1 L as palabras de Amós, que estuvo entre los pastores de Tecoa, las cuales vio sobre Israel en días de Uzías rey de Judá, y en días de Jeroboam hijo de Joás, rey de Israel, dos años antes del terremoto.

The words of Amos, who was among the herdsmen and sheep masters of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

2 Y dijo: El SEÑOR bramará desde Sion, y dará su voz desde Jerusalén; y las estancias de los pastores serán destruidas, y se secará la cumbre del Carmelo.

And he said, The Lord roars out of Zion and utters His voice from Jerusalem; then the pastures of the shepherds mourn and the top of Carmel dries up.

3 A sí dijo el SEÑOR: Por tres pecados de Damasco, y por el cuarto, no la convertiré; porque trillaron a Galaad con trillos de hierro.

Thus says the Lord: For three transgressions of Damascus and for four, I will not reverse the punishment of it or revoke My word concerning it, because they have threshed Gilead with iron sledges.

4 Y meteré fuego en la casa de Hazael, y consumirá los palacios de Ben-adad.

So I will send a fire upon the house of Hazael which shall devour the palaces and strongholds of Ben-hadad.

5 Y quebraré la barra de Damasco, y talaré los moradores de Bicat-avén, y los gobernadores de Bet-edén; y el pueblo de Siria será transportado a Kir.

I will break also the bar of Damascus and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven or On, and him who holds the scepter from Beth-eden; and the people of Syria shall go into exile to Kir, says the Lord.

6 A sí dijo el SEÑOR: Por tres pecados de Gaza, y por el cuarto, no la convertiré; porque llevó cautiva toda la cautividad, para entregarlos a Edom.

Thus says the Lord: For three transgressions of Gaza and for four, I will not reverse the punishment of it or revoke My word concerning it, because they carried away captive the whole population and delivered them up to Edom.

7 Y meteré fuego en el muro de Gaza, y quemará sus palacios.

So I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza which shall devour its strongholds.

8 Y talaré a los moradores de Azoto, y a los gobernadores de Ascalón; y tornaré mi mano sobre Ecrón, y el remanente de los palestinos perecerá, dijo el Señor DIOS.

And I will cut off the inhabitants from Ashdod and him who holds the scepter from Ashkelon, and I will turn My hand against Ekron; and the rest of the Philistines shall perish, says the Lord God.

9 A sí dijo el SEÑOR: Por tres pecados de Tiro, y por el cuarto, no la convertiré; porque entregaron la cautividad entera a Edom, y no se acordaron del concierto de hermanos.

Thus says the Lord: For three transgressions of Tyre and for four, I will not reverse the punishment of it or revoke My word concerning it, because they delivered up a whole population to Edom and did not remember their brotherly covenant.

10 Y meteré fuego en el muro de Tiro, y consumirá sus palacios.

So I will send a fire on the wall of Tyre which shall devour its strongholds.

11 A sí dijo el SEÑOR: Por tres pecados de Edom, y por el cuarto, no la convertiré; porque persiguió a espada a su hermano, y rompió sus misericordias; y con su furor le ha robado siempre, y ha guardado perpetuamente el enojo.

Thus says the Lord: For three transgressions of Edom and for four, I will not reverse the punishment of it or revoke My word concerning it, because he pursued his brother Jacob (Israel) with the sword, corrupting his compassions and casting off all pity, and his anger tore perpetually and his wrath he kept and heeded forever.

12 Y meteré fuego en Temán, y consumirá los palacios de Bosra.

So I will send a fire upon Teman which shall devour the strongholds of Bozrah.

13 A sí dijo el SEÑOR: Por tres pecados de los hijos de Amón, y por el cuarto, no la convertiré; porque rompieron los montes de Galaad, para ensanchar su término.

Thus says the Lord: For three transgressions of the children of Ammon and for four, I will not reverse the punishment of it or revoke My word concerning it, because have ripped up women with child in Gilead, that they might enlarge their border.

14 Y encenderé fuego en el muro de Rabá, y consumirá sus palacios como con gritos en día de batalla, como con tempestad en día de torbellino;

So I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah and it shall devour the strongholds of it, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind;

15 y su rey irá en cautiverio, él y sus príncipes todos, dijo el SEÑOR.

And their king shall go into exile, he and his princes together, says the Lord.
