1 E l rey Nabucodonosor hizo una estatua de oro, cuya altura era de sesenta codos y la anchura de seis codos; la levantó en el campo de Dura, en la provincia de Babilonia.

Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was sixty cubits or ninety feet and its breadth six cubits or nine feet. He set it up on the plain of Dura in the province of Babylon.

2 Y ordenó el rey Nabucodonosor que se reunieran los sátrapas, los magistrados, capitanes, oidores, tesoreros, consejeros, jueces y todos los gobernadores de las provincias, para que vinieran a la dedicación de la estatua que el rey Nabucodonosor había levantado.

Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the satraps, the deputies, the governors, the judges and chief stargazers, the treasurers, the counselors, the sheriffs and lawyers, and all the chief officials of the provinces to come to the dedication of the image which King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

3 S e reunieron, pues, los sátrapas, magistrados, capitanes, oidores, tesoreros, consejeros, jueces y todos los gobernadores de las provincias, para la dedicación de la estatua que el rey Nabucodonosor había levantado; y estaban en pie delante de la estatua que había levantado el rey Nabucodonosor.

Then the satraps, the deputies, the governors, the judges and chief stargazers, the treasurers, the counselors, the sheriffs and lawyers, and all the chief officials of the provinces were gathered together for the dedication of the image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up, and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

4 Y el pregonero anunciaba en alta voz: «Se os ordena a vosotros, pueblos, naciones y lenguas,

Then the herald cried aloud, You are commanded, O peoples, nations, and languages,

5 q ue al oír el son de la bocina, la flauta, la cítara, el arpa, el salterio, la zampoña y todo instrumento de música, os postréis y adoréis la estatua de oro que el rey Nabucodonosor ha levantado;

That when you hear the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, dulcimer or bagpipe, and every kind of music, you are to fall down and worship the golden image that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up.

6 y cualquiera que no se postre y adore, inmediatamente será echado dentro de un horno de fuego ardiente.»

And whoever does not fall down and worship shall that very hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.

7 P or lo cual, al oír todos los pueblos el son de la bocina, la flauta, la cítara, el arpa, el salterio, la zampoña y todo instrumento de música, todos los pueblos, naciones y lenguas se postraron y adoraron la estatua de oro que el rey Nabucodonosor había levantado.

Therefore, when all the peoples heard the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, dulcimer or bagpipe, and every kind of music, all the peoples, nations, and languages fell down and worshiped the golden image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

8 P or esto, en aquel tiempo algunos hombres caldeos vinieron y acusaron maliciosamente a los judíos.

Therefore at that time certain men of Chaldean descent came near and brought accusations against the Jews.

9 H ablaron y dijeron al rey Nabucodonosor: —¡Rey, para siempre vive!

They said to King Nebuchadnezzar, O king, live forever!

10 T ú, rey, has dado una ley que todo hombre, al oír el son de la bocina, la flauta, la cítara, el arpa, el salterio, la zampoña y todo instrumento de música, se postre y adore la estatua de oro;

You, O king, have made a decree that every man who hears the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, dulcimer or bagpipe, and every kind of music shall fall down and worship the golden image,

11 y el que no se postre y adore, sea echado dentro de un horno de fuego ardiente.

And that whoever does not fall down and worship shall be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.

12 H ay unos hombres judíos, a los cuales pusiste sobre los negocios de la provincia de Babilonia: Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego; estos hombres, oh rey, no te han respetado; no adoran a tus dioses ni adoran la estatua de oro que has levantado.

There are certain Jews whom you have appointed and set over the affairs of the province of Babylon—Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. These men, O king, pay no attention to you; they do not serve your gods or worship the golden image which you have set up.

13 E ntonces Nabucodonosor dijo con ira y con enojo que trajeran a Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego. Al instante fueron traídos delante del rey.

Then Nebuchadnezzar in rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; and these men were brought before the king.

14 H abló Nabucodonosor y les dijo: —¿Es verdad, Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego, que vosotros no honráis a mi dios ni adoráis la estatua de oro que he levantado?

Nebuchadnezzar said to them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the golden image which I have set up?

15 A hora, pues, ¿estáis dispuestos para que, al oír el son de la bocina, la flauta, la cítara, el arpa, el salterio, la zampoña y todo instrumento de música, os postréis y adoréis la estatua que he hecho? Porque si no la adoráis, en la misma hora seréis echados en medio de un horno de fuego ardiente, ¿y qué dios será el que os libre de mis manos?

