1 ه َنِيئاً لِمَنْ يَعِيشُونَ فِي طَهارَةٍ، الَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ تَعالِيمَ اللهِ.

Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are the undefiled (the upright, truly sincere, and blameless) in the way, who walk (order their conduct and conversation) in the law of the Lord (the whole of God’s revealed will).

2 ه َنِيئاً لِمَنْ يَحفَظُونَ وَصاياهُ، وَيَطلُبُونَهُ مِنْ كُلِّ قُلُوبِهِمْ.

Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are they who keep His testimonies, and who seek, inquire for and of Him and crave Him with the whole heart.

3 ل ا يَصنَعُونَ الشَّرَّ أبَداً. بَلْ يَتَّبِعُونَ طُرُقَهُ.

Yes, they do no unrighteousness; they walk in His ways.

4 أ عطَيتَنا وَصاياكَ، وَأمَرتَنا بِأنْ نَحفَظَها بِدِقَّةٍ.

You have commanded us to keep Your precepts, that we should observe them diligently.

5 آ هِ، لَيتَنِي كُنتُ أكثَرَ ثَباتاً فِي حِفظِ شَرائِعِكَ.

Oh, that my ways were directed and established to observe Your statutes!

6 ح َينَئِذٍ لا أخْجَلُ بَلْ أتَأمَّلُ جَميعَ وَصاياكَ.

Then shall I not be put to shame when I have respect to all Your commandments.

7 م ِنْ قَلبٍ نَقِيٍّ أحمَدُكَ لأنَّكَ عَلَّمتَنِي أحكامَكَ المُنصِفَةَ.

I will praise and give thanks to You with uprightness of heart when I learn Your righteous judgments.

8 ل ا تَترُكنِي طَوِيلاً لأنِّي أُطِيعُ شَرائِعَكَ حَقّاً. — ب —

I will keep Your statutes; O forsake me not utterly.

9 ك َيفَ يُنَقِّي الشّابُّ نَفسَهُ؟ بِحِفْظِهِ وَصاياكَ.

How shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed and keeping watch according to Your word.

10 م ِنْ كُلِّ قَلبِي أطلُبُكَ، فَاحفَظْنِي مِنْ أنْ أضِلَّ عَنْ وَصاياكَ.

With my whole heart have I sought You, inquiring for and of You and yearning for You; Oh, let me not wander or step aside from Your commandments.

11 خ َزَّنتُ كَلامَكَ فِي قَلبِي لِئَلّا أُخطِئَ إلَيكَ.

Your word have I laid up in my heart, that I might not sin against You.

12 ت َبارَكْ، يا اللهُ. عَلِّمْنِي شَرائِعَكَ.

Blessed are You, O Lord; teach me Your statutes.

13 ب ِشَفَتَيَّ أُخبِرُ بِكُلِّ الأحكامِ الخارِجَةِ مِنْ فَمِكَ.

With my lips have I declared and recounted all the ordinances of Your mouth.

14 ب ِوَصايا عَهدِكَ أُسَرُّ، كَمَنْ يَبتَهِجُ بِثَروَةٍ عَظِيمَةٍ.

I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies as much as in all riches.

15 أ حكامُكَ أتَأمَّلُها وَطُرُقُكَ بِحِرصٍ أفحَصُها.

I will meditate on Your precepts and have respect to Your ways.

16 ش َرائِعُكَ لَذَّتِي، وَلا أنْسَى كَلامَكَ أبَداً. — ج —

I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.

17 ك افِئْ عَبدَكَ بِسَخاءٍ، فَأحيا وَأحفَظَ وَصاياكَ.

Deal bountifully with Your servant, that I may live; and I will observe Your word.

18 ا فتَحْ عَينَيَّ حَتَّى أرَى عَجائِبَ تَعالِيمِكَ.

Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of Your law.

19 غ َرِيبٌ أنا فِي هَذِهِ الأرْضِ، فَلا تُخْفِ وَصاياكَ عَنِّي.

I am a stranger and a temporary resident on the earth; hide not Your commandments from me.

20 ت َلتَهِبُ نَفسِي شَوقاً إلَى أحكامِ شَرِيعَتِكَ فِي كُلِّ حِينٍ.

My heart is breaking with the longing that it has for Your ordinances and judgments at all times.

21 أ نتَ تُوَبِّخُ المُتَكَبِّرِينَ الَّذِينَ يَضِلُّونَ عَنْ وَصاياكَ. مَلعُونُونَ هُمْ!

You rebuke the proud and arrogant, the accursed ones, who err and wander from Your commandments.

22 ح َفِظْتُ عَهدَكَ، فَانزِعْ عَنِّي الهُزءَ وَالازدِراءَ.

Take away from me reproach and contempt, for I keep Your testimonies.

23 ق ادَةٌ قَدْ يَجلِسُونَ لِيَتَآمَرُوا عَلَيَّ، وَأنا عَبدَكَ أتَامَّلُ فِي أحكامِكَ.

Princes also sat and talked against me, but Your servant meditated on Your statutes.

