1 C anten de júbilo en el Señor, ustedes los justos; Apropiada es para los rectos la alabanza.

Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous; for praise is becoming and appropriate for those who are upright.

2 D en gracias al Señor con la lira; Canténle alabanzas con el arpa de diez cuerdas.

Give thanks to the Lord with the lyre; sing praises to Him with the harp of ten strings.

3 C ántenle cántico nuevo; Tañan con arte, con voz de júbilo.

Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully with a loud and joyful sound.

4 P orque la palabra del Señor es recta, Y toda su obra es hecha con fidelidad.

For the word of the Lord is right; and all His work is done in faithfulness.

5 E l ama la justicia y el derecho; Llena está la tierra de la misericordia del Señor.

He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the loving-kindness of the Lord.

6 P or la palabra del Señor fueron hechos los cielos, Y todo su ejército por el aliento de Su boca.

By the word of the Lord were the heavens made, and all their host by the breath of His mouth.

7 E l junta las aguas del mar como un montón; Pone en almacenes los abismos.

He gathers the waters of the sea as in a bottle; He puts the deeps in storage places.

8 T ema al Señor toda la tierra; Tiemblen en Su presencia todos los habitantes del mundo.

Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.

9 P orque El habló, y fue hecho; El mandó, y todo se confirmó.

For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.

10 E l Señor hace nulo el consejo de las naciones; Frustra los designios de los pueblos.

The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nought; He makes the thoughts and plans of the peoples of no effect.

11 E l consejo del Señor permanece para siempre, Los designios de Su corazón de generación en generación.

The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the thoughts of His heart through all generations.

12 B ienaventurada la nación cuyo Dios es el Señor, El pueblo que El ha escogido como Su herencia.

Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen as His heritage.

13 E l Señor mira desde los cielos; El ve a todos los hijos de los hombres.

The Lord looks from heaven, He beholds all the sons of men;

14 D esde el lugar de su morada El observa A todos los habitantes de la tierra;

From His dwelling place He looks upon all the inhabitants of the earth—

15 E l es el que modela el corazón de cada uno de ellos; El es el que entiende todas las obras de ellos.

He Who fashions the hearts of them all, Who considers all their doings.

16 E l rey no se salva por gran ejército; Ni es librado el valiente por la mucha fuerza.

No king is saved by the great size and power of his army; a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.

17 F alsa esperanza de victoria (salvación) es el caballo, Ni con su mucha fuerza puede librar.

A horse is devoid of value for victory; neither does he deliver any by his great power.

18 L os ojos del Señor están sobre los que Le temen, Sobre los que esperan en Su misericordia,

Behold, the Lord’s eye is upon those who fear Him, who wait for Him and hope in His mercy and loving-kindness,

19 P ara librar su alma de la muerte, Y conservarlos con vida en tiempos de hambre.

To deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.

20 N uestra alma espera al Señor; El es nuestra ayuda y nuestro escudo;

Our inner selves wait for the Lord; He is our Help and our Shield.

21 P ues en El se regocija nuestro corazón, Porque en Su santo nombre hemos confiado.

For in Him does our heart rejoice, because we have trusted (relied on and been confident) in His holy name.

22 S ea sobre nosotros Tu misericordia, oh Señor, Según hemos esperado en Ti.

Let Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, be upon us, in proportion to our waiting and hoping for You.
