1 E n el año primero de Darío hijo de Asuero, de la simiente de los medos, el cual fue puesto por rey sobre el reino de los caldeos;

In the first year of Darius son of Ahasuerus, of the offspring of the Medes, who was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans—

2 e n el año primero de su reinado, yo Daniel miré atentamente en los libros el número de los años, del cual habló el SEÑOR al profeta Jeremías, que había de concluir la asolación de Jerusalén en setenta años.

In the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, understood from the books the number of years which, according to the word of the Lord to Jeremiah the prophet, must pass by before the desolations pronounced on Jerusalem should end; and it was seventy years.

3 Y volví mi rostro al Señor Dios, buscándole en oración y ruego, en ayuno, cilicio, y ceniza.

And I set my face to the Lord God to seek Him by prayer and supplications, with fasting and sackcloth and ashes;

4 Y oré al SEÑOR mi Dios, y confesé, y dije: Ahora Señor, Dios grande, digno de ser temido, que guardas el pacto y la misericordia con los que te aman y guardan tus mandamientos;

And I prayed to the Lord my God and made confession and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, Who keeps covenant, mercy, and loving-kindness with those who love Him and keep His commandments,

5 h emos pecado, hemos hecho iniquidad, hemos obrado impíamente, y hemos sido rebeldes, y nos hemos apartado de tus mandamientos y de tus juicios.

We have sinned and dealt perversely and done wickedly and have rebelled, turning aside from Your commandments and ordinances.

6 N o hemos escuchado a tus siervos los profetas, que en tu nombre hablaron a nuestros reyes, y a nuestros príncipes, a nuestros padres, y a todo el pueblo de la tierra.

Neither have we listened to and heeded Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our kings, our princes and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.

7 T uya es, Señor, la justicia, y nuestra la confusión de rostro, como el día de hoy es a todo hombre de Judá, y a los moradores de Jerusalén, y a todo Israel, a los de cerca y a los de lejos, en todas las tierras adonde los has echado a causa de su rebelión con que contra ti se rebelaron.

O Lord, righteousness belongs to You, but to us confusion and shame of face, as at this day—to the men of Judah, to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel, to those who are near and those who are far off, through all the countries to which You have driven them because of the trespass which they have committed against You.

8 O h SEÑOR, nuestra es la confusión de rostro, de nuestros reyes, de nuestros príncipes, y de nuestros padres; porque contra ti hemos pecado.

O Lord, to us belong confusion and shame of face—to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers—because we have sinned against You.

9 D el SEÑOR nuestro Dios es el tener misericordia, y el perdonar, aunque contra él nos hemos rebelado;

To the Lord our God belong mercy and loving-kindness and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against Him;

10 y no escuchamos a la voz del SEÑOR nuestro Dios, para andar por sus leyes, las cuales puso él delante de nosotros por mano de sus siervos los profetas.

And we have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God by walking in His laws which He set before us through His servants the prophets.

11 Y todo Israel traspasó tu ley apartándose por no oír tu voz; por lo cual ha caído sobre nosotros la maldición, y el juramento que está escrito en la ley de Moisés, siervo de Dios; porque contra él hemos pecado.

Yes, all Israel has transgressed Your law, even turning aside that they might not obey Your voice. Therefore the curse has been poured out on us and the oath that is written in the Law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against Him.

12 Y él afirmó su palabra que habló sobre nosotros, y sobre nuestros jueces que nos gobernaron, trayendo sobre nosotros tan grande mal; que nunca fue hecho debajo del cielo como el que fue hecho en Jerusalén.

And He has carried out intact His words which He threatened against us and against our judges who ruled us, and He has brought upon us a great evil; for under the whole heavens there has not been done before as done against Jerusalem.

13 S egún está escrito en la ley de Moisés, todo este mal vino sobre nosotros; y nunca rogamos a la faz del SEÑOR nuestro Dios, para convertirnos de nuestras iniquidades, y entender tu Verdad.

Just as it is written in the Law of Moses as to all this evil, so it has come upon us. Yet we have not earnestly begged for forgiveness and entreated the favor of the Lord our God, that we might turn from our iniquities and have understanding and become wise in Your truth.

14 Y se apresuró el SEÑOR sobre el castigo, y lo trajo sobre nosotros; porque justo es el SEÑOR nuestro Dios en todas sus obras que hizo, porque no escuchamos su voz.

Therefore the Lord has kept ready the calamity (evil) and has brought it upon us, for the Lord our God is righteous and rigidly just in all His works which He does; and we have not obeyed His voice.

15 A hora pues, Señor Dios nuestro, que sacaste tu pueblo de la tierra de Egipto con mano poderosa, y ganaste para ti Nombre clarísimo, como hasta hoy parece; hemos pecado, impíamente hemos hecho.