24 أ تَلَذَّذُ بِوَصايا عَهدِكَ. تَعالِيمُكَ هِيَ نَصائِحِي. — د —

Your testimonies also are my delight and my counselors.

25 أ مّا الآنَ، فَأنا عَلَى وَشَكِ المَوتِ، فَأحْيِنِي كَوَعدِكَ.

My earthly life cleaves to the dust; revive and stimulate me according to Your word!

26 ل َكَ اعتَرَفتُ بِطُرُقِي فَاسْتَجَبْتَ. فَعَلِّمنِي أحكامَكَ.

I have declared my ways and opened my griefs to You, and You listened to me; teach me Your statutes.

27 ف َهِّمْنِي كَيفَ أحفَظُ وَصاياكَ، وَسَأتَأمَّلُ فِي أعْمالِكَ العَجِيبَةِ.

Make me understand the way of Your precepts; so shall I meditate on and talk of Your wondrous works.

28 م ُتعَبٌ وَكَئِيبٌ أنا، فَارفَعْنِي بِحَسَبِ وَعدِكَ.

My life dissolves and weeps itself away for heaviness; raise me up and strengthen me according to Your word.

29 م ِنَ الطُّرُقِ المُخادِعَةِ احفَظْنِي، وَأنعِمْ عَلَيَّ بِشَرِيعَتِكَ.

Remove from me the way of falsehood and unfaithfulness, and graciously impart Your law to me.

30 ا ختَرتُ أنْ أكُونَ وَفِيّاً لَكَ، أتَفَحَّصُ بِدِقَّةٍ أحكامَكَ.

I have chosen the way of truth and faithfulness; Your ordinances have I set before me.

31 ب ِعَهدِكَ تَعَلَّقتُ، يا اللهُ ، فَلا تُذِلَّنِي!

I cleave to Your testimonies; O Lord, put me not to shame!

32 ط اعَةُ وَصاياكَ مُتعَتِي لأنَّكَ تُفَرِّحُ قَلبِي! — ه —

I will run the way of Your commandments, when You give me a heart that is willing.

33 ي ا اللهُ ، عَلِّمْنِي شَرائِعَكَ وَبِثَباتٍ سَأتبَعُها.

Teach me, O Lord, the way of Your statutes, and I will keep it to the end.

34 أ عطِنِي فَهماً لأُطِيعَ تَعالِيمَكَ، لِكَي أتبَعَها مِنَ القَلبِ.

Give me understanding, that I may keep Your law; yes, I will observe it with my whole heart.

35 ا هدِنِي عَبرَ سُبُلِ وَصاياكَ لأنِّي بِها أتَلَذَّذُ.

Make me go in the path of Your commandments, for in them do I delight.

36 ح َوِّلْ قَلبِي إلَى وَصايا عَهدِكَ، لا إلَى الغِنَى وَالمَكْسَبِ.

Incline my heart to Your testimonies and not to covetousness (robbery, sensuality, unworthy riches).

37 ح َوِّلْ عَينَيَّ عَنِ التَّوافِهِ. أعِنِّي فَأحيا كَما تُرِيدُ.

Turn away my eyes from beholding vanity (idols and idolatry); and restore me to vigorous life and health in Your ways.

38 ا حفَظْ وُعُودَكَ لِي، أنا عَبدَكَ، تِلكَ الوُعُودَ الَّتِي تَجْعَلُ النّاسَ يُوَقِّرُونَكَ.

Establish Your word and confirm Your promise to Your servant, which is for those who reverently fear and devotedly worship You.

39 ا نزَعِ العارَ الَّذِي أخشاهُ، لأنَّ أحكامَ شَرِيعَتِكَ صالِحَةٌ.

Turn away my reproach which I fear and dread, for Your ordinances are good.

40 ه ا أنا أتُوقُ لِشَرائِعِكَ، فَأرِنِي مَراحِمَكَ لِكَي أحيا! — و —

Behold, I long for Your precepts; in Your righteousness give me renewed life.

41 أ رِنِي يا اللهُ رَحمَتَكَ وَمَحَبَّتَكَ. أنقِذنِي كَوَعدِكَ.

Let Your mercy and loving-kindness come also to me, O Lord, even Your salvation according to Your promise;

42 ع ِندَئِذٍ سَأُجاوِبُ الَّذِينَ يُعيِّرُونَنِي، لأنِّي بِكَلامِكَ أثِقُ!

Then shall I have an answer for those who taunt and reproach me, for I lean on, rely on, and trust in Your word.

43 أ عِنِّي فَأتَكَلَّمَ دَوماً بِحَقِّ كَلِمَتِكَ، فَإنِّي عَلَى أحكامِكَ مُتَوَكِّلٌ.

And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth, for I hope in Your ordinances.

44 إ لَى الأبَدِ وَالدَّهرِ سَأتَّبِعُ أحكامَكَ.

I will keep Your law continually, forever and ever.

45 ل أنِّي فِي رُحْبٍ سَأحيا، لأنِّي أسعَى إلَى حِفظِ أحكامِكَ.

