1 A l tercer día se celebró una boda en Caná de Galilea, y estaba allí la madre de Jesús;

On the third day there was a wedding at Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.

2 y también Jesús fue invitado a la boda, con Sus discípulos.

Jesus also was invited with His disciples to the wedding.

3 C uando se acabó el vino, la madre de Jesús Le dijo: “No tienen vino.”

And when the wine was all gone, the mother of Jesus said to Him, They have no more wine!

4 Y Jesús le dijo: “Mujer, ¿qué nos interesa esto a ti y a Mí ? Todavía no ha llegado Mi hora.”

Jesus said to her, '> Dear] woman, what is that to you and to Me? My time (hour to act) has not yet come.

5 S u madre dijo a los que servían: “Hagan todo lo que El les diga.”

His mother said to the servants, Whatever He says to you, do it.

6 Y había allí seis tinajas de piedra, puestas para ser usadas en el rito de la purificación de los Judíos; en cada una cabían dos o tres cántaros (unos 100 litros).

Now there were six waterpots of stone standing there, as the Jewish custom of purification (ceremonial washing) demanded, holding twenty to thirty gallons apiece.

7 J esús les dijo: “Llenen de agua las tinajas.” Y las llenaron hasta el borde.

Jesus said to them, Fill the waterpots with water. So they filled them up to the brim.

8 E ntonces les dijo: “Saquen ahora un poco y llévenlo al mayordomo.” Y se lo llevaron.

Then He said to them, Draw some out now and take it to the manager of the feast. So they took him some.

9 E l mayordomo probó el agua convertida en vino, sin saber de dónde era, pero los que servían, que habían sacado el agua, lo sabían. Entonces el mayordomo llamó al novio,

And when the manager tasted the water just now turned into wine, not knowing where it came from—though the servants who had drawn the water knew—he called the bridegroom

10 y le dijo: “Todo hombre sirve primero el vino bueno, y cuando ya han tomado bastante, entonces el inferior; pero tú has guardado hasta ahora el vino bueno.”

And said to him, Everyone else serves his best wine first, and when people have drunk freely, then he serves that which is not so good; but you have kept back the good wine until now!

11 E ste principio de Sus señales (milagros) hizo Jesús en Caná de Galilea, y manifestó Su gloria, y Sus discípulos creyeron en El.

This, the first of His signs (miracles, wonderworks), Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory, and His disciples believed in Him.

12 D espués de esto Jesús bajó a Capernaúm con Su madre, Sus hermanos y Sus discípulos; pero no se quedaron allí muchos días. Jesús Echa a los Mercaderes del Templo

After that He went down to Capernaum with His mother and brothers and disciples, and they stayed there only a few days.

13 L a Pascua de los Judíos estaba cerca, y Jesús subió a Jerusalén.

Now the Passover of the Jews was approaching, so Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

14 E n el templo encontró a los que vendían bueyes, ovejas y palomas, y a los que cambiaban dinero allí sentados.

There He found in the temple '> enclosure] those who were selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers sitting there.

15 Y haciendo un látigo de cuerdas, echó a todos fuera del templo, con las ovejas y los bueyes; desparramó las monedas de los que cambiaban el dinero y volcó las mesas.

And having made a lash (a whip) of cords, He drove them all out of the temple '> enclosure]—both the sheep and the oxen—spilling and scattering the brokers’ money and upsetting and tossing around their trays (their stands).

16 A los que vendían palomas les dijo: “Quiten esto de aquí; no hagan de la casa de Mi Padre una casa de comercio.”

Then to those who sold the doves He said, Take these things away (out of here)! Make not My Father’s house a house of merchandise (a marketplace, a sales shop)!

17 S us discípulos se acordaron de que estaba escrito: “ El celo por Tu casa Me consumira.”

And His disciples remembered that it is written, Zeal (the fervor of love) for Your house will eat Me up.

18 E ntonces los Judíos Le dijeron: “Ya que haces estas cosas, ¿qué señal nos muestras?”

Then the Jews retorted, What sign can You show us, seeing You do these things?

19 J esús les respondió: “Destruyan este templo, y en tres días lo levantaré.”

Jesus answered them, Destroy (undo) this temple, and in three days I will raise it up again.

20 E ntonces los Judíos dijeron: “En cuarenta y seis años fue edificado este templo, ¿y Tú lo levantarás en tres días?”

Then the Jews replied, It took forty-six years to build this temple (sanctuary), and will You raise it up in three days?

21 P ero El hablaba del templo de Su cuerpo.

But He had spoken of the temple which was His body.

22 P or eso, cuando resucitó de los muertos, Sus discípulos se acordaron de que había dicho esto; y creyeron en la Escritura y en la palabra que Jesús había hablado. Los Primeros Creyentes en Jerusalén

When therefore He had risen from the dead, His disciples remembered that He said this. And so they believed and trusted and relied on the Scripture and the word (message) Jesus had spoken.

23 C uando Jesús estaba en Jerusalén durante la fiesta de la Pascua, muchos creyeron en Su nombre al ver las señales que hacía.

But when He was in Jerusalem during the Passover Feast, many believed in His name after seeing His signs (wonders, miracles) which He was doing.

24 P ero Jesús, en cambio, no se confiaba en ellos, porque los conocía a todos,

But Jesus did not trust Himself to them, because He knew all;

25 y no tenía necesidad de que nadie Le diera testimonio del hombre, porque El conocía lo que había en el interior del hombre.

And He did not need anyone to bear witness concerning man, for He Himself knew what was in human nature.
