها أُنُوفٌ، وَلا تَقدِرُ أنْ تَشُمَّ.

They have ears, but they hear not; noses have they, but they smell not;

7 ل َها أيدٍ، وَلا تَقدِرُ أنْ تَلمِسَ. لَها أقدامٌ، وَلا تَقدِرُ أنْ تَمشِيَ. وَحَناجِرُها لا تَقدِرُ أنْ تَئِنَّ.

They have hands, but they handle not; feet have they, but they walk not; neither can they make a sound with their throats.

8 و َمَنْ يَصنَعُونَها وَيَتَّكِلُونَ عَلَيها سَرْعانَ ما يَصِيرُونَ مِثلَها.

They who make idols are like them; so are all who trust in and lean on them.

9 ا تَّكِلْ عَلَى اللهِ ، يا إسرائِيلُ. هُوَ يُعِينُهُمْ وَيَحمِيهُمْ.

O Israel, trust and take refuge in the Lord! He is their Help and their Shield.

10 ا تَّكِلُوا عَلَى اللهِ ، يا بَيتَ هارُونَ، هُوَ يُعِينُهُمْ وَيَحمِيهُمْ.

O house of Aaron, trust in and lean on the Lord! He is their Help and their Shield.

11 ي ا خائِفِي اللهَ ، اتَّكِلُوا عَلَى اللهِ. هُوَ يُعِينُهُمْ وَيَحمِيهُمْ.

You who fear the Lord, trust in and lean on the Lord! He is their Help and their Shield.

12 ا للهُ يَذكُرُنا وَسَيُبارِكُنا: سَيُبارِكُ بَيتَ إسرائِيلَ. سَيُبارِكُ بَيتَ هارُونَ.

The Lord has been mindful of us, He will bless us: He will bless the house of Israel, He will bless the house of Aaron,

13 س َيُبارِكُ مُتَّقِي اللهِ ، مِنَ الأقَلِّ شَأناً إلَى الأعظَمِ شَأناً.

He will bless those who reverently and worshipfully fear the Lord, both small and great.

14 ا للهُ سَيَظَلُّ يَكِيلُ بَرَكاتٍ عَلَيكُمْ، عَلَيكُمْ وَعَلَى أبنائِكُمْ.

May the Lord give you increase more and more, you and your children.

15 م ُبارَكُونَ أنتُمْ مِنَ اللهِ ، خالِقِ السَّماءِ وَالأرْضِ.

May you be blessed of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth!

16 ا لسَّماءُ هِيَ للهِ. أمّا الأرْضُ، فَأعطاها لَنا نَحنُ البَشَرَ.

The heavens are the Lord’s heavens, but the earth has He given to the children of men.

17 ا لأمواتُ الَّذِينَ يَهبِطُونَ إلَى عالَمِ الصَّمْتِ لا يُسَبِّحُونَ اللهَ.

The dead praise not the Lord, neither any who go down into silence.

18 أ مّا نَحنُ فَنُبارِكُ اللهَ مِنَ الآنَ وَإلَى الأبَدِ. هَلِّلُويا!

But we will bless (affectionately and gratefully praise) the Lord from this time forth and forever. Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)