And I will walk at liberty and at ease, for I have sought and inquired for Your precepts.

46 س َأُحَدِّثُ مُلُوكاً بِعَهدِكَ بِجَسارَةٍ وَبِلا خَجَلٍ.

I will speak of Your testimonies also before kings and will not be put to shame.

47 و َبِوَصاياكَ الَّتِي أُحِبُّ سَأتَلَذَّذُ.

For I will delight myself in Your commandments, which I love.

48 أ قسَمْتُ عَلَى الوَلاءِ لِوَصاياكَ الَّتِي أُحِبُّ، وَسَأتَفَكَّرُ فِي شَرائِعِكَ. — ز —

My hands also will I lift up to Your commandments, which I love, and I will meditate on Your statutes.

49 ا ذكُرْ وَعدَكَ لِي، أنا عَبدَكَ، فَلِي بِهِ رَجاءٌ.

Remember the word and promise to Your servant, in which You have caused me to hope.

50 ف ِي مُعاناتِي، هَذِهِ هِيَ تَعزِيَتِي. وُعُودُكَ تُحيِينِي!

This is my comfort and consolation in my affliction: that Your word has revived me and given me life.

51 ا لمُتَكَبِّرُونَ سَخِرُوا بِي كَثِيراً، لَكِنِّي لا أنْحَرِفُ عَنْ وَصاياكَ أبَداً.

The proud have had me greatly in derision, yet have I not declined in my interest in or turned aside from Your law.

52 أ حكامُكَ القَدِيمَةُ، يا اللهُ ، أذكُرُها، فَأتَعَزَّى.

When I have recalled Your ordinances from of old, O Lord, I have taken comfort.

53 ي ُخِيفُنِي أُولَئِكَ الأشرارُ، الَّذِينَ تَرَكُوا تَعالِيمَكَ.

Burning indignation, terror, and sadness seize upon me because of the wicked, who forsake Your law.

54 ك َالمُوسِيقَى فِي بَيتِي هِيَ شَرائِعُكَ.

Your statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage.

55 ف ِي اللَّيلِ أتَذَكَّرُ اسْمَكَ يا اللهُ ، وَشَرِيعَتَكَ أحفَظُ.

I have remembered Your name, O Lord, in the night, and I have observed Your law.

56 ي َحدُثُ هَذا لِي، لأنِّي أحفَظُ أحكامَكَ. — ح —

This I have had: that I have kept Your precepts.

57 أ نتَ نَصِيبِي يا اللهُ. لِذا صَمَّمتُ أنْ أُطِيعَ وَصاياكَ.

You are my portion, O Lord; I have promised to keep Your words.

58 ب ِكُلِّ كَيانِي أشتَهِي أنْ أخدِمَكَ، فَارحَمْنِي كَوَعدِكَ.

I entreated Your favor with my whole heart; be merciful and gracious to me according to Your promise.

59 ت َأمَّلتُ خَطَواتِي، لِكَي أُعِيدَها إلَى شَرائِعِكَ.

I considered my ways; I turned my feet to Your testimonies.

60 س ارَعتُ إلَى حِفظِ وَصاياكَ وَلَمْ أُبطِئْ.

I made haste and delayed not to keep Your commandments.

61 م َصائِدُ الأشرارِ تَتَرَبَّصُ بِي، لَكِنِّي لا أنسَى أبَداً تَعالِيمَكَ.

Though the cords of the wicked have enclosed and ensnared me, I have not forgotten Your law.

62 ف ِي مُنتَصَفِ اللَّيلِ أصحُو، وَأنهَضُ لأشكُرَكَ عَلَى عَدلِ أحكامِكَ.

At midnight I will rise to give thanks to You because of Your righteous ordinances.

63 ص َدِيقٌ أنا لِكُلِّ عابِدِيكَ الَّذِيِنَ يَهابُونَكَ، صَدِيقٌ لِكُلِّ الَّذِينَ يَحفَظُونَ وَصاياكَ.

I am a companion of all those who fear, revere, and worship You, and of those who observe and give heed to Your precepts.

64 ر َحمَتُكَ، يا اللهُ ، تَملأُ الأرْضَ. عَلِّمْنِي شَرائِعَكَ. — ط —

The earth, O Lord, is full of Your mercy and loving-kindness; teach me Your statutes.

65 ك ُنْتَ، يا اللهُ ، كَرِيماً مَعَ عَبدِكَ، تَماماً كَوَعدِكَ.

You have dealt well with Your servant, O Lord, according to Your promise.

66 ع َلِّمْنِي التَّعَقُّلَ وَالمَعرِفَةَ، لأنِّي بِوَصاياكَ أثِقُ.

Teach me good judgment, wise and right discernment, and knowledge, for I have believed (trusted, relied on, and clung to) Your commandments.

67 ف َقَبلَ أنْ أعانيَ مِنَ الذُلِّ، كُنْتُ قَدْ تِهْتُ عَنْكَ. أمّا الآنَ فَسأُطيعُ كَلامَكَ.

Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now Your word do I keep.

