1 H eureux ceux qui sont intègres dans leur voie, Qui marchent selon la loi de l'Éternel!

Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are the undefiled (the upright, truly sincere, and blameless) in the way, who walk (order their conduct and conversation) in the law of the Lord (the whole of God’s revealed will).

2 H eureux ceux qui gardent ses préceptes, Qui le cherchent de tout leur coeur,

Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are they who keep His testimonies, and who seek, inquire for and of Him and crave Him with the whole heart.

3 Q ui ne commettent point d'iniquité, Et qui marchent dans ses voies!

Yes, they do no unrighteousness; they walk in His ways.

4 T u as prescrit tes ordonnances, Pour qu'on les observe avec soin.

You have commanded us to keep Your precepts, that we should observe them diligently.

5 P uissent mes actions être bien réglées, Afin que je garde tes statuts!

Oh, that my ways were directed and established to observe Your statutes!

6 A lors je ne rougirai point, A la vue de tous tes commandements.

Then shall I not be put to shame when I have respect to all Your commandments.

7 J e te louerai dans la droiture de mon coeur, En apprenant les lois de ta justice.

I will praise and give thanks to You with uprightness of heart when I learn Your righteous judgments.

8 J e veux garder tes statuts: Ne m'abandonne pas entièrement!

I will keep Your statutes; O forsake me not utterly.

9 C omment le jeune homme rendra-t-il pur son sentier? En se dirigeant d'après ta parole.

How shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed and keeping watch according to Your word.

10 J e te cherche de tout mon coeur: Ne me laisse pas égarer loin de tes commandements!

With my whole heart have I sought You, inquiring for and of You and yearning for You; Oh, let me not wander or step aside from Your commandments.

11 J e serre ta parole dans mon coeur, Afin de ne pas pécher contre toi.

Your word have I laid up in my heart, that I might not sin against You.

12 B éni sois-tu, ô Éternel! Enseigne-moi tes statuts!

Blessed are You, O Lord; teach me Your statutes.

13 D e mes lèvres j'énumère Toutes les sentences de ta bouche.

With my lips have I declared and recounted all the ordinances of Your mouth.

14 J e me réjouis en suivant tes préceptes, Comme si je possédais tous les trésors.

I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies as much as in all riches.

15 J e médite tes ordonnances, J'ai tes sentiers sous les yeux.

I will meditate on Your precepts and have respect to Your ways.

16 J e fais mes délices de tes statuts, Je n'oublie point ta parole.

I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.

17 F ais du bien à ton serviteur, pour que je vive Et que j'observe ta parole!

Deal bountifully with Your servant, that I may live; and I will observe Your word.

18 O uvre mes yeux, pour que je contemple Les merveilles de ta loi!

Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of Your law.

19 J e suis un étranger sur la terre: Ne me cache pas tes commandements!

I am a stranger and a temporary resident on the earth; hide not Your commandments from me.

20 M on âme est brisée par le désir Qui toujours la porte vers tes lois.

My heart is breaking with the longing that it has for Your ordinances and judgments at all times.

21 T u menaces les orgueilleux, ces maudits, Qui s'égarent loin de tes commandements.

You rebuke the proud and arrogant, the accursed ones, who err and wander from Your commandments.

22 D écharge-moi de l'opprobre et du mépris! Car j'observe tes préceptes.

Take away from me reproach and contempt, for I keep Your testimonies.

23 D es princes ont beau s'asseoir et parler contre moi, Ton serviteur médite tes statuts.

Princes also sat and talked against me, but Your servant meditated on Your statutes.

24 T es préceptes font mes délices, Ce sont mes conseillers.

Your testimonies also are my delight and my counselors.

25 M on âme est attachée à la poussière: Rends-moi la vie selon ta parole!

My earthly life cleaves to the dust; revive and stimulate me according to Your word!

26 J e raconte mes voies, et tu m'exauces: Enseigne-moi tes statuts!

I have declared my ways and opened my griefs to You, and You listened to me; teach me Your statutes.