Now if you are ready when you hear the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, dulcimer or bagpipe, and every kind of music to fall down and worship the image which I have made, very good. But if you do not worship, you shall be cast at once into the midst of a burning fiery furnace, and who is that god who can deliver you out of my hands?

16 S adrac, Mesac y Abed-nego respondieron al rey Nabucodonosor, diciendo: —No es necesario que te respondamos sobre este asunto.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, it is not necessary for us to answer you on this point.

17 N uestro Dios, a quien servimos, puede librarnos del horno de fuego ardiente; y de tus manos, rey, nos librará.

If our God Whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, He will deliver us out of your hand, O king.

18 Y si no, has de saber, oh rey, que no serviremos a tus dioses ni tampoco adoraremos la estatua que has levantado.

But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image which you have set up!

19 E ntonces Nabucodonosor se llenó de ira, cambió el aspecto de su rostro contra Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego y ordenó que el horno se calentara siete veces más de lo acostumbrado.

Then Nebuchadnezzar was full of fury and his facial expression was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Therefore he commanded that the furnace should be heated seven times hotter than it was usually heated.

20 Y ordenó a hombres muy vigorosos que tenía en su ejército, que ataran a Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego, para echarlos en el horno de fuego ardiente.

And he commanded the strongest men in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.

21 A sí pues, estos hombres fueron atados con sus mantos, sus calzados, sus turbantes y sus vestidos, y fueron echados dentro del horno de fuego ardiente.

Then these men were bound in their cloaks, their tunics or undergarments, their turbans, and their other clothing, and they were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

22 Y como la orden del rey era apremiante, y habían calentado mucho el horno, la llama del fuego mató a aquellos que habían alzado a Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego.

Therefore because the king’s commandment was urgent and the furnace exceedingly hot, the flame and sparks from the fire killed those men who handled Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

23 E stos tres hombres, Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego, cayeron atados dentro del horno de fuego ardiente.

And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the burning fiery furnace.

24 E ntonces el rey Nabucodonosor se espantó, se levantó apresuradamente y dijo a los de su consejo: —¿No echaron a tres hombres atados dentro del fuego? Ellos respondieron al rey: —Es verdad, oh rey.

Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astounded, and he jumped up and said to his counselors, Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered, True, O king.

25 Y él dijo: —Sin embargo, yo veo cuatro hombres sueltos, que se pasean en medio del fuego sin sufrir ningún daño; y el aspecto del cuarto es semejante a un hijo de los dioses.

He answered, Behold, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they are not hurt! And the form of the fourth is like a son of the gods!

26 E ntonces Nabucodonosor se acercó a la puerta del horno de fuego ardiente, y dijo: —Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego, siervos del Dios Altísimo, salid y venid. Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego salieron de en medio del fuego.

Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, you servants of the Most High God, come out and come here. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came out from the midst of the fire.

27 Y se juntaron los sátrapas, los gobernadores, los capitanes y los consejeros del rey para mirar a estos hombres, cómo el fuego no había tenido poder alguno sobre sus cuerpos y ni aun el cabello de sus cabezas se había quemado; sus ropas, intactas, ni siquiera olor de fuego tenían.

And the satraps, the deputies, the governors, and the king’s counselors gathered around together and saw these men—that the fire had no power upon their bodies, nor was the hair of their head singed; neither were their garments scorched or changed in color or condition, nor had even the smell of smoke clung to them.

28 Y Nabucodonosor dijo: «Bendito sea el Dios de Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego, que envió su ángel y libró a sus siervos que confiaron en él, los cuales no cumplieron el edicto del rey y entregaron sus cuerpos antes que servir y adorar a otro dios que su Dios.

Then Nebuchadnezzar said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, Who has sent His angel and delivered His servants who believed in, trusted in, and relied on Him! And they set aside the king’s command and yielded their bodies rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.

29 P or lo tanto, decreto que todo pueblo, nación o lengua que diga blasfemia contra el Dios de Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego, sea descuartizado, y su casa convertida en estercolero; por cuanto no hay dios que pueda librar como éste.»

Therefore I make a decree that any people, nation, and language that speaks anything amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego shall be cut in pieces and their houses be made a dunghill, for there is no other God who can deliver in this way!

30 E ntonces el rey engrandeció a Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego en la provincia de Babilonia.

Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the province of Babylon.