68 ك َرِيمٌ أنتَ وَصانِعٌ خَيْراً مَعَ النّاسِ، فَعَلِّمنِي وَصاياكَ.

You are good and kind and do good; teach me Your statutes.

69 ا لمُتَفاخِرُونَ حاكُوا حَولِي كَذِباً، غَيرَ أنِّي حَفِظتُ وَصاياكَ مِنَ القَلبِ.

The arrogant and godless have put together a lie against me, but I will keep Your precepts with my whole heart.

70 أ غبِياءُ هُمْ! أمّا أنا فَأتَلَذَّذُ بِتَعالِيمِكَ.

Their hearts are as fat as grease, but I delight in Your law.

71 ح َسَنٌ أنِّنَي تَذَلَّلْتُ، إذْ تَعَلَّمتُ شَرائِعَكَ.

It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I might learn Your statutes.

72 ص الِحَةٌ هِيَ تَعالِيمُكَ لِي. هِيَ أثمَنُ مِنْ ألفِ قِطعَةٍ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ وَالفِضَّةِ. — ي —

The law from Your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver pieces.

73 ي َداكَ صَنَعَتانِي وَهُما تَسنِدانِنِي. أعِنِّي فَأتَعَلَّمَ وَأفهَمَ وَصاياكَ.

Your hands have made me, cunningly fashioned and established me; give me understanding, that I may learn Your commandments.

74 خ ائِفُوكَ يَرَونَنِي فَيَفرَحُونَ، لأنِّي عَلَى كَلِمَتِكَ أتَّكِلُ.

Those who reverently and worshipfully fear You will see me and be glad, because I have hoped in Your word and tarried for it.

75 ي َقِينِي، يا اللهُ ، أنَّ أحكامَكَ مُنصِفَةٌ، وَأنَّ عِقابَكَ لِي كانَ صَواباً.

I know, O Lord, that Your judgments are right and righteous, and that in faithfulness You have afflicted me.

76 أ مّا الآنَ فَعَزِّنِي بِرَحمَتِكَ. كَما وَعَدتَ عَبدَكَ.

Let, I pray You, Your merciful kindness and steadfast love be for my comfort, according to Your promise to Your servant.

77 ل ِتُقابِلْنِي رَحمَتُكَ فَأحيا فَأنا أتَلَذَّذُ بِتَعالِيمِكَ.

Let Your tender mercy and loving-kindness come to me that I may live, for Your law is my delight!

78 ل ِيُخزَ هَؤُلاءِ المُنتَفِخُونَ لأنَّهُمْ ظُلماً اتَّهَمُونِي. أمّا أنا فَتَأمَّلتُ فَرائِضَكَ.

Let the proud be put to shame, for they dealt perversely with me without a cause; but I will meditate on Your precepts.

79 ل ِيتَ عابِدِيكَ وَعارِفِي عَهدِكَ يَرجِعُونَ إلَيَّ.

Let those who reverently and worshipfully fear You turn to me, and those who have known Your testimonies.

80 أ عِنِّي فَأُخْلِصَ لِشَرائِعِكَ، فَلا أُخزَى أبَداً. — ك —

Let my heart be sound (sincere and wholehearted and blameless) in Your statutes, that I may not be put to shame.

81 أ تَحَرَّقُ شَوقاً لِخَلاصِكَ. مُنتَظِرٌ أنا واضِعاً فِي كَلامِكَ رَجائِي!

My soul languishes and grows faint for Your salvation, but I hope in Your word.

82 ك َلَّتْ عَينايَ انتِظاراً لأمرِكَ، فَمَتَى سَتُعَزِّينِي؟

My eyes fail, watching for Your promise. I say, When will You comfort me?

83 ح َتَّى عِندَما أُصبِحُ عَجُوزاً كَإناءِ خَمرٍ قَدِيمٍ عَلَى كَوْمَةِ قُمامَةٍ، لَنْ أنسَى شَرائِعَكَ.

For I have become like a bottle in the smoke, yet do I not forget Your statutes.

84 ح َتَّى مَتَى يَحيا عَبدُكَ قَبلَ أنْ تَقتَصَّ مِنْ مُضطَهِدِيَّ؟

How many are the days of Your servant ? When will You judge those who pursue and persecute me?

85 ا لمُتَغَطرِسُونَ أقامُوا لِي كَمائِنَ. عَلَى نَقِيضِ شَرِيعَتِكَ تَصَرَّفُوا.

The godless and arrogant have dug pitfalls for me, men who do not conform to Your law.

86 ا ضطَهَدُونِي بِلا سَبَبٍ. كُلُّ وَصاياكَ يُعتَمَدُ عَلَيها، فَأعِنِّي يا اللهُ!

All Your commandments are faithful and sure. pursue and persecute me with falsehood; help me!

87 ك ادَ هَؤُلاءِ أنْ يُمِيتُونِي، وَأنا ما تَوَقَّفتُ يَوماً عَنْ طاعَةِ وَصاياكَ.

They had almost consumed me upon earth, but I forsook not Your precepts.