27 F ais-moi comprendre la voie de tes ordonnances, Et je méditerai sur tes merveilles!

Make me understand the way of Your precepts; so shall I meditate on and talk of Your wondrous works.

28 M on âme pleure de chagrin: Relève-moi selon ta parole!

My life dissolves and weeps itself away for heaviness; raise me up and strengthen me according to Your word.

29 É loigne de moi la voie du mensonge, Et accorde-moi la grâce de suivre ta loi!

Remove from me the way of falsehood and unfaithfulness, and graciously impart Your law to me.

30 J e choisis la voie de la vérité, Je place tes lois sous mes yeux.

I have chosen the way of truth and faithfulness; Your ordinances have I set before me.

31 J e m'attache à tes préceptes: Éternel, ne me rends point confus!

I cleave to Your testimonies; O Lord, put me not to shame!

32 J e cours dans la voie de tes commandements, Car tu élargis mon coeur.

I will run the way of Your commandments, when You give me a heart that is willing.

33 E nseigne-moi, Éternel, la voie de tes statuts, pour que je la retienne jusqu'à la fin!

Teach me, O Lord, the way of Your statutes, and I will keep it to the end.

34 D onne-moi l'intelligence, pour que je garde ta loi Et que je l'observe de tout mon coeur!

Give me understanding, that I may keep Your law; yes, I will observe it with my whole heart.

35 C onduis-moi dans le sentier de tes commandements! Car je l'aime.

Make me go in the path of Your commandments, for in them do I delight.

36 I ncline mon coeur vers tes préceptes, Et non vers le gain!

Incline my heart to Your testimonies and not to covetousness (robbery, sensuality, unworthy riches).

37 D étourne mes yeux de la vue des choses vaines, Fais-moi vivre dans ta voie!

Turn away my eyes from beholding vanity (idols and idolatry); and restore me to vigorous life and health in Your ways.

38 A ccomplis envers ton serviteur ta promesse, Qui est pour ceux qui te craignent!

Establish Your word and confirm Your promise to Your servant, which is for those who reverently fear and devotedly worship You.

39 É loigne de moi l'opprobre que je redoute! Car tes jugements sont pleins de bonté.

Turn away my reproach which I fear and dread, for Your ordinances are good.

40 V oici, je désire pratiquer tes ordonnances: Fais-moi vivre dans ta justice!

Behold, I long for Your precepts; in Your righteousness give me renewed life.

41 É ternel, que ta miséricorde vienne sur moi, Ton salut selon ta promesse!

Let Your mercy and loving-kindness come also to me, O Lord, even Your salvation according to Your promise;

42 E t je pourrai répondre à celui qui m'outrage, Car je me confie en ta parole.

Then shall I have an answer for those who taunt and reproach me, for I lean on, rely on, and trust in Your word.

43 N 'ôte pas entièrement de ma bouche la parole de la vérité! Car j'espère en tes jugements.

And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth, for I hope in Your ordinances.

44 J e garderai ta loi constamment, A toujours et à perpétuité.

I will keep Your law continually, forever and ever.

45 J e marcherai au large, Car je recherche tes ordonnances.

And I will walk at liberty and at ease, for I have sought and inquired for Your precepts.

46 J e parlerai de tes préceptes devant les rois, Et je ne rougirai point.

I will speak of Your testimonies also before kings and will not be put to shame.

47 J e fais mes délices de tes commandements. Je les aime.

For I will delight myself in Your commandments, which I love.

48 J e lève mes mains vers tes commandements que j'aime, Et je veux méditer tes statuts.

My hands also will I lift up to Your commandments, which I love, and I will meditate on Your statutes.

49 S ouviens-toi de ta promesse à ton serviteur, Puisque tu m'as donné l'espérance!

Remember the word and promise to Your servant, in which You have caused me to hope.

50 C 'est ma consolation dans ma misère, Car ta promesse me rend la vie.

This is my comfort and consolation in my affliction: that Your word has revived me and given me life.

51 D es orgueilleux me chargent de railleries; Je ne m'écarte point de ta loi.

The proud have had me greatly in derision, yet have I not declined in my interest in or turned aside from Your law.

