1 P rofecía sobre Egipto. «He aquí que Jehová monta sobre una ligera nube y entrará en Egipto. Los ídolos de Egipto temblarán delante de él, y desfallecerá el corazón de los egipcios dentro de ellos.

The mournful, inspired prediction (a burden to be lifted up) concerning Egypt: Behold, the Lord is riding on a swift cloud and comes to Egypt; and the idols of Egypt will tremble at His presence, and the hearts of the Egyptians will melt within them.

2 L evantaré a egipcios contra egipcios y cada uno peleará contra su hermano, cada uno contra su prójimo; ciudad contra ciudad y reino contra reino.

And I will stir up Egyptians against Egyptians, and they will fight, every one against his brother and every one against his neighbor, city against city, kingdom against kingdom.

3 E l espíritu de Egipto se desvanecerá en medio de él, y destruiré sus planes. Entonces consultarán a sus imágenes, a sus hechiceros, a sus evocadores y a sus adivinos.

And the spirit of the Egyptians within them will become exhausted and emptied out and will fail, and I will destroy their counsel and confound their plans; and they will seek counsel from the idols and the sorcerers, and from those having familiar spirits (the mediums) and the wizards.

4 E ntregaré a Egipto en manos de un amo duro, y un rey violento se enseñoreará de ellos», dice el Señor, Jehová de los ejércitos.

And I will give over the Egyptians into the hand of a hard and cruel master, and a fierce king will rule over them, says the Lord, the Lord of hosts.

5 L as aguas del mar faltarán, y el río se agotará y se secará.

And the waters shall fail from the Nile, and the river shall be wasted and become dry.

6 S e alejarán los ríos, se agotarán y secarán las zanjas; la caña y el junco serán cortados.

And the rivers shall become foul, the streams and canals of Egypt shall be diminished and dried up, the reeds and the rushes shall wither and rot away.

7 L as praderas junto al río, junto a las riberas del río, y toda sementera del río se secarán, se perderán y no serán más.

The meadows by the Nile, by the brink of the Nile, and all the sown fields of the Nile shall become dry, be blown away, and be no more.

8 L os pescadores también se entristecerán; harán duelo todos los que al río arrojan el anzuelo, y desfallecerán los que lanzan la red sobre las aguas.

The fishermen will lament, and all who cast a hook into the Nile will mourn; and they who spread nets upon the waters will languish.

9 L os que trabajan el lino fino y los que tejen redes serán confundidos,

Moreover, they who work with combed flax and they who weave white cloth will be confounded and in despair.

10 p orque todas sus redes serán rotas, y se afligirán todos los que hacen viveros para peces.

the pillars and foundations of Egypt will be crushed, and all those who work for hire or who build dams will be grieved.

11 C iertamente son necios los príncipes de Zoán; los planes de los prudentes consejeros del faraón se han desvanecido. ¿Cómo diréis al faraón: «Yo soy hijo de los sabios e hijo de los reyes antiguos»?

The princes of Zoan are utterly foolish; the counsel of the wisest counselors of Pharaoh has become witless (stupid). How can you say to Pharaoh, I am a son of the wise, a son of ancient kings?

12 ¿ Dónde están ahora tus sabios? Que te digan ahora, que te hagan saber qué es lo que Jehová de los ejércitos ha determinado sobre Egipto.

Where then are your wise men? Let them tell you now, and let them make known what the Lord of hosts has purposed against Egypt.

13 S e han desvanecido los príncipes de Zoán, se han engañado los príncipes de Menfis; engañaron a Egipto los que son la piedra angular de sus familias.

The princes of Zoan have become fools, and the princes of Memphis are confused and deceived; those who are the cornerstones of her tribes have led Egypt astray.

14 J ehová mezcló un espíritu de vértigo en medio de él, y extraviaron a Egipto en toda su obra, como tambalea el ebrio cuando vomita.

The Lord has mingled a spirit of perverseness, error, and confusion within her; have caused Egypt to stagger in all her doings, as a drunken man staggers in his vomit.

15 Y no aprovechará a Egipto cosa que haga la cabeza o la cola, la rama o el junco.

Neither can any work accomplish anything for Egypt, whether by head or tail, palm branch or rush.

16 E n aquel día los egipcios serán como mujeres, porque temblarán llenos de miedo ante la presencia de la mano amenazante de Jehová de los ejércitos, que él levantará contra ellos.

In that day will the Egyptians be like women; and they will tremble and fear because of the shaking of the hand of the Lord of hosts which He shakes over them.

17 Y la tierra de Judá será un espanto para Egipto; todo hombre que de ella se acuerde, temerá por causa del plan que Jehová de los ejércitos preparó contra él.

And the land of Judah shall become a terror to the Egyptians; everyone to whom mention of it is made will be afraid and everyone who mentions it—to him will they turn in fear, because of the purpose of the Lord of hosts which He purposes against Egypt.

18 E n aquel tiempo habrá cinco ciudades en la tierra de Egipto que hablen la lengua de Canaán y que juren por Jehová de los ejércitos; una será llamada la ciudad de Herez.

In that day there will be five cities in the land of Egypt that speak the language of Canaan and swear allegiance to the Lord of hosts. One of them will be called the City of the Sun or Destruction.

19 E n aquel tiempo habrá un altar para Jehová en medio de la tierra de Egipto y un monumento a Jehová junto a su frontera.

In that day there will be an altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the Lord at its border.

20 S erá por señal y por testimonio a Jehová de los ejércitos en la tierra de Egipto, porque clamarán a Jehová a causa de sus opresores, y él les enviará un salvador y defensor que los libre.

And it will be a sign and a witness to the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to the Lord because of oppressors, and He will send them a savior, even a mighty one, and he will deliver them.

21 J ehová se dará a conocer a Egipto, y los de Egipto conocerán a Jehová en aquel día. Harán sacrificio y oblación; harán votos a Jehová y los cumplirán.

And the Lord will make Himself known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know (have knowledge of, be acquainted with, give heed to, and cherish) the Lord in that day and will worship with sacrifices of animal and vegetable offerings; they will vow a vow to the Lord and perform it.

22 Y herirá Jehová a Egipto: lo herirá y lo sanará. Ellos se convertirán a Jehová y él les será clemente y los sanará.

And the Lord shall smite Egypt, smiting and healing it; and they will return to the Lord, and He will listen to their entreaties and heal them.

23 E n aquel tiempo habrá una calzada de Egipto hasta Asiria, y entrarán asirios en Egipto y egipcios en Asiria; y los egipcios y los asirios servirán juntos a Jehová.

In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian will come into Egypt and the Egyptian into Assyria; and the Egyptians will worship with the Assyrians.

24 E n aquel tiempo, Israel será tercero con Egipto y con Asiria, para bendición en medio de la tierra,

In that day Israel shall be the third, with Egypt and with Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the earth,

25 p orque Jehová de los ejércitos los bendecirá diciendo: «Bendito sea Egipto, pueblo mío; y Asiria, obra de mis manos; e Israel, mi heredad».

Whom the Lord of hosts has blessed, saying, Blessed be Egypt My people and Assyria the work of My hands and Israel My heritage.