88 أ حيِنِي بِرَحمَتِكَ، فَأحفَظَ الوَصايا الَّتِي أعطَيتَها. — ل —

According to Your steadfast love give life to me; then I will keep the testimony of Your mouth.

89 إ لَى الأبَدِ سَتَثبُتُ كَلِمَتُكَ فِي السَّماءِ، يا اللهُ.

Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven.

90 ت َظَلُّ أمانَتُكَ جِيلاً بَعدَ جِيلٍ! فَقَدْ أسَّستَ الأرْضَ، وَها هِيَ قائِمَةٌ.

Your faithfulness is from generation to generation; You have established the earth, and it stands fast.

91 ك ُلُّ شَيءٍ قائِمٌ اليَومَ بِفَضلِ عَدلِكَ، لأنَّ كُلَّ شَيءٍ يَخدِمُكَ.

All are Your servants; therefore they continue this day according to Your ordinances.

92 ل َولا أنَّ تَعالِيمَكَ هِيَ مَسَرَّتِي لَهَلَكْتُ فِي آلامِي وَمُعاناتِي.

Unless Your law had been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction.

93 و َصاياكَ لَنْ أنساها لأنِّي بِسَبَبِها حَيِيتُ.

I will never forget Your precepts, for it is by them You have quickened me (granted me life).

94 ل َكَ أنا فَأنقِذنِي، لأنِّي أشتَهِي أنْ أُطِيعَ وَصاياكَ.

I am Yours, therefore save me; for I have sought (inquired of and for) Your precepts and required them.

95 أ مِلَ الأشرارُ أنْ يُهلِكُونِي، لَكِنِّي ظَلَلتُ أُحاوِلُ فَهمَ عَهدِكَ.

The wicked wait for me to destroy me, but I will consider Your testimonies.

96 أ درَكتُ أنَّ لِكُلِّ شَيءٍ حُدُودَهُ، أمّا وَصاياكَ فَلا حُدُودَ لَها! — م —

I have seen that everything has its limits and end; but Your commandment is exceedingly broad and extends without limits.

97 آ هِ كَمْ أُحِبُّ تَعالِيمَكَ، كُلَّ الوَقتِ أتَأمَّلُها.

Oh, how love I Your law! It is my meditation all the day.

98 و َصاياكَ تَجعَلُنِي أحكَمَ مِنْ أعدائِي لأنَّها دائِماً مَعِي.

You, through Your commandments, make me wiser than my enemies, for are ever before me.

99 ج َعَلْتَنِي أعقَلَ حَتَّى مِنْ كُلِّ مُعَلِّمِيَّ لأنِّي أتَفَكَّرُ فِي عَهدِكَ.

I have better understanding and deeper insight than all my teachers, because Your testimonies are my meditation.

100 أ حكَمُ مِنَ الشُّيُوخِ أنا لأنِّي أُطِيعُ وَصاياكَ.

I understand more than the aged, because I keep Your precepts.

101 م َنَعْتُ نَفسِي عَنْ عَمَلِ الشَّرِّ لِكَي أُطِيعَ وَصاياكَ.

I have restrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep Your word.

102 ل َمْ أنْحَرِفْ عَنْ أحْكامِكَ، لأنَّكَ عَلَّمتَنِي إيّاها!

I have not turned aside from Your ordinances, for You Yourself have taught me.

103 م ا أحلَى كَلامَكَ! أحلَى مِنَ العَسَلِ فِي فَمِي!

How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

104 ت َجعَلُنِي تَعالِيمُكَ حَكِيماً، لِذا أُبغِضُ الباطِلَ. — ن —

Through Your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way.

105 ك َمِصباحٍ لِقَدَمَيَّ كَلامُكَ، يُنِيرُ سَبِيلِي.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

106 ن َذَرتُ أنْ أحفَظَ أحكامَكَ المُنصِفَةَ، وَسَأُوفِي.

I have sworn and have confirmed it, that I will keep Your righteous ordinances.

107 ك َثِيراً ما عانَيتُ يا اللهُ ، فَأحْيِنِي بِحَسَبِ وَعدِكَ.

I am sorely afflicted; renew and quicken me, O Lord, according to Your word!

108 ا قبَلْ حَمدِيَ يا اللهُ ، وَشَرائِعَكَ عَلِّمنِي.

Accept, I beseech You, the freewill offerings of my mouth, O Lord, and teach me Your ordinances.

109 أ حمِلُ رُوحِي دائِماً عَلَى راحَتِي، لِكَي لا أنسَى أبَداً تَعالِيمَكَ.

My life is continually in my hand, yet I do not forget Your law.

110 ن َصَبَ الأشرارُ لِي مَصائِدَ، لَكِنِّي لَمْ أعْصِ وَصاياكَ.

The wicked have laid a snare for me, yet I do not stray from Your precepts.

111 إ لَى الأبَدِ سَأتَّبِعُ عَهدَكَ، لأنِّي أتَلَذَّذُ بِهِ.

Your testimonies have I taken as a heritage forever, for they are the rejoicing of my heart.