52 J e pense à tes jugements d'autrefois, ô Éternel! Et je me console.

When I have recalled Your ordinances from of old, O Lord, I have taken comfort.

53 U ne colère ardente me saisit à la vue des méchants Qui abandonnent ta loi.

Burning indignation, terror, and sadness seize upon me because of the wicked, who forsake Your law.

54 T es statuts sont le sujet de mes cantiques, Dans la maison où je suis étranger.

Your statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage.

55 L a nuit je me rappelle ton nom, ô Éternel! Et je garde ta loi.

I have remembered Your name, O Lord, in the night, and I have observed Your law.

56 C 'est là ce qui m'est propre, Car j'observe tes ordonnances.

This I have had: that I have kept Your precepts.

57 M a part, ô Éternel! je le dis, C'est de garder tes paroles.

You are my portion, O Lord; I have promised to keep Your words.

58 J e t'implore de tout mon coeur: Aie pitié de moi, selon ta promesse!

I entreated Your favor with my whole heart; be merciful and gracious to me according to Your promise.

59 J e réfléchis à mes voies, Et je dirige mes pieds vers tes préceptes.

I considered my ways; I turned my feet to Your testimonies.

60 J e me hâte, je ne diffère point D'observer tes commandements.

I made haste and delayed not to keep Your commandments.

61 L es pièges des méchants m'environnent; Je n'oublie point ta loi.

Though the cords of the wicked have enclosed and ensnared me, I have not forgotten Your law.

62 A u milieu de la nuit je me lève pour te louer, A cause des jugements de ta justice.

At midnight I will rise to give thanks to You because of Your righteous ordinances.

63 J e suis l'ami de tous ceux qui te craignent, Et de ceux qui gardent tes ordonnances.

I am a companion of all those who fear, revere, and worship You, and of those who observe and give heed to Your precepts.

64 L a terre, ô Éternel! est pleine de ta bonté; Enseigne-moi tes statuts!

The earth, O Lord, is full of Your mercy and loving-kindness; teach me Your statutes.

65 T u fais du bien à ton serviteur, O Éternel! selon ta promesse.

You have dealt well with Your servant, O Lord, according to Your promise.

66 E nseigne-moi le bon sens et l'intelligence! Car je crois à tes commandements.

Teach me good judgment, wise and right discernment, and knowledge, for I have believed (trusted, relied on, and clung to) Your commandments.

67 A vant d'avoir été humilié, je m'égarais; Maintenant j'observe ta parole.

Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now Your word do I keep.

68 T u es bon et bienfaisant; Enseigne-moi tes statuts!

You are good and kind and do good; teach me Your statutes.

69 D es orgueilleux imaginent contre moi des faussetés; Moi, je garde de tout mon coeur tes ordonnances.

The arrogant and godless have put together a lie against me, but I will keep Your precepts with my whole heart.

70 L eur coeur est insensible comme la graisse; Moi, je fais mes délices de ta loi.

Their hearts are as fat as grease, but I delight in Your law.

71 I l m'est bon d'être humilié, Afin que j'apprenne tes statuts.

It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I might learn Your statutes.

72 M ieux vaut pour moi la loi de ta bouche Que mille objets d'or et d'argent.

The law from Your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver pieces.

73 T es mains m'ont créé, elles m'ont formé; Donne-moi l'intelligence, pour que j'apprenne tes commandements!

Your hands have made me, cunningly fashioned and established me; give me understanding, that I may learn Your commandments.

74 C eux qui te craignent me voient et se réjouissent, Car j'espère en tes promesses.

Those who reverently and worshipfully fear You will see me and be glad, because I have hoped in Your word and tarried for it.

75 J e sais, ô Éternel! que tes jugements sont justes; C'est par fidélité que tu m'as humilié.

I know, O Lord, that Your judgments are right and righteous, and that in faithfulness You have afflicted me.

76 Q ue ta bonté soit ma consolation, Comme tu l'as promis à ton serviteur!

Let, I pray You, Your merciful kindness and steadfast love be for my comfort, according to Your promise to Your servant.

