1 B etsaleel, Oholiab, et tous les hommes habiles, en qui l'Éternel avait mis de la sagesse et de l'intelligence pour savoir et pour faire, exécutèrent les ouvrages destinés au service du sanctuaire, selon tout ce que l'Éternel avait ordonné.

Bezalel and Aholiab and every wisehearted man in whom the Lord has put wisdom and understanding to know how to do all the work for the service of the sanctuary shall work according to all that the Lord has commanded.

2 M oïse appela Betsaleel, Oholiab, et tous les hommes habiles dans l'esprit desquels l'Éternel avait mis de l'intelligence, tous ceux dont le coeur était disposé à s'appliquer à l'oeuvre pour l'exécuter.

And Moses called Bezalel and Aholiab and every able and wisehearted man in whose mind the Lord had put wisdom and ability, everyone whose heart stirred him up to come to do the work;

3 I ls prirent devant Moïse toutes les offrandes qu'avaient apportées les enfants d'Israël pour faire les ouvrages destinés au service du sanctuaire. Chaque matin, on apportait encore à Moïse des offrandes volontaires.

And they received from Moses all the freewill offerings which the Israelites had brought for doing the work of the sanctuary, to prepare it for service. And they continued to bring him freewill offerings every morning.

4 A lors tous les hommes habiles, occupés à tous les travaux du sanctuaire, quittèrent chacun l'ouvrage qu'ils faisaient,

And all the wise and able men who were doing the work on the sanctuary came, every man from the work he was doing,

5 e t vinrent dire à Moïse: Le peuple apporte beaucoup plus qu'il ne faut pour exécuter les ouvrages que l'Éternel a ordonné de faire.

And they said to Moses, The people bring much more than enough for doing the work which the Lord commanded to do.

6 M oïse fit publier dans le camp que personne, homme ou femme, ne s'occupât plus d'offrandes pour le sanctuaire. On empêcha ainsi le peuple d'en apporter.

So Moses commanded and it was proclaimed in all the camp, Let no man or woman do anything more for the sanctuary offering. So the people were restrained from bringing,

7 L es objets préparés suffisaient, et au delà, pour tous les ouvrages à faire.

For the stuff they had was sufficient to do all the work and more.

8 T ous les hommes habiles, qui travaillèrent à l'oeuvre, firent le tabernacle avec dix tapis de fin lin retors et de fil bleu, pourpre et cramoisi; on y représenta des chérubins artistement travaillés.

And all the able and wisehearted men among them who did the work on the tabernacle made ten curtains of fine twined linen and blue, purple, and scarlet, with cherubim skillfully worked on them.

9 L a longueur d'un tapis était de vingt-huit coudées; et la largeur d'un tapis était de quatre coudées; la mesure était la même pour tous les tapis.

The length of each curtain was twenty-eight cubits and its breadth four cubits; all the curtains were one size.

10 C inq de ces tapis furent joints ensemble; les cinq autres furent aussi joints ensemble.

coupled five curtains one to another and the other five curtains he coupled one to another.

11 O n fit des lacets bleus au bord du tapis terminant le premier assemblage; on fit de même au bord du tapis terminant le second assemblage.

And he made loops of blue on the outer edge of the last curtain in the first set; this he did also on the inner edge of the first curtain in the second set.

12 O n mit cinquante lacets au premier tapis, et l'on mit cinquante lacets au bord du tapis terminant le second assemblage; ces lacets se correspondaient les uns aux autres.

Fifty loops he made in the one curtain and fifty loops in the edge of the curtain which was the second set; the loops were opposite one another.

13 O n fit cinquante agrafes d'or, et l'on joignit les tapis l'un à l'autre avec les agrafes. Et le tabernacle forma un tout.

And he made fifty clasps of gold and coupled the curtains together with the clasps so that the tabernacle became one unit.

14 O n fit des tapis de poil de chèvre, pour servir de tente sur le tabernacle; on fit onze de ces tapis.

And he made eleven curtains of goats’ hair for a tent over the tabernacle.

15 L a longueur d'un tapis était de trente coudées, et la largeur d'un tapis était de quatre coudées; la mesure était la même pour les onze tapis.

The length of one curtain was thirty cubits and four cubits was the breadth; the eleven curtains were of equal size.

16 O n joignit séparément cinq de ces tapis, et les six autres séparément.

And he coupled five curtains by themselves and the other six curtains by themselves.