112 س َأُكَرِّسُ قَلبِي عَلَى الدَّوامِ لِطاعَةِ شَرائِعِكَ حَتَّى النِّهايَةِ! — س —

I have inclined my heart to perform Your statutes forever, even to the end.

113 أ َكْرَهُ أفكارَ المُتَقَلقِلِينَ. أمّا تَعالِيمُكَ فَأُحِبُّها.

I hate the thoughts of undecided, double-minded people, but Your law do I love.

114 س ِتْرِي أًنتَ وَتُرسِي، بِكَلامِكَ أثِقُ.

You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in Your word.

115 ا بتَعِدُوا عَنِّي أيُّها الأشرارُ فَأحفَظَ وَصايا إلَهِي.

Depart from me, you evildoers, that I may keep the commandments of my God.

116 أ سْنِدْنِي حَسَبَ وَعدِكَ فَأحيا، وَلا تَخذِلنِي فِي آمالِي.

Uphold me according to Your promise, that I may live; and let me not be put to shame in my hope!

117 أ سْنِدْنِي فَأَنجُوَ، وَألتَزِمَ بِشَرائِعِكَ كُلَّ حَياتِي.

Hold me up, that I may be safe and have regard for Your statutes continually!

118 ت َرفُضُ الَّذِينَ يُضِلُّونَ عَنْ شَرائِعِكَ وَتُظهِرُ خِداعَهُمْ.

You spurn and set at nought all those who stray from Your statutes, for their own lying deceives them and their tricks are in vain.

119 أ نتَ تَنبُذُ كُلَّ أشْرارِ الأرْضِ كَالنِّفايَةِ. لِذا أُحِبُّ وَصايا عَهدِكَ.

You put away and count as dross all the wicked of the earth; therefore I love Your testimonies.

120 ج ِسْمِي يَرتَعِدُ خَوفاً، فَأنا أخافُ وَأُوَقِّرُ أحكامَكَ. — ع —

My flesh trembles and shudders for fear and reverential, worshipful awe of You, and I am afraid and in dread of Your judgments.

121 ع ادِلاً وَمُنصِفاً كُنتُ، فَلا تَترُكْنِي فِي أيدِي ظالِمِيَّ.

I have done justice and righteousness; leave me not to those who would oppress me.

122 ا ضْمَنْ خَيْرَ عَبْدِكَ. لا تَسمَحْ للمُتَغَطرِسِينَ بِأنْ يَظلِمُونِي.

Be surety for Your servant for good; let not the proud oppress me.

123 ك َلَّتْ عَينايَ مِنِ انتِظارِ خَلاصِكَ وَانتِظارِ وَعدِكَ البارِّ.

My eyes fail, watching for Your salvation and for the fulfillment of Your righteous promise.

124 ع امِلْ عَبدَكَ حَسَبَ رَحْمَتِكَ، وَشَرائِعَكَ عَلِّمْنِي.

Deal with Your servant according to Your mercy and loving-kindness, and teach me Your statutes.

125 ع َبدُكَ أنا، فَأعِنِّي عَلَى الفَهمِ لأعرِفَ عَهدَكَ.

I am Your servant; give me understanding (discernment and comprehension), that I may know (discern and be familiar with the character of) Your testimonies.

126 آ نَ لَكَ أنْ تَفعَلَ شَيئاً يا اللهُ ، لأنَّ الشَّعبَ يَكسِرُونَ شَرِيعَتَكَ.

It is time for the Lord to act; they have frustrated Your law.

127 ل ِهَذا السَّبَبِ، أُحِبُّ وَصاياكَ. أكثَرَ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ وَالفِضَّةِ.

Therefore I love Your commandments more than gold, yes, more than refined gold.

128 ل ِهَذا أُطِيعُ كُلَّ تَعالِيمِكَ، وَأُبغِضُ طُرُقَ الكَذِبِ. — ف —

Therefore I esteem as right all, yes, all Your precepts; I hate every false way.

129 ع َجِيبٌ هُوَ عَهدُكَ، لِهَذا أحفَظُ كُلَّ وَصاياهُ.

Your testimonies are wonderful; therefore my self keeps them.

130 ك َبابِ نُورٍ مَفتُوحٍ يُنِيرُ كَلامُكَ حَتَّى البُسَطاءُ يَفْهَمُونَهُ.

The entrance and unfolding of Your words give light; their unfolding gives understanding (discernment and comprehension) to the simple.

131 أ لهَثُ مُتَلَهِّفاً مُنتَظِراً أنْ أدرُسَ وَصاياكَ.

I opened my mouth and panted, for I longed for Your commandments.

132 ا نتَبِهْ لِي وَعَزِّنِي كَعادَتِكَ مَعَ الَّذِينَ يُحِبُّونَكَ.

Look upon me, be merciful unto me, and show me favor, as is Your way to those who love Your name.

133 ك َما وَعَدتَ يا اللهُ اهدِنِي وَلا تَسمَحْ لِلشَّرِّ بِأنْ يَسُودَ عَلَيَّ.

Establish my steps and direct them by Your word; let not any iniquity have dominion over me.