77 Q ue tes compassions viennent sur moi, pour que je vive! Car ta loi fait mes délices.

Let Your tender mercy and loving-kindness come to me that I may live, for Your law is my delight!

78 Q u'ils soient confondus, les orgueilleux qui m'oppriment sans cause! Moi, je médite sur tes ordonnances.

Let the proud be put to shame, for they dealt perversely with me without a cause; but I will meditate on Your precepts.

79 Q u'ils reviennent à moi, ceux qui te craignent, Et ceux qui connaissent tes préceptes!

Let those who reverently and worshipfully fear You turn to me, and those who have known Your testimonies.

80 Q ue mon coeur soit sincère dans tes statuts, Afin que je ne sois pas couvert de honte!

Let my heart be sound (sincere and wholehearted and blameless) in Your statutes, that I may not be put to shame.

81 M on âme languit après ton salut; J'espère en ta promesse.

My soul languishes and grows faint for Your salvation, but I hope in Your word.

82 M es yeux languissent après ta promesse; Je dis: Quand me consoleras-tu?

My eyes fail, watching for Your promise. I say, When will You comfort me?

83 C ar je suis comme une outre dans la fumée; Je n'oublie point tes statuts.

For I have become like a bottle in the smoke, yet do I not forget Your statutes.

84 Q uel est le nombre des jours de ton serviteur? Quand feras-tu justice de ceux qui me persécutent?

How many are the days of Your servant ? When will You judge those who pursue and persecute me?

85 D es orgueilleux creusent des fosses devant moi; Ils n'agissent point selon ta loi.

The godless and arrogant have dug pitfalls for me, men who do not conform to Your law.

86 T ous tes commandements ne sont que fidélité; Ils me persécutent sans cause: secours-moi!

All Your commandments are faithful and sure. pursue and persecute me with falsehood; help me!

87 I ls ont failli me terrasser et m'anéantir; Et moi, je n'abandonne point tes ordonnances.

They had almost consumed me upon earth, but I forsook not Your precepts.

88 R ends-moi la vie selon ta bonté, Afin que j'observe les préceptes de ta bouche!

According to Your steadfast love give life to me; then I will keep the testimony of Your mouth.

89 A toujours, ô Éternel! Ta parole subsiste dans les cieux.

Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven.

90 D e génération en génération ta fidélité subsiste; Tu as fondé la terre, et elle demeure ferme.

Your faithfulness is from generation to generation; You have established the earth, and it stands fast.

91 C 'est d'après tes lois que tout subsiste aujourd'hui, Car toutes choses te sont assujetties.

All are Your servants; therefore they continue this day according to Your ordinances.

92 S i ta loi n'eût fait mes délices, J'eusse alors péri dans ma misère.

Unless Your law had been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction.

93 J e n'oublierai jamais tes ordonnances, Car c'est par elles que tu me rends la vie.

I will never forget Your precepts, for it is by them You have quickened me (granted me life).

94 J e suis à toi: sauve-moi! Car je recherche tes ordonnances.

I am Yours, therefore save me; for I have sought (inquired of and for) Your precepts and required them.

95 D es méchants m'attendent pour me faire périr; Je suis attentif à tes préceptes.

The wicked wait for me to destroy me, but I will consider Your testimonies.

96 J e vois des bornes à tout ce qui est parfait: Tes commandements n'ont point de limite.

I have seen that everything has its limits and end; but Your commandment is exceedingly broad and extends without limits.

97 C ombien j'aime ta loi! Elle est tout le jour l'objet de ma méditation.

Oh, how love I Your law! It is my meditation all the day.

98 T es commandements me rendent plus sage que mes ennemis, Car je les ai toujours avec moi.

You, through Your commandments, make me wiser than my enemies, for are ever before me.

99 J e suis plus instruit que tous mes maîtres, Car tes préceptes sont l'objet de ma méditation.

I have better understanding and deeper insight than all my teachers, because Your testimonies are my meditation.

100 J 'ai plus d'intelligence que les vieillards, Car j'observe tes ordonnances.

I understand more than the aged, because I keep Your precepts.

