1 Y aconteció en el mismo año, en el principio del reinado de Sedequías rey de Judá, en el año cuarto, en el quinto mes, que Hananías, hijo de Azur, profeta que era de Gabaón, me habló en la Casa del SEÑOR delante de los sacerdotes y de todo el pueblo, diciendo:

In that same year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year and the fifth month, Hananiah son of Azzur, the prophet, who was from Gibeon, said to me in the house of the Lord in the presence of the priests and all the people:

2 A sí habló el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel, diciendo: Quebranté el yugo del rey de Babilonia.

Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon.

3 D entro de dos años de días tornaré a este lugar todos los vasos de la Casa del SEÑOR, que Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, llevó de este lugar para meterlos en Babilonia;

Within two years will I bring back into this place all the vessels of the Lord’s house that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place and carried to Babylon.

4 y yo tornaré a este lugar a Jeconías hijo de Joacim, rey de Judá, y a todos los transportados de Judá que entraron en Babilonia, dice el SEÑOR; porque yo quebrantaré el yugo del rey de Babilonia.

And I will also bring back to this place Jeconiah son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, with all the exiles from Judah who went to Babylon, says the Lord, for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.

5 Y dijo Jeremías profeta a Hananías profeta, delante de los sacerdotes y delante de todo el pueblo que estaba en la Casa del SEÑOR.

Then the prophet Jeremiah spoke to the prophet Hananiah in the presence of the priests and all the people who stood in the house of the Lord.

6 D ijo pues Jeremías profeta: Amén, así lo haga el SEÑOR. Confirme el SEÑOR tus palabras, con las cuales profetizaste que los vasos de la Casa del SEÑOR, y todos los transportados, han de ser tornados de Babilonia a este lugar.

The prophet Jeremiah said, Amen! May the Lord do so; may the Lord perform your words which you have prophesied to bring back to this place from Babylon the vessels of the Lord’s house and all who were carried away captive.

7 C on todo eso, oye ahora esta palabra que yo hablo en tus oídos y en los oídos de todo el pueblo:

Nevertheless, listen now to and hear this word which I speak in your hearing and in the hearing of all the people:

8 L os profetas que fueron antes de mí y antes de ti en tiempos pasados, profetizaron sobre muchas tierras y grandes reinos, de guerra, y de aflicción, y de pestilencia.

The prophets who were before me and before you from of old prophesied against many countries and against great kingdoms, of war, of evil, and of pestilence.

9 E l profeta que profetizó de paz, cuando sobreviniere la palabra del profeta, será conocido como el profeta que el SEÑOR en verdad envió.

But as for the prophet who prophesies of peace, when that prophet’s word comes to pass, then will it be known that the Lord has truly sent him.

10 Y Hananías profeta quitó el yugo del cuello de Jeremías profeta, y lo quebró,

Then Hananiah the prophet took the yoke bar off the prophet Jeremiah’s neck and smashed it.

11 Y habló Hananías en presencia de todo el pueblo, diciendo: Así dijo el SEÑOR: De esta manera quebraré el yugo de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, del cuello de todos los gentiles dentro de dos años de días. Y siguió Jeremías su camino.

And Hananiah said in the presence of all the people, Thus says the Lord: Even so will I break the yoke bars of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of all the nations within the space of two years. But the prophet Jeremiah went his way.

12 Y después que Hananías profeta quebró el yugo del cuello de Jeremías profeta, vino palabra del SEÑOR a Jeremías, diciendo:

The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the prophet after Hananiah the prophet had broken the yoke bar from the neck of the prophet Jeremiah:

13 V e, y habla a Hananías, diciendo: Así dijo el SEÑOR: Yugos de madera quebraste, mas en vez de ellos harás yugos de hierro.

Go, tell Hananiah, Thus says the Lord: You have broken yoke bars of wood, but you have made in their stead bars of iron.

14 P orque así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: Yugo de hierro puse sobre el cuello de todos estos gentiles, para que sirvan a Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia, y le servirán; y aun también le he dado las bestias del campo.

For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: I have put upon the neck of all these nations the iron yoke of servitude of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and they shall serve him. For I have given him even the beasts of the field.

15 E ntonces dijo Jeremías profeta a Hananías profeta: Ahora oye, Hananías; el SEÑOR no te envió, y tú hiciste a este pueblo confiar en mentira.

Then said the prophet Jeremiah to Hananiah the prophet, Listen now, Hananiah, The Lord has not sent you, but you have made this people trust in a lie.

16 P or tanto, así dijo el SEÑOR: He aquí que yo te envío de sobre la faz de la tierra; y en este año morirás, porque hablaste rebelión contra el SEÑOR.

Therefore thus says the Lord: Behold, I will cast you from the face of the earth. This year you will die, because you have uttered and taught rebellion against the Lord.

17 Y en el mismo año murió Hananías en el mes séptimo.

So Hananiah the prophet died, the same year, in the seventh month.