17 O n mit cinquante lacets au bord du tapis terminant un assemblage, et l'on mit cinquante lacets au bord du tapis du second assemblage.

And he made fifty loops on the outmost edge of the curtain to be coupled and fifty loops he made on the inner edge of the second curtain to be coupled.

18 O n fit cinquante agrafes d'airain, pour assembler la tente, afin qu'elle formât un tout.

He made fifty clasps of bronze to couple the tent together into one whole.

19 O n fit pour la tente une couverture de peaux de béliers teintes en rouge, et une couverture de peaux de dauphins, qui devait être mise par-dessus.

He made a covering for the tent of rams’ skins tanned red, and above it a covering of dolphin or porpoise skins.

20 O n fit les planches pour le tabernacle; elles étaient de bois d'acacia, placées debout.

He made boards of acacia wood for the upright framework of the tabernacle.

21 L a longueur d'une planche était de dix coudées, et la largeur d'une planche était d'une coudée et demie.

The length of a board was ten cubits and the breadth one cubit and a half.

22 I l y avait pour chaque planche deux tenons, joints l'un à l'autre; l'on fit de même pour toutes les planches du tabernacle.

Each board had two tenons (projections) to fit into a mortise to form a clutch; he did this for all the boards of the tabernacle.

23 O n fit vingt planches pour le tabernacle, du côté du midi.

And he made thus the boards for the tabernacle: twenty boards for the south side,

24 O n mit quarante bases d'argent sous les vingt planches, deux bases sous chaque planche pour ses deux tenons.

And he made under the twenty boards forty sockets or bases of silver, two sockets under one board for its two tenons or hands, and two sockets under another board for its two tenons.

25 O n fit vingt planches pour le second côté du tabernacle, le côté du nord,

For the other side of the tabernacle, the north side, he made twenty boards

26 e t leur quarante bases d'argent, deux bases sous chaque planche.

And their forty sockets or bases of silver, two sockets under each board.

27 O n fit six planches pour le fond du tabernacle, du côté de l'occident.

And for the rear or west side of the tabernacle he made six boards.

28 O n fit deux planches pour les angles du tabernacle dans le fond;

And two boards he made for each corner of the tabernacle in the rear.

29 e lles étaient doubles depuis le bas et bien liées à leur sommet par un anneau; on fit de même pour toutes aux deux angles.

They were separate below but linked together at the top with one ring; thus he made both of them in both corners.

30 I l y avait ainsi huit planches, avec leurs bases d'argent, soit seize bases, deux bases sous chaque planche.

There were eight boards with sixteen sockets or bases of silver, and under each board two sockets.

31 O n fit cinq barres de bois d'acacia pour les planches de l'un des côtés du tabernacle,

He made bars of acacia wood, five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle,

32 c inq barres pour les planches du second côté du tabernacle, et cinq barres pour les planches du côté du tabernacle formant le fond vers l'occident;

And five bars for the boards of its other side, and five bars for the boards at the rear or west side.

33 o n fit la barre du milieu pour traverser les planches d'une extrémité à l'autre.

And he made the middle bar pass through halfway up the boards from one end to the other.

34 O n couvrit d'or les planches, et l'on fit d'or leurs anneaux pour recevoir les barres, et l'on couvrit d'or les barres.

He overlaid the boards and the bars with gold and made their rings of gold as places for the bars.

35 O n fit le voile de fil bleu, pourpre et cramoisi, et de fin lin retors; on le fit artistement travaillé, et l'on y représenta des chérubins.

And he made the veil of blue, purple, and scarlet and fine twined linen, with cherubim skillfully worked.

36 O n fit pour lui quatre colonnes d'acacia, et on les couvrit d'or; elles avaient des crochets d'or, et l'on fondit pour elles quatre bases d'argent.

For he made four pillars of acacia and overlaid them with gold; their hooks were of gold, and he cast for them four sockets or bases of silver.

37 O n fit pour l'entrée de la tente un rideau de fil bleu, pourpre et cramoisi, et de fin lin retors; c'était un ouvrage de broderie.

And he made a screen for the tent door of blue, purple, and scarlet and fine twined linen, embroidered,

38 O n fit ses cinq colonnes et leurs crochets, et l'on couvrit d'or leurs chapiteaux et leurs tringles; leurs cinq bases étaient d'airain.

And he made the five pillars of it with their hooks, and overlaid their ornamental tops and joinings with gold, but their five sockets were of bronze.