101 J e retiens mon pied loin de tout mauvais chemin, Afin de garder ta parole.

I have restrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep Your word.

102 J e ne m'écarte pas de tes lois, Car c'est toi qui m'enseignes.

I have not turned aside from Your ordinances, for You Yourself have taught me.

103 Q ue tes paroles sont douces à mon palais, Plus que le miel à ma bouche!

How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

104 P ar tes ordonnances je deviens intelligent, Aussi je hais toute voie de mensonge.

Through Your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way.

105 T a parole est une lampe à mes pieds, Et une lumière sur mon sentier.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

106 J e jure, et je le tiendrai, D'observer les lois de ta justice.

I have sworn and have confirmed it, that I will keep Your righteous ordinances.

107 J e suis bien humilié: Éternel, rends-moi la vie selon ta parole!

I am sorely afflicted; renew and quicken me, O Lord, according to Your word!

108 A grée, ô Éternel! les sentiments que ma bouche exprime, Et enseigne-moi tes lois!

Accept, I beseech You, the freewill offerings of my mouth, O Lord, and teach me Your ordinances.

109 M a vie est continuellement exposée, Et je n'oublie point ta loi.

My life is continually in my hand, yet I do not forget Your law.

110 D es méchants me tendent des pièges, Et je ne m'égare pas loin de tes ordonnances.

The wicked have laid a snare for me, yet I do not stray from Your precepts.

111 T es préceptes sont pour toujours mon héritage, Car ils sont la joie de mon coeur.

Your testimonies have I taken as a heritage forever, for they are the rejoicing of my heart.

112 J 'incline mon coeur à pratiquer tes statuts, Toujours, jusqu'à la fin.

I have inclined my heart to perform Your statutes forever, even to the end.

113 J e hais les hommes indécis, Et j'aime ta loi.

I hate the thoughts of undecided, double-minded people, but Your law do I love.

114 T u es mon asile et mon bouclier; J'espère en ta promesse.

You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in Your word.

115 É loignez-vous de moi, méchants, Afin que j'observe les commandements de mon Dieu!

Depart from me, you evildoers, that I may keep the commandments of my God.

116 S outiens-moi selon ta promesse, afin que je vive, Et ne me rends point confus dans mon espérance!

Uphold me according to Your promise, that I may live; and let me not be put to shame in my hope!

117 S ois mon appui, pour que je sois sauvé, Et que je m'occupe sans cesse de tes statuts!

Hold me up, that I may be safe and have regard for Your statutes continually!

118 T u méprises tous ceux qui s'écartent de tes statuts, Car leur tromperie est sans effet.

You spurn and set at nought all those who stray from Your statutes, for their own lying deceives them and their tricks are in vain.

119 T u enlèves comme de l'écume tous les méchants de la terre; C'est pourquoi j'aime tes préceptes.

You put away and count as dross all the wicked of the earth; therefore I love Your testimonies.

120 M a chair frissonne de l'effroi que tu m'inspires, Et je crains tes jugements.

My flesh trembles and shudders for fear and reverential, worshipful awe of You, and I am afraid and in dread of Your judgments.

121 J 'observe la loi et la justice: Ne m'abandonne pas à mes oppresseurs!

I have done justice and righteousness; leave me not to those who would oppress me.

122 P rends sous ta garantie le bien de ton serviteur, Ne me laisse pas opprimer par des orgueilleux!

Be surety for Your servant for good; let not the proud oppress me.

123 M es yeux languissent après ton salut, Et après la promesse de ta justice.

My eyes fail, watching for Your salvation and for the fulfillment of Your righteous promise.

124 A gis envers ton serviteur selon ta bonté, Et enseigne-moi tes statuts!

Deal with Your servant according to Your mercy and loving-kindness, and teach me Your statutes.

125 J e suis ton serviteur: donne-moi l'intelligence, Pour que je connaisse tes préceptes!

I am Your servant; give me understanding (discernment and comprehension), that I may know (discern and be familiar with the character of) Your testimonies.