And now, O Lord our God, Who brought Your people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand and secured Yourself renown and a name as at this day, we have sinned, we have done wickedly!

16 O h Señor, según toda tu justicia, apartese ahora tu ira y tu furor de sobre tu ciudad Jerusalén, tu santo monte; porque a causa de nuestros pecados, y por la iniquidad de nuestros padres, Jerusalén y todo tu pueblo es dado en vergüenza a todos nuestros alrededores.

O Lord, according to all Your rightness and justice, I beseech You, let Your anger and Your wrath be turned away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain. Because of our sins and the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people have become a reproach and a byword to all who are around about us.

17 A hora pues, Dios nuestro, oye la oración de tu siervo, y sus ruegos, y haz que tu rostro resplandezca sobre tu santuario asolado, por el Señor.

Now therefore, O our God, listen to and heed the prayer of Your servant and his supplications, and for Your own sake cause Your face to shine upon Your sanctuary which is desolate.

18 I nclina, oh Dios mío, tu oído, y oye; abre tus ojos, y mira nuestros asolamientos, y la ciudad sobre la cual es llamado tu Nombre; porque no derramamos nuestros ruegos ante tu presencia confiados en nuestras justicias, sino en tus muchas misericordias.

O my God, incline Your ear and hear; open Your eyes and look at our desolations and the city which is called by Your name; for we do not present our supplications before You for our own righteousness and justice, but for Your great mercy and loving-kindness.

19 O ye, Señor. Perdona Señor. Está atento, Señor, y haz; no pongas dilación, por ti mismo, Dios mío; porque tu Nombre es llamado sobre tu ciudad y sobre tu pueblo.

O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, give heed and act! Do not delay, for Your own sake, O my God, because Your city and Your people are called by Your name.

20 A ún estaba hablando, orando, y confesando mi pecado y el pecado de mi pueblo Israel, y derramaba mi ruego delante del SEÑOR mi Dios por el monte santo de mi Dios;

While I was speaking and praying, confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy hill of my God—

21 a ún estaba hablando en oración, y aquel varón Gabriel, al cual había visto en visión al principio, volando con vuelo, me tocó como a la hora del sacrificio de la tarde.

Yes, while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the former vision, being caused to fly swiftly, came near to me and touched me about the time of the evening sacrifice.

22 Y me hizo entender, y habló conmigo, y dijo: Daniel, ahora he salido para hacerte entender la declaración.

He instructed me and made me understand; he talked with me and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give you skill and wisdom and understanding.

23 A l principio de tus ruegos salió la palabra, y yo he venido para enseñártela, porque tú eres varón de deseos. Entiende, pues, la palabra, y entiende la visión.

At the beginning of your prayers, the word went forth, and I have come to tell you, for you are greatly beloved. Therefore consider the matter and understand the vision.

24 S etenta semanas están determinadas sobre tu pueblo y sobre tu Santa Ciudad, para acabar la prevaricación, y concluir el pecado, y reconciliar la iniquidad; y para traer la justicia de los siglos, y sellar la visión y la profecía, y ungir el lugar santísimo.

Seventy weeks are decreed upon your people and upon your holy city, to finish and put an end to transgression, to seal up and make full the measure of sin, to purge away and make expiation and reconciliation for sin, to bring in everlasting righteousness (permanent moral and spiritual rectitude in every area and relation) to seal up vision and prophecy and prophet, and to anoint a Holy of Holies.

25 S epas, pues, y entiendas, que desde la salida de la palabra para hacer volver el pueblo y edificar a Jerusalén, hasta el Príncipe Ungido, habrá siete semanas y sesenta y dos semanas, entre tanto se tornará a edificar la plaza y el muro en angustia de tiempos.

Know therefore and understand that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem until the Anointed One, a Prince, shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; it shall be built again with square and moat, but in troublous times.

26 Y después de las sesenta y dos semanas el Ungido, será muerto, y nada tendrá: (y el pueblo príncipe que ha de venir, destruirá a la ciudad y el santuario; cuyo fin será como avenida de aguas; hasta que al fin de la guerra sea talada con asolamiento.)

And after the sixty-two weeks shall the Anointed One be cut off or killed and shall have nothing belonging to Him. And the people of the prince who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its end shall come with a flood; and even to the end there shall be war, and desolations are decreed.

27 E n una semana (son ya setenta) confirmará el pacto por muchos, y a la mitad de la semana hará cesar el sacrificio y el presente; y a causa de la multitud de las abominaciones vendrá desolamiento, hasta que perfecto acabamiento se derrame sobre el pueblo abominable.

And he shall enter into a strong and firm covenant with the many for one week. And in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and offering to cease; and upon the wing or pinnacle of abominations one who makes desolate, until the full determined end is poured out on the desolator.
