1 Y respondió Bildad suhita, y dijo:

Then Bildad the Shuhite answered,

2 E l señorío y el temor están con Dios; El hace paz en sus alturas.

Dominion and fear are with; He makes peace in His high places.

3 ¿ Por ventura sus ejércitos tienen número? ¿Y sobre quién no está su luz?

Is there any number to His armies? And upon whom does not His light arise?

4 ¶ ¿Cómo pues se justificará el hombre con Dios? ¿Y cómo será limpio el que nace de mujer?

How then can man be justified and righteous before God? Or how can he who is born of a woman be pure and clean?

5 H e aquí que ni aun la misma luna será resplandeciente, ni las estrellas son limpias delante de sus ojos.

Behold, even the moon has no brightness and the stars are not pure in His sight—

6 ¿ Cuánto menos el hombre que es un gusano, y el hijo de hombre, también gusano?

How much less man, who is a maggot! And a son of man, who is a worm!
