1 A legraos, justos, en Jehová; en los íntegros es hermosa la alabanza.

Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous; for praise is becoming and appropriate for those who are upright.

2 A clamad a Jehová con arpa; cantadle con salterio y decacordio.

Give thanks to the Lord with the lyre; sing praises to Him with the harp of ten strings.

3 C antadle cántico nuevo; ¡hacedlo bien, tañendo con júbilo!,

Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully with a loud and joyful sound.

4 p orque recta es la palabra de Jehová y toda su obra es hecha con fidelidad.

For the word of the Lord is right; and all His work is done in faithfulness.

5 É l ama la justicia y el derecho; de la misericordia de Jehová está llena la tierra.

He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the loving-kindness of the Lord.

6 P or la palabra de Jehová fueron hechos los cielos; y todo el ejército de ellos, por el aliento de su boca.

By the word of the Lord were the heavens made, and all their host by the breath of His mouth.

7 É l junta como montón las aguas del mar; él pone en depósitos los abismos.

He gathers the waters of the sea as in a bottle; He puts the deeps in storage places.

8 ¡ Tema a Jehová toda la tierra! ¡Tiemblen delante de él todos los habitantes del mundo!,

Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.

9 p orque él dijo, y fue hecho; él mandó, y existió.

For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.

10 J ehová hace nulo el plan de las naciones y frustra las maquinaciones de los pueblos.

The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nought; He makes the thoughts and plans of the peoples of no effect.

11 E l plan de Jehová permanecerá para siempre; los pensamientos de su corazón, por todas las generaciones.

The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the thoughts of His heart through all generations.

12 B ienaventurada la nación cuyo Dios es Jehová, el pueblo que él escogió como heredad para sí.

Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen as His heritage.

13 D esde los cielos miró Jehová; vio a todos los hijos de los hombres;

The Lord looks from heaven, He beholds all the sons of men;

14 d esde el lugar de su morada miró sobre todos los habitantes de la tierra.

From His dwelling place He looks upon all the inhabitants of the earth—

15 É l formó el corazón de todos ellos; atento está a todas sus obras.

He Who fashions the hearts of them all, Who considers all their doings.

16 E l rey no se salva por la multitud del ejército ni escapa el valiente por la mucha fuerza.

No king is saved by the great size and power of his army; a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.

17 V ano para salvarse es el caballo; la grandeza de su fuerza a nadie podrá librar.

A horse is devoid of value for victory; neither does he deliver any by his great power.

18 E l ojo de Jehová está sobre los que lo temen, sobre los que esperan en su misericordia,

Behold, the Lord’s eye is upon those who fear Him, who wait for Him and hope in His mercy and loving-kindness,

19 p ara librar sus almas de la muerte y para darles vida en tiempo de hambre.

To deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.

20 N uestra alma espera a Jehová; nuestra ayuda y nuestro escudo es él.

Our inner selves wait for the Lord; He is our Help and our Shield.

21 P or tanto, en él se alegrará nuestro corazón, porque en su santo nombre hemos confiado.

For in Him does our heart rejoice, because we have trusted (relied on and been confident) in His holy name.

22 ¡ Sea tu misericordia, Jehová, sobre nosotros, según esperamos en ti!

Let Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, be upon us, in proportion to our waiting and hoping for You.
