1 E ntonces vi cuando el Cordero abrió uno de los siete sellos, y oí a uno de los cuatro seres vivientes que decía, como con voz de trueno: “Ven.”

Then I saw as the Lamb broke open one of the seven seals, and as if in a voice of thunder I heard one of the four living creatures call out, Come!

2 M iré, y había un caballo blanco. El que estaba montado en él tenía un arco. Se le dio una corona, y salió conquistando y para conquistar.

And I looked, and saw there a white horse whose rider carried a bow. And a crown was given him, and he rode forth conquering and to conquer.

3 C uando el Cordero abrió el segundo sello, oí al segundo ser viviente que decía: “Ven.”

And when He broke the second seal, I heard the second living creature call out, Come!

4 E ntonces salió otro caballo, rojo. Al que estaba montado en él se le concedió quitar la paz de la tierra y que los hombres se mataran unos a otros; y se le dio una gran espada.

And another horse came out, flaming red. And its rider was empowered to take the peace from the earth, so that men slaughtered one another; and he was given a huge sword.

5 C uando el Cordero abrió el tercer sello, oí al tercer ser viviente que decía: “Ven.” Y miré, y había un caballo negro. El que estaba montado en él tenía una balanza en la mano.

When He broke open the third seal, I heard the third living creature call out, Come and look! And I saw, and behold, a black horse, and in his hand the rider had a pair of scales (a balance).

6 Y oí como una voz en medio de los cuatro seres vivientes que decía: “Un litro de trigo por un denario (el salario de un día), y tres litros de cebada por un denario, y no dañes el aceite y el vino.”

And I heard what seemed to be a voice from the midst of the four living creatures, saying, A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; but do not harm the oil and the wine!

7 C uando el Cordero abrió el cuarto sello, oí la voz del cuarto ser viviente que decía: “Ven.”

When the Lamb broke open the fourth seal, I heard the fourth living creature call out, Come!

8 Y miré, y había un caballo amarillento. El que estaba montado en él se llamaba Muerte, y el Hades (región de los muertos) lo seguía. Y se les dio autoridad sobre la cuarta parte de la tierra, para matar con espada, con hambre, con pestilencia y con las fieras de la tierra. El Quinto Sello

So I looked, and behold, an ashy pale horse '> black and blue as if made so by bruising], and its rider’s name was Death, and Hades (the realm of the dead) followed him closely. And they were given authority and power over a fourth part of the earth to kill with the sword and with famine and with plague (pestilence, disease) and with wild beasts of the earth.

9 C uando el Cordero abrió el quinto sello, vi debajo del altar las almas de los que habían sido muertos a causa de la palabra de Dios y del testimonio que habían mantenido.

When the Lamb broke open the fifth seal, I saw at the foot of the altar the souls of those whose lives had been sacrificed for the Word of God and for the testimony they had borne.

10 C lamaban a gran voz: “¿Hasta cuándo, oh Señor santo y verdadero, esperarás para juzgar y vengar nuestra sangre de los que moran en la tierra ?”

They cried in a loud voice, O Lord, holy and true, how long now before You will sit in judgment and avenge our blood upon those who dwell on the earth?

11 Y se les dio a cada uno de ellos una vestidura blanca, y se les dijo que descansaran un poco más de tiempo, hasta que se completara también el número de sus consiervos y de sus hermanos que habrían de ser muertos como ellos lo habían sido. El Sexto Sello

Then they were each given a long and flowing and festive white robe and told to rest and wait patiently a little while longer, until the number should be complete of their fellow servants and their brethren who were to be killed as they themselves had been.

12 V i cuando el Cordero abrió el sexto sello, y hubo un gran terremoto, y el sol se puso negro como cilicio hecho de cerda, y toda la luna se volvió como sangre,

When He broke open the sixth seal, I looked, and there was a great earthquake; and the sun grew black as sackcloth of hair, the moon became like blood.

13 y las estrellas del cielo cayeron a la tierra, como la higuera deja caer sus higos verdes al ser sacudida por un fuerte viento.

And the stars of the sky dropped to the earth like a fig tree shedding its unripe fruit out of season when shaken by a strong wind.

14 E l cielo desapareció como un pergamino que se enrolla, y todo monte e isla fueron removidos de su lugar.

And the sky rolled up like a scroll and vanished, and every mountain and island was dislodged from its place.

15 L os reyes de la tierra, y los grandes, los comandantes, los ricos, los poderosos, y todo siervo y todo libre, se escondieron en las cuevas y entre las peñas de los montes,

Then the kings of the earth and their noblemen and their magnates and their military chiefs and the wealthy and the strong and slave or free hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains,

16 y decían a los montes y a las peñas: “Caigan sobre nosotros y escóndannos de la presencia de Aquél que está sentado en el trono y de la ira del Cordero.

And they called to the mountains and the rocks, Fall on (before) us and hide us from the face of Him Who sits on the throne and from the deep-seated indignation and wrath of the Lamb.

17 P orque ha llegado el gran día de la ira de ellos, ¿y quién podrá sostenerse (mantenerse en pie) ?”

For the great day of His wrath (vengeance, retribution, indignation) has come, and who is able to stand before it?
