1 L a parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:

The word of the Lord also came to me, saying,

2 F ils de l'homme, tu habites au milieu d'une famille de rebelles, qui ont des yeux pour voir et qui ne voient point, des oreilles pour entendre et qui n'entendent point; car c'est une famille de rebelles.

Son of man, you dwell in the midst of the house of the rebellious, who have eyes to see and see not, who have ears to hear and hear not, for they are a rebellious house.

3 E t toi, fils de l'homme, prépare tes effets de voyage, et pars de jour, sous leurs yeux! Pars, en leur présence, du lieu où tu es pour un autre lieu: peut-être verront-ils qu'ils sont une famille de rebelles.

Therefore, son of man, prepare your belongings for removing and going into exile, and move out by day in their sight; and you shall remove from your place to another place in their sight. It may be they will consider and perceive that they are a rebellious house.

4 S ors tes effets comme des effets de voyage, de jour sous leurs yeux; et toi, pars le soir, en leur présence, comme partent des exilés.

And you shall bring forth your baggage by day in their sight, as baggage for removing into exile; and you shall go forth yourself at evening in their sight, as those who go forth into exile.

5 S ous leurs yeux, tu perceras la muraille, et tu sortiras tes effets par là.

Dig through the wall in their sight and carry the stuff out through the hole.

6 S ous leurs yeux, tu les mettras sur ton épaule, tu les sortiras pendant l'obscurité, tu te couvriras le visage, et tu ne regarderas pas la terre; car je veux que tu sois un signe pour la maison d'Israël.

In their sight you shall bear your baggage upon your shoulder and carry it forth in the dark; you shall cover your face so that you cannot see the land, for I have set you as a sign for the house of Israel.

7 J e fis ce qui m'avait été ordonné: je sortis de jour mes effets comme des effets de voyage, le soir je perçai la muraille avec la main, et je les sortis pendant l'obscurité et les mis sur mon épaule, en leur présence.

And I did as I was commanded. I brought forth my baggage by day, as baggage for exile, and in the evening I dug through the wall with my own hands. I brought out my baggage in the dark, carrying it upon my shoulder in their sight.

8 L e matin, la parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:

And in the morning came the word of the Lord to me, saying,

9 F ils de l'homme, la maison d'Israël, cette famille de rebelles ne t'a-t-elle pas dit: Que fais-tu?

Son of man, has not the house of Israel, the rebellious house, asked you what you are doing?

10 D is-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Cet oracle concerne le prince qui est à Jérusalem, et toute la maison d'Israël qui s'y trouve.

Say to them, Thus says the Lord God: This oracle or revelation concerns the prince in Jerusalem and all the house of Israel who are in it.

11 D is: Je suis pour vous un signe. Ce que j'ai fait, c'est ce qui leur sera fait: Ils iront en exil, en captivité.

Say, I am your sign; as I have done, so shall it be done to them; into banishment, into captivity, they shall go.

12 L e prince qui est au milieu d'eux Mettra son bagage sur l'épaule pendant l'obscurité et partira; On percera la muraille pour le faire sortir; Il se couvrira le visage, Pour que ses yeux ne regardent pas la terre.

And the prince who is in their midst shall lift up his luggage to his shoulder in the dark; then shall he go forth. They shall dig through the wall to carry out through the hole in it. He shall cover his face so that he will not see with his eyes the land.

13 J 'étendrai mon rets sur lui, Et il sera pris dans mon filet; Je l'emmènerai à Babylone, dans le pays des Chaldéens; Mais il ne le verra pas, et il y mourra.

My net also will I spread over him, and he shall be taken in My snare, and I will bring him to Babylonia, to the land of the Chaldeans; yet shall he not see it, though he shall die there.

14 T ous ceux qui l'entourent et lui sont en aide, Et toutes ses troupes, je les disperserai à tous les vents, Et je tirerai l'épée derrière eux.

And I will scatter toward every wind all who are about him to help him, even all his bands; and I will draw out the sword after them.

15 E t ils sauront que je suis l'Éternel, Quand je les répandrai parmi les nations, Quand je les disperserai en divers pays.

And they shall know (recognize, understand, and realize) that I am the Lord, when I shall scatter them among the nations and disperse them in the countries.

16 M ais je laisserai d'eux quelques hommes Qui échapperont à l'épée, à la famine et à la peste, Afin qu'ils racontent toutes leurs abominations Parmi les nations où ils iront. Et ils sauront que je suis l'Éternel.

But I will leave a few survivors who will escape the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, that they may declare and confess all their abominations among the nations to which they go, and they shall know (understand and realize) that I am the Lord.

17 L a parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:

Moreover, the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

18 F ils de l'homme, tu mangeras ton pain avec tremblement, Tu boiras ton eau avec inquiétude et angoisse.

Son of man, eat your bread with shaking, and drink water with trembling and with fearfulness;

19 D is au peuple du pays: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel, Sur les habitants de Jérusalem dans la terre d'Israël! Ils mangeront leur pain avec angoisse, Et ils boiront leur eau avec épouvante; Car leur pays sera dépouillé de tout ce qu'il contient, A cause de la violence de tous ceux qui l'habitent.

And say to the people of the land, Thus says the Lord God concerning the inhabitants of Jerusalem in the land of Israel: They shall eat their bread with fearfulness and drink water with dismay, for their land will be stripped and plundered of all its fullness, because of the violence of all those who dwell in it.

20 L es villes peuplées seront détruites, Et le pays sera ravagé. Et vous saurez que je suis l'Éternel.

And the cities that are inhabited shall be laid waste, and the land shall be deserted and become a desolation; and you shall know (understand and realize) that I am the Lord.

21 L a parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:

And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

22 F ils de l'homme, que signifient ces discours moqueurs Que vous tenez dans le pays d'Israël: Les jours se prolongent, Et toutes les visions restent sans effet?

Son of man, what is this proverb that you have in the land of Israel, saying, The days drag on and every vision comes to nothing and is not fulfilled?

23 C 'est pourquoi dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Je ferai cesser ces discours moqueurs; On ne les tiendra plus en Israël. Dis-leur, au contraire: Les jours approchent, Et toutes les visions s'accompliront.

Tell them therefore, Thus says the Lord God: I will put an end to this proverb, and they shall use it no more as a proverb in Israel. But say to them, The days are at hand and the fulfillment of every vision.

24 C ar il n'y aura plus de visions vaines, Ni d'oracles trompeurs, Au milieu de la maison d'Israël.

For there shall be no more any false, empty, and fruitless vision or flattering divination in the house of Israel.

25 C ar moi, l'Éternel, je parlerai; Ce que je dirai s'accomplira, Et ne sera plus différé; Oui, de vos jours, famille de rebelles, Je prononcerai une parole et je l'accomplirai, Dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel.

For I am the Lord; I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall be performed (come to pass); it shall be no more delayed or prolonged, for in your days, O rebellious house, I will speak the word and will perform it, says the Lord God.

26 L a parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:

Again the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

27 F ils de l'homme, voici, la maison d'Israël dit: Les visions qu'il a ne sont pas près de s'accomplir; Il prophétise pour des temps éloignés.

Son of man, behold, they of the house of Israel say, The vision that sees is for many days to come, and he prophesies of the times that are far off.

28 C 'est pourquoi dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Il n'y aura plus de délai dans l'accomplissement de mes paroles; La parole que je prononcerai s'accomplira, Dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel.

Therefore say to them, Thus says the Lord God: There shall none of My words be deferred any more, but the word which I have spoken shall be performed, says the Lord God.