126 I l est temps que l'Éternel agisse: Ils transgressent ta loi.

It is time for the Lord to act; they have frustrated Your law.

127 C 'est pourquoi j'aime tes commandements, Plus que l'or et que l'or fin;

Therefore I love Your commandments more than gold, yes, more than refined gold.

128 C 'est pourquoi je trouve justes toutes tes ordonnances, Je hais toute voie de mensonge.

Therefore I esteem as right all, yes, all Your precepts; I hate every false way.

129 T es préceptes sont admirables: Aussi mon âme les observe.

Your testimonies are wonderful; therefore my self keeps them.

130 L a révélation de tes paroles éclaire, Elle donne de l'intelligence aux simples.

The entrance and unfolding of Your words give light; their unfolding gives understanding (discernment and comprehension) to the simple.

131 J 'ouvre la bouche et je soupire, Car je suis avide de tes commandements.

I opened my mouth and panted, for I longed for Your commandments.

132 T ourne vers moi ta face, et aie pitié de moi, Selon ta coutume à l'égard de ceux qui aiment ton nom!

Look upon me, be merciful unto me, and show me favor, as is Your way to those who love Your name.

133 A ffermis mes pas dans ta parole, Et ne laisse aucune iniquité dominer sur moi!

Establish my steps and direct them by Your word; let not any iniquity have dominion over me.

134 D élivre-moi de l'oppression des hommes, Afin que je garde tes ordonnances!

Deliver me from the oppression of man; so will I keep Your precepts.

135 F ais luire ta face sur ton serviteur, Et enseigne-moi tes statuts!

Make Your face shine upon Your servant, and teach me Your statutes.

136 M es yeux répandent des torrents d'eaux, Parce qu'on n'observe point ta loi.

Streams of water run down my eyes, because men do not keep Your law.

137 T u es juste, ô Éternel! Et tes jugements sont équitables;

righteous are You, O Lord, and upright are Your judgments and all expressions of Your will.

138 T u fondes tes préceptes sur la justice Et sur la plus grande fidélité.

You have commanded and appointed Your testimonies in righteousness and in great faithfulness.

139 M on zèle me consume, Parce que mes adversaires oublient tes paroles.

My zeal has consumed me and cut me off, because my adversaries have forgotten Your words.

140 T a parole est entièrement éprouvée, Et ton serviteur l'aime.

Your word is very pure (tried and well refined); therefore Your servant loves it.

141 J e suis petit et méprisé; Je n'oublie point tes ordonnances.

I am small (insignificant) and despised, but I do not forget Your precepts.

142 T a justice est une justice éternelle, Et ta loi est la vérité.

Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and Your law is truth.

143 L a détresse et l'angoisse m'atteignent: Tes commandements font mes délices.

Trouble and anguish have found and taken hold on me, yet Your commandments are my delight.

144 T es préceptes sont éternellement justes: Donne-moi l'intelligence, pour que je vive!

Your righteous testimonies are everlasting and Your decrees are binding to eternity; give me understanding and I shall live.

145 J e t'invoque de tout mon coeur: exauce-moi, Éternel, Afin que je garde tes statuts!

I cried with my whole heart; hear me, O Lord; I will keep Your statutes.

146 J e t'invoque: sauve-moi, Afin que j'observe tes préceptes!

I cried to You; save me, that I may keep Your testimonies.

147 J e devance l'aurore et je crie; J'espère en tes promesses.

I anticipated the dawning of the morning and cried; I hoped in Your word.

148 J e devance les veilles et j'ouvre les yeux, Pour méditer ta parole.

My eyes anticipate the night watches and I am awake before the cry of the watchman, that I may meditate on Your word.

149 É coute ma voix selon ta bonté! Rends-moi la vie selon ton jugement!

Hear my voice according to Your steadfast love; O Lord, quicken me and give me life according to Your decrees.

150 I ls s'approchent, ceux qui poursuivent le crime, Ils s'éloignent de la loi.

They draw near who follow after wrong thinking and persecute me with wickedness; they are far from Your law.

151 T u es proche, ô Éternel! Et tous tes commandements sont la vérité.

You are near, O Lord, and all Your commandments are truth.

