Then Bildad the Shuhite answered,

2 L a puissance et la terreur appartiennent à Dieu; Il fait régner la paix dans ses hautes régions.

Dominion and fear are with; He makes peace in His high places.

3 S es armées ne sont-elles pas innombrables? Sur qui sa lumière ne se lève-t-elle pas?

Is there any number to His armies? And upon whom does not His light arise?

4 C omment l'homme serait-il juste devant Dieu? Comment celui qui est né de la femme serait-il pur?

How then can man be justified and righteous before God? Or how can he who is born of a woman be pure and clean?

5 V oici, la lune même n'est pas brillante, Et les étoiles ne sont pas pures à ses yeux;

Behold, even the moon has no brightness and the stars are not pure in His sight—

6 C ombien moins l'homme, qui n'est qu'un ver, Le fils de l'homme, qui n'est qu'un vermisseau!

How much less man, who is a maggot! And a son of man, who is a worm!
