3 C ar le Juif Mardochée était le premier après le roi Assuérus; considéré parmi les Juifs et aimé de la multitude de ses frères, il rechercha le bien de son peuple et parla pour le bonheur de toute sa race.

For Mordecai the Jew was next to King Ahasuerus and great among the Jews, and was a favorite with the multitude of his brethren, for he sought the welfare of his people and spoke peace to his whole race.
