1 ¶ Y aconteció, pasados muchos días después que el SEÑOR dio reposo a Israel de todos sus enemigos al contorno, que Josué, era viejo, y entrado en días.

A long time after that, when the Lord had given Israel rest from all their enemies round about, and Joshua had grown old and advanced in years,

2 Y Josué llamó a todo Israel, a sus ancianos, a sus príncipes, a sus jueces y a sus oficiales, y les dijo: Yo soy ya viejo y entrado en días;

Joshua summoned all Israel, their elders, heads, judges, and officers, and said to them, I am old and advanced in years.

3 y vosotros habéis visto todo lo que el SEÑOR vuestro Dios ha hecho con todos estos gentiles en vuestra presencia; porque el SEÑOR vuestro Dios ha peleado por vosotros.

And you have seen all that the Lord your God has done to all these nations for your sake; for it is the Lord your God Who has fought for you.

4 H e aquí os he repartido por herencia, a vuestras tribus todos estos gentiles, así los destruidos como los que quedan, desde el Jordán hasta el gran mar hacia donde el sol se pone.

Behold, I have allotted to you as an inheritance for your tribes those nations that remain, with all the nations I have cut off, from the Jordan to the Great Sea on the west.

5 Y el SEÑOR vuestro Dios los echará de delante de vosotros, y los lanzará de vuestra presencia: y vosotros poseeréis sus tierras, como el SEÑOR vuestro Dios os ha dicho.

The Lord your God will thrust them out from before you and drive them out of your sight, and you shall possess their land, as the Lord your God promised you.

6 E sforzaos pues mucho a guardar y hacer todo lo que está escrito en el libro de la ley de Moisés, sin apartaros de ello ni a la diestra ni a la siniestra;

So be very courageous and steadfast to keep and do all that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, turning not aside from it to the right hand or the left,

7 q ue no entrareis a estos gentiles que han quedado con vosotros; no hagáis mención ni juréis por el nombre de sus dioses, ni los honréis, ni os inclinéis a ellos;

That you may not mix with these nations that remain among you, or make mention of the names of their gods or swear by them or serve them or bow down to them.

8 m as al SEÑOR vuestro Dios os aferraréis, como habéis hecho hasta hoy.

But cling to the Lord your God as you have done to this day.

9 P ues ha echado el SEÑOR delante de vosotros grandes y fuertes gentiles, y hasta hoy nadie ha podido parar delante de vuestro rostro.

For the Lord has driven out from before you great and strong nations; and as for you, no man has been able to withstand you to this day.

10 U n varón de vosotros ha perseguido a mil; porque el SEÑOR vuestro Dios, él mismo ha peleado por vosotros, como él os dijo.

One man of you shall put to flight a thousand, for it is the Lord your God Who fights for you, as He promised you.

11 ¶ Por tanto, velad mucho por vuestras almas, para que améis al SEÑOR vuestro Dios.

Be very watchful of yourselves, therefore, to love the Lord your God.

12 P orque si os apartaréis, y os adherís a lo que resta de aquellos gentiles que han quedado con vosotros, y si contraéis con ellos matrimonios, y entrareis a ellas, y ellas a vosotros;

For if you turn back and adhere to the remnant of these nations left among you and make marriages with them, you marrying their women and they yours,

13 s abed que el SEÑOR vuestro Dios no echará más a estos gentiles delante de vosotros; antes os serán por lazo, y por tropiezo, y por azote para vuestros costados, y por espinas para vuestros ojos, hasta tanto que perezcáis de esta buena tierra que el SEÑOR vuestro Dios os ha dado.

Know with certainty that the Lord your God will not continue to drive these nations from before you; but they shall be a snare and trap to you, and a scourge in your sides and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from off this good land which the Lord your God has given you.

14 Y he aquí que yo entro hoy por el camino de toda la tierra; sabed, pues, con todo vuestro corazón y con toda vuestra alma, que no se ha perdido una palabra de todas las buenas palabras que el SEÑOR vuestro Dios había dicho de vosotros; todas os han venido, no se ha perdido de ellas ni una.

And behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth. Know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good things which the Lord your God promised concerning you. All have come to pass for you; not one thing of them has failed.

15 M as será, que como ha venido sobre vosotros toda palabra buena que el SEÑOR vuestro Dios os ha dicho, así también traerá el SEÑOR sobre vosotros toda palabra mala, hasta destruiros de sobre la buena tierra que el SEÑOR vuestro Dios os ha dado;

But just as all good things which the Lord promised you have come to you, so will the Lord carry out every evil upon you, until He has destroyed you from off this good land which the Lord your God has given you.

16 c uando traspasaréis el pacto del SEÑOR vuestro Dios que él os ha mandado, yendo y honrando a dioses ajenos, e inclinándoos a ellos. Y el furor del SEÑOR se inflamará contra vosotros, y luego pereceréis de esta buena tierra que él os ha dado.

If you transgress the covenant of the Lord your God, which He commanded you, if you serve other gods and bow down to them, then the anger of the Lord will be kindled against you, and you shall perish quickly from off the good land He has given you.