134 م ِنَ استِبدادِ النّاسِ خَلِّصْنِي، فَأُطِيعَ فَرائِضَكَ.

Deliver me from the oppression of man; so will I keep Your precepts.

135 أ شرِقْ بِنُورِ حَضرَتِكَ عَلَى خادِمِكَ، وَفَهِّمْنِي أحْكامَكَ.

Make Your face shine upon Your servant, and teach me Your statutes.

136 ج َداوِلُ دُمُوعٍ تَجرِي عَلَى وَجهِي لأنَّ شَعبَكَ لا يُطِيعُونَ تَعالِيمَكَ. — ص —

Streams of water run down my eyes, because men do not keep Your law.

137 أ نتَ يا اللهُ بارٌّ، وَأحكامُكَ مُنصِفَةٌ وَمُستَقِيمَةٌ.

righteous are You, O Lord, and upright are Your judgments and all expressions of Your will.

138 ا لعَهدُ الَّذِي قَطَعْتَهُ صالِحٌ وَجَدِيرٌ بِالثِّقَةِ.

You have commanded and appointed Your testimonies in righteousness and in great faithfulness.

139 ا شتَعَلْتُ غَيرَةً لأنَّ أعدائِي نَسُوا كَلامَكَ.

My zeal has consumed me and cut me off, because my adversaries have forgotten Your words.

140 ق َدْ جَرَّبْتُ كَلامَكَ، وَعَبدُكَ أحَبَّهُ كَثِيراً.

Your word is very pure (tried and well refined); therefore Your servant loves it.

141 ص َغِيرٌ أنا، وَرُبَّما الآخَرُونَ لا يَحتَرِمُونَنِي، لَكِنِّي لا أنسَى أبَداً وَصاياكَ.

I am small (insignificant) and despised, but I do not forget Your precepts.

142 خ الِدٌ هٌوَ بِرُّكَ، وَتَعالِيمُكَ حَقَّةٌ وَمَوثُوقَةٌ.

Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and Your law is truth.

143 ح َتَّى لَو لاقَتنِي مَصائِبُ وَضِيقاتٌ، فَسَأظَلُّ أجِدُ فِي وَصاياكَ مَسَرَّتِي.

Trouble and anguish have found and taken hold on me, yet Your commandments are my delight.

144 ع ُهُودُكَ صالِحَةٌ وَمُنصِفَةٌ إلَى الأبَدِ. أعِنِّي عَلَى فَهمِها فَأحيا. — ق —

Your righteous testimonies are everlasting and Your decrees are binding to eternity; give me understanding and I shall live.

145 ش َرائِعُكَ أحفَظُها يا اللهُ. مِنْ كُلِّ قَلبِي دَعَوتُ، فَاسْتَجِبْ لِي!

I cried with my whole heart; hear me, O Lord; I will keep Your statutes.

146 د َعَوتُكَ إلَى عَونِي فَأنقِذْنِي، لِكَي أحفَظَ عَهدَكَ.

I cried to You; save me, that I may keep Your testimonies.

147 ب َكَّرْتُ لِلصَّلاةِ إلَيكَ، عَلَى كَلِمَتِكَ أعتَمِدُ.

I anticipated the dawning of the morning and cried; I hoped in Your word.

148 ب اكِراً صَحَوْتُ قَبلَ الفَجرِ، لِكَي أتَأمَّلَ كَلِمَتَكَ.

My eyes anticipate the night watches and I am awake before the cry of the watchman, that I may meditate on Your word.

149 ا ستَمِعْ إلَيَّ حَسَبَ مَحَبَّتِكَ، وَبِعَدلِكَ أحيِنِي يا اللهُ.

Hear my voice according to Your steadfast love; O Lord, quicken me and give me life according to Your decrees.

150 ا لأشرارُ المُتَآمِرُونَ يَدنُونَ، عَنْ تَعالِيمِكَ ابتَعَدُوا.

They draw near who follow after wrong thinking and persecute me with wickedness; they are far from Your law.

151 أ مّا أنتَ، يا اللهُ ، فَقَرِيبٌ وَوَصاياكَ حَقَّةٌ وَمَوثُوقَةٌ.

You are near, O Lord, and all Your commandments are truth.

152 و َأنا تَعَلَّمتُ مُنذُ زَمَنٍ بَعِيدٍ عَنْ شَهاداتِكَ، أنَّكَ إلَى الأبَدِ تَحفَظُها. — ر —

Of old have I known Your testimonies, and for a long time, that You have founded them forever.

153 ا نظُرْ إلَى مُعاناتِي وَأنقِذْنِي، لأنِّي لَمْ أنسَ تَعالِيمَكَ.

Consider my affliction and deliver me, for I do not forget Your law.

154 ح ارِبْ حَربِي وَافدِنِي. أَحيِنِي بِحَسَبِ كَلِمَتِكَ.

Plead my cause and redeem me; revive me and give me life according to Your word.

155 ب َعِيدٌ هُوَ الخَلاصُ عَنِ الأشرارِ لأنَّهُمْ لا يُحاوِلُونَ حَتَّى أنْ يُطِيعُوا شَرائِعَكَ.

