The courses or divisions of the priests, the sons of Aaron, were these: The sons of Aaron: Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

2 M as Nadab, y Abiú murieron antes que su padre, y no tuvieron hijos; Eleazar e Itamar tuvieron el sacerdocio.

But Nadab and Abihu died before their father and had no children; therefore Eleazar and Ithamar executed the priest’s office.

3 Y David los repartió, siendo Sadoc de los hijos de Eleazar, y Ahimelec de los hijos de Itamar, por sus turnos en su ministerio.

And David, with Zadok of the sons of Eleazar and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, divided and distributed them according to their assigned duties.

4 Y los hijos de Eleazar fueron hallados más, cuando fueron contados, que los hijos de Itamar; y los repartieron así: De los hijos de Eleazar había dieciséis cabezas de casas paternas; y de los hijos de Itamar por las casas de sus padres, ocho.

Since there were more chief men found among the sons of Eleazar than among the sons of Ithamar, they were divided thus: sixteen heads of fathers’ houses of the sons of Eleazar and eight of the sons of Ithamar according to their fathers’ houses.

5 L os repartieron, pues, por suerte los unos con los otros; porque de los hijos de Eleazar y de los hijos de Itamar hubo príncipes del santuario, y príncipes de Dios.

Thus were they divided by lot, one group with the other, for there were chiefs of the sanctuary and chiefs of God drawn both from the sons of Eleazar and from the sons of Ithamar.

6 Y Semaías escriba, hijo de Natanael, de los levitas, los escribió delante del rey y de los príncipes, y delante de Sadoc el sacerdote, y de Ahimelec hijo de Abiatar, y de las cabezas de los padres de los sacerdotes y levitas; y adscribían una casa paternal a Eleazar, y a Itamar otra.

Shemaiah the scribe, son of Nethanel, a Levite, recorded them in the presence of the king, the princes, Zadok the priest, Ahimelech son of Abiathar, and the heads of the fathers’ houses of the priests and Levites—one father’s house being taken alternately for Eleazar and one for Ithamar.

7 Y la primera suerte salió por Joiarib, la segunda por Jedaías;

The lots fell, the first one to Jehoiarib, the second to Jedaiah,

8 l a tercera por Harim, la cuarta por Seorim;

The third to Harim, the fourth to Se-orim,

9 l a quinta por Malquías, la sexta por Mijamín;

The fifth to Malchijah, the sixth to Mijamin,

10 l a séptima por Cos, la octava por Abías;

The seventh to Hakkoz, the eighth to Abijah,

11 l a novena por Jesúa, la décima por Secanías;

The ninth to Jeshua, the tenth to Shecaniah,

12 l a undécima por Eliasib, la duodécima por Jaquim;

The eleventh to Eliashib, the twelfth to Jakim,

13 l a decimotercera por Hupa, la decimocuarta por Jesebeab;

The thirteenth to Huppah, the fourteenth to Jeshebe-ab,

14 l a decimoquinta por Bilga, la decimosexta por Imer;

The fifteenth to Bilgah, the sixteenth to Immer,

15 l a decimoséptima por Hezir, la decimoctava por Afses;

The seventeenth to Hezir, the eighteenth to Happizzez,

16 l a decimanovena por Petaías, la vigésima por Hezequiel;

The nineteenth to Pethahiah, the twentieth to Jehezkel,

17 l a vigesimaprimera por Jaquín, la vigesimasegunda por Gamul;

The twenty-first to Jachin, the twenty-second to Gamul,

18 l a vigesimatercera por Delaía, la vigesimacuarta por Maazías.

The twenty-third to Delaiah, the twenty-fourth to Maaziah.

19 E stos fueron ordenados en su ministerio, para que entraran en la Casa del SEÑOR, conforme a su derecho, en el ministerio de Aarón su padre, de la manera que le había mandado el SEÑOR Dios de Israel.

This was their order for coming on duty to serve in the house of the Lord, according to the procedure ordered for them by their Aaron, as the Lord, the God of Israel, had commanded him.

20 Y de los hijos de Leví que quedaron, de los hijos de Amram, Subael; y de los hijos de Subael, Jehedías.

As for the rest of the sons of Levi: of the sons of Amram: Shubael; of the sons of Shubael: Jehdeiah.

21 D e los hijos de Rehabías, Isías el principal.

Of Rehabiah: of the sons of Rehabiah: Isshiah the chief.

22 D e los izharitas, Selomot; e hijo de Selomot, Jahat.

Of the Izharites: Shelomoth; of the sons of Shelomoth: Jahath.

23 Y de los hijos de Jerías: Amarías el segundo, el tercero Jahaziel, el cuarto Jecamán.

The sons of Hebron: Jeriah the first, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, Jekameam the fourth.

24 H ijo de Uziel, Micaía; e hijo de Micaía, Samir.

The son of Uzziel: Micah; of the sons of Micah: Shamir.

25 H ermano de Micaía, Isías; e hijo de Isías, Zacarías.

The brother of Micah: Isshiah; of the sons of Isshiah: Zechariah.

26 L os hijos de Merari: Mahli y Musi; hijo de Jaazías, Beno.

The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The son of Jaaziah: Beno.

27 L os hijos de Merari por Jaazías: Beno, Soham, Zacur e Ibri.

The sons of Merari: by Jaaziah: Beno, Shoham, Zaccur, and Ibri.

28 Y de Mahli, Eleazar, el cual no tuvo hijos.

Of Mahli: Eleazar, who had no sons.

29 C is, hijo de Cis, Jerameel.

Of Kish: the son of Kish: Jerahmeel.

30 L os hijos de Musi: Mahli, Edar y Jerimot. Estos fueron los hijos de los levitas conforme a las casas de sus padres.

The sons of Mushi: Mahli, Eder, and Jerimoth. These were the sons of the Levites, according to their fathers’ houses.

31 E stos también echaron suertes, contra sus hermanos los hijos de Aarón, delante del rey David, y de Sadoc y de Ahimelec, y de los principales de los padres de los sacerdotes y levitas; los principales de los padres contra sus hermanos menores.

These likewise cast lots, as did their kinsmen the sons of Aaron, in the presence of David the king, Zadok, Ahimelech, and the heads of the fathers’ houses of the priests and Levites—the head of each father’s house and his younger brother alike.
