1 N ot to us, O Jehovah, not to us, But to Thy name give honour, For Thy kindness, for Thy truth.

Not to us, O Lord, not to us but to Your name give glory, for Your mercy and loving-kindness and for the sake of Your truth and faithfulness!

2 W hy do the nations say, `Where, pray, their God.

Why should the nations say, Where is now their God?

3 A nd our God in the heavens, All that He hath pleased He hath done.

But our God is in heaven; He does whatever He pleases.

4 T heir idols silver and gold, work of man's hands,

The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.

5 A mouth they have, and they speak not, Eyes they have, and they see not,

They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not;

6 E ars they have, and they hear not, A nose they have, and they smell not,

They have ears, but they hear not; noses have they, but they smell not;

7 T heir hands, but they handle not, Their feet, and they walk not;

They have hands, but they handle not; feet have they, but they walk not; neither can they make a sound with their throats.

8 N or do they mutter through their throat, Like them are their makers, Every one who is trusting in them.

They who make idols are like them; so are all who trust in and lean on them.

9 O Israel, trust in Jehovah, `Their help and their shield He.'

O Israel, trust and take refuge in the Lord! He is their Help and their Shield.

10 O house of Aaron, trust in Jehovah, `Their help and their shield He.'

O house of Aaron, trust in and lean on the Lord! He is their Help and their Shield.

11 Y e fearing Jehovah, trust in Jehovah, `Their help and their shield He.'

You who fear the Lord, trust in and lean on the Lord! He is their Help and their Shield.

12 J ehovah hath remembered us, He blesseth, He blesseth the house of Israel, He blesseth the house of Aaron,

The Lord has been mindful of us, He will bless us: He will bless the house of Israel, He will bless the house of Aaron,

13 H e blesseth those fearing Jehovah, The small with the great.

He will bless those who reverently and worshipfully fear the Lord, both small and great.

14 J ehovah addeth to you, to you, and to your sons.

May the Lord give you increase more and more, you and your children.

15 B lessed ye of Jehovah, maker of heaven and earth,

May you be blessed of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth!

16 T he heavens -- the heavens Jehovah's, And the earth He hath given to sons of men,

The heavens are the Lord’s heavens, but the earth has He given to the children of men.

17 T he dead praise not Jah, Nor any going down to silence.

The dead praise not the Lord, neither any who go down into silence.

18 A nd we, we bless Jah, From henceforth, and unto the age. Praise ye Jah!

But we will bless (affectionately and gratefully praise) the Lord from this time forth and forever. Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)