152 D ès longtemps je sais par tes préceptes Que tu les as établis pour toujours.

Of old have I known Your testimonies, and for a long time, that You have founded them forever.

153 V ois ma misère, et délivre-moi! Car je n'oublie point ta loi.

Consider my affliction and deliver me, for I do not forget Your law.

154 D éfends ma cause, et rachète-moi; Rends-moi la vie selon ta promesse!

Plead my cause and redeem me; revive me and give me life according to Your word.

155 L e salut est loin des méchants, Car ils ne recherchent pas tes statuts.

Salvation is far from the wicked, for they seek not nor hunger for Your statutes.

156 T es compassions sont grandes, ô Éternel! Rends-moi la vie selon tes jugements!

Great are Your tender mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord; give me life according to Your ordinances.

157 M es persécuteurs et mes adversaires sont nombreux; Je ne m'écarte point de tes préceptes,

Many are my persecutors and my adversaries, yet I do not swerve from Your testimonies.

158 J e vois avec dégoût des traîtres Qui n'observent pas ta parole.

I behold the treacherous and am grieved and loathe them, because they do not respect Your law.

159 C onsidère que j'aime tes ordonnances: Éternel, rends-moi la vie selon ta bonté!

Consider how I love Your precepts; revive me and give life to me, O Lord, according to Your loving-kindness!

160 L e fondement de ta parole est la vérité, Et toutes les lois de ta justice sont éternelles.

The sum of Your word is truth; and every one of Your righteous decrees endures forever.

161 D es princes me persécutent sans cause; Mais mon coeur ne tremble qu'à tes paroles.

Princes pursue and persecute me without cause, but my heart stands in awe of Your words.

162 J e me réjouis de ta parole, Comme celui qui trouve un grand butin.

I rejoice at Your word as one who finds great spoil.

163 J e hais, je déteste le mensonge; J'aime ta loi.

I hate and abhor falsehood, but Your law do I love.

164 S ept fois le jour je te célèbre, A cause des lois de ta justice.

Seven times a day and all day long do I praise You because of Your righteous decrees.

165 I l y a beaucoup de paix pour ceux qui aiment ta loi, Et il ne leur arrive aucun malheur.

Great peace have they who love Your law; nothing shall offend them or make them stumble.

166 J 'espère en ton salut, ô Éternel! Et je pratique tes commandements.

I am hoping and waiting for Your salvation, O Lord, and I do Your commandments.

167 M on âme observe tes préceptes, Et je les aime beaucoup.

Your testimonies have I kept; I love them exceedingly!

168 J e garde tes ordonnances et tes préceptes, Car toutes mes voies sont devant toi.

I have observed Your precepts and Your testimonies, for all my ways are before You.

169 Q ue mon cri parvienne jusqu'à toi, ô Éternel! Donne-moi l'intelligence, selon ta promesse!

Let my mournful cry and supplication come before You, O Lord; give me understanding (discernment and comprehension) according to Your word.

170 Q ue ma supplication arrive jusqu'à toi! Délivre-moi, selon ta promesse!

Let my supplication come before You; deliver me according to Your word!

171 Q ue mes lèvres publient ta louange! Car tu m'enseignes tes statuts.

My lips shall pour forth praise when You teach me Your statutes.

172 Q ue ma langue chante ta parole! Car tous tes commandements sont justes.

My tongue shall sing of Your word, for all Your commandments are righteous.

173 Q ue ta main me soit en aide! Car j'ai choisi tes ordonnances.

Let Your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen Your precepts.

174 J e soupire après ton salut, ô Éternel! Et ta loi fait mes délices.

I have longed for Your salvation, O Lord, and Your law is my delight.

175 Q ue mon âme vive et qu'elle te loue! Et que tes jugements me soutiennent!

Let me live that I may praise You, and let Your decrees help me.

176 J e suis errant comme une brebis perdue; cherche ton serviteur, Car je n'oublie point tes commandements.

I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek, inquire for, and demand Your servant, for I do not forget Your commandments.