Salvation is far from the wicked, for they seek not nor hunger for Your statutes.

156 ع َظِيمَةٌ هِيَ مَراحِمُكَ يا اللهُ ، فَأحْيِنِي بِعَدلِكَ.

Great are Your tender mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord; give me life according to Your ordinances.

157 أ عداءٌ كَثِيرُونَ يَضطَهِدُونَنِي، أمّا أنا فَلَمْ أضِلَّ عَنْ عَهدِكَ.

Many are my persecutors and my adversaries, yet I do not swerve from Your testimonies.

158 أ رَى الخَوَنَةَ الَّذِينَ لا يَحفَظُونَ كَلِمَتَكَ، فَأرفُضُهُمْ!

I behold the treacherous and am grieved and loathe them, because they do not respect Your law.

159 ا نظُرْ كَمْ أحبَبتُ وَصاياكَ. فَأحْيِنِي حَسَبَ رَحمَتِكَ.

Consider how I love Your precepts; revive me and give life to me, O Lord, according to Your loving-kindness!

160 م ُنذُ البَدءِ كَلامُكَ يُتَّكَلُ عَلَيهِ، وَأحكامُكَ العادِلَةُ إلَى الأبَدِ مَوثُوقَةٌ! — ش —

The sum of Your word is truth; and every one of Your righteous decrees endures forever.

161 ب ِلا سَبَبٍ هاجَمَنِي قادَةٌ أقوِياءُ، أمّا أنا فَلا أخافُ إلّا وَصاياكَ.

Princes pursue and persecute me without cause, but my heart stands in awe of Your words.

162 ت ُفَرِّحُنِي كَلِمَتُكَ، كَما يَفرَحُ مَنْ وَجَدَ كَنْزاً عَظِيماً.

I rejoice at Your word as one who finds great spoil.

163 ا لأكاذِيبَ أُبغِضُها وَأحتَقِرُها، أمّا تَعالِيمُكَ فَأُحِبُّها.

I hate and abhor falsehood, but Your law do I love.

164 س َبعَ مَرّاتٍ فِي اليَومِ أُسَبِّحُكَ عَلَى أحكامِكَ المُنصِفَةِ.

Seven times a day and all day long do I praise You because of Your righteous decrees.

165 ي َنعَمُ مُحِبُّو تَعالِيمِكَ بِسَلامٍ عَظِيمٍ، وَما مِنْ شَيءٍ يَهزِمُهُمْ.

Great peace have they who love Your law; nothing shall offend them or make them stumble.

166 خ َلاصَكَ، يا اللهُ ، أنتَظِرُ، وَبِما أمَرْتَ أعمَلُ.

I am hoping and waiting for Your salvation, O Lord, and I do Your commandments.

167 ع َهدَكَ حَفِظتُهُ، وَأنا كَثِيراً أُحِبُّهُ.

Your testimonies have I kept; I love them exceedingly!

168 ح َفِظتُ وَصاياكَ وَعَهدَكَ، وَها حَياتِي مَكشُوفَةٌ أمامَكَ. — ت —

I have observed Your precepts and Your testimonies, for all my ways are before You.

169 ل َيتَكَ، يا اللهُ ، تَنتَبِهُ إلَى تَرنِيمَتِي الفَرِحَةِ. أعطِنِي فَهماً كَوَعدِكَ.

Let my mournful cry and supplication come before You, O Lord; give me understanding (discernment and comprehension) according to Your word.

170 ل َيتَكَ تَنتَبِهُ إلَى صَلاتِي. أنقِذْنِي بِحَسَبِ وَعدِكَ.

Let my supplication come before You; deliver me according to Your word!

171 ت َفِيضُ شَفَتايَ بِتَرانِيمِ التَّسبِيحِ، لأنَّكَ تُعَلِّمُنِي شَرائِعَكَ.

My lips shall pour forth praise when You teach me Your statutes.

172 أ عِنِّي فَاسْتَجِيبَ لِكَلامِكَ، فَكُلُّ وَصاياكَ صائِبَةٌ.

My tongue shall sing of Your word, for all Your commandments are righteous.

173 ت َهَيَّأْ لِمَعُونَتِي لأنِّي اختَرتُ أنْ أُطِيعَ وَصاياكَ.

Let Your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen Your precepts.

174 ش َوقِي هُوَ إلَى خَلاصِكَ يا اللهُ. وَبِتَعلِيمِكَ أتَلَذَّذُ.

I have longed for Your salvation, O Lord, and Your law is my delight.

175 أ حْيِنِي فَتُسَبِّحَكَ نَفسِي. فَرائِضُكَ عَونِي.

Let me live that I may praise You, and let Your decrees help me.

176 إ نْ تُهتُ كَخَرُوفٍ ضالٍّ، فَتَعالَ يا اللهُ، وَجِدْ عَبدَكَ، فَأنا لَمْ أنْسَ وَصاياكَ.

I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek, inquire for, and demand Your servant, for I do not forget Your commandments.
