1 P alabras de Amós, que fue uno de los pastores de Tecoa, de lo que vio en visión acerca de Israel en días de Uzías, rey de Judá, y en días de Jeroboam, hijo de Joás, rey de Israel, dos años antes del terremoto.

The words of Amos, who was among the herdsmen and sheep masters of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

2 A mós dijo: “El Señor ruge desde Sion, Y desde Jerusalén da Su voz; Los pastizales (rediles) de los pastores están de duelo, Y se seca la cumbre del Monte Carmelo.”

And he said, The Lord roars out of Zion and utters His voice from Jerusalem; then the pastures of the shepherds mourn and the top of Carmel dries up.

3 A sí dice el Señor: “Por tres transgresiones de Damasco, y por cuatro, No revocaré su castigo, Porque trillaron a Galaad con trillos de hierro.

Thus says the Lord: For three transgressions of Damascus and for four, I will not reverse the punishment of it or revoke My word concerning it, because they have threshed Gilead with iron sledges.

4 P or eso enviaré fuego sobre la casa de Hazael, Que consumirá los palacios (las fortalezas) de Ben (Hijo de) Adad.

So I will send a fire upon the house of Hazael which shall devour the palaces and strongholds of Ben-hadad.

5 T ambién romperé el cerrojo de Damasco, Exterminaré al morador del Valle de Avén Y al que empuña el cetro de Bet Edén. El pueblo de Aram será desterrado a Kir,” Dice el Señor.

I will break also the bar of Damascus and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven or On, and him who holds the scepter from Beth-eden; and the people of Syria shall go into exile to Kir, says the Lord.

6 A sí dice el Señor: “Por tres transgresiones de Gaza, y por cuatro, No revocaré su castigo, Por haber deportado a todo un pueblo Para entregar lo a Edom.

Thus says the Lord: For three transgressions of Gaza and for four, I will not reverse the punishment of it or revoke My word concerning it, because they carried away captive the whole population and delivered them up to Edom.

7 E nviaré, pues, fuego sobre la muralla de Gaza, Que consumirá sus palacios.

So I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza which shall devour its strongholds.

8 T ambién exterminaré al morador de Asdod, Y al que empuña el cetro de Ascalón; Desataré Mi poder (Mi mano) contra Ecrón, Y el remanente de los Filisteos perecerá,” Dice el Señor Dios.

And I will cut off the inhabitants from Ashdod and him who holds the scepter from Ashkelon, and I will turn My hand against Ekron; and the rest of the Philistines shall perish, says the Lord God.

9 A sí dice el Señor: “Por tres transgresiones de Tiro, y por cuatro, No revocaré su castigo, Por haber entregado todo un pueblo cautivo a Edom Sin acordarse del pacto de hermanos.

Thus says the Lord: For three transgressions of Tyre and for four, I will not reverse the punishment of it or revoke My word concerning it, because they delivered up a whole population to Edom and did not remember their brotherly covenant.

10 E nviaré, pues, fuego sobre la muralla de Tiro, Que consumirá sus palacios.”

So I will send a fire on the wall of Tyre which shall devour its strongholds.

11 A sí dice el Señor: “Por tres transgresiones de Edom, y por cuatro, No revocaré su castigo, Porque con espada persiguió a su hermano, Y suprimió su compasión; Su ira continuó despedazando Y mantuvo su furor para siempre.

Thus says the Lord: For three transgressions of Edom and for four, I will not reverse the punishment of it or revoke My word concerning it, because he pursued his brother Jacob (Israel) with the sword, corrupting his compassions and casting off all pity, and his anger tore perpetually and his wrath he kept and heeded forever.

12 E nviaré, pues, fuego sobre Temán, Que consumirá los palacios de Bosra.”

So I will send a fire upon Teman which shall devour the strongholds of Bozrah.

13 A sí dice el Señor: “Por tres transgresiones de los Amonitas, y por cuatro, No revocaré su castigo, Porque abrieron los vientres de las mujeres encinta de Galaad Para ensanchar sus fronteras.

Thus says the Lord: For three transgressions of the children of Ammon and for four, I will not reverse the punishment of it or revoke My word concerning it, because have ripped up women with child in Gilead, that they might enlarge their border.

14 E ncenderé, pues, fuego en la muralla de Rabá, Que consumirá sus palacios En medio de gritos de guerra en el día de la batalla, En medio de una tempestad en el día de la tormenta.

So I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah and it shall devour the strongholds of it, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind;

15 S u rey irá al destierro, él y sus príncipes con él,” dice el Señor.

And their king shall go into exile, he and his princes together, says the Lord.
