1 « Sacerdotes, oíd esto, casa de Israel, estad atentos, casa del rey, escuchad: Contra vosotros es el juicio, pues habéis sido un lazo en Mizpa, una red tendida sobre Tabor.

Hear this, O you priests! And listen, O house of Israel! And give ear, O house of the king! For the judgment pronounced pertains to you and is meant for you, because you have been a snare at Mizpah and a net spread upon Tabor.

2 H aciendo víctimas han bajado hasta lo profundo; por tanto, los castigaré a todos ellos.

The revolters are deeply sunk in corruption and slaughter, but I am a rebuke and a chastisement for them all.

3 Y o conozco a Efraín, e Israel no me es desconocido; tú, Efraín, ahora te has prostituido, y se ha contaminado Israel.»

I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from Me; for now, O Ephraim, you have played the harlot and have worshiped idols; Israel is defiled.

4 N o piensan en convertirse a su Dios, pues en medio de ellos hay un espíritu de fornicación y no conocen a Jehová.

Their doings will not permit them to return to their God, for the spirit of harlotry is within them and they know not the Lord.

5 L a soberbia de Israel testificará en su contra; Israel y Efraín tropezarán por su pecado, y Judá tropezará también con ellos.

But the pride and self-reliance of Israel testifies before his face. Therefore shall Israel, and Ephraim, totter and fall in their iniquity and guilt, and Judah shall stumble and fall with them.

6 C on sus ovejas y con sus vacas andarán buscando a Jehová, mas no lo hallarán: ¡Se ha apartado de ellos!

They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek the Lord, but they will not find Him; He has withdrawn Himself from them.

7 C ontra Jehová prevaricaron, porque han engendrado hijos de extraños; ahora serán consumidos en un solo mes ellos y sus heredades.

They have dealt faithlessly and treacherously with the Lord, for they have borne alien children. Now shall a New Moon (one month) devour them with their fields.

8 ¡ Tocad la bocina en Gabaa y la trompeta en Ramá! ¡Sonad la alarma en Bet-avén! ¡Alerta, Benjamín!

Blow the horn in Gibeah and the trumpet in Ramah. Sound the alarm at Beth-aven: behind you and after you, O Benjamin!

9 E fraín será asolado en el día del castigo; entre las tribus de Israel hice conocer la verdad.

Ephraim shall become a desolation in the day of rebuke and punishment. Among the tribes of Israel I declare what shall surely be.

10 « Los príncipes de Judá han sido como los que traspasan los linderos; ¡pero sobre ellos derramaré a raudales mi ira!

The princes of Judah are like those who remove the landmark; I will pour out My wrath upon them like water.

11 E fraín está oprimido, violados sus derechos, porque quiso andar en pos de vanidades.

Ephraim is oppressed; he is broken and crushed by judgment, because he was content to walk after idols (images) and man’s command ( vanities and filth ).

12 Y o, pues, seré como polilla a Efraín y como carcoma a la casa de Judá.

Therefore I am like a moth to Ephraim and like dry rot to the house of Judah.

13 V erá Efraín su enfermedad y Judá su llaga; irá entonces Efraín a Asiria y pedirá ayuda al gran rey, pero él no podrá sanaros ni os curará la llaga.

When Ephraim saw his sickness and Judah saw his wound, then Ephraim went to Assyria and sent to great King Jareb. Yet he cannot heal you nor will he cure you of your wound.

14 P orque yo seré como león a Efraín y como cachorro de león a la casa de Judá; yo, yo mismo los despedazaré, y me iré; los arrebataré, y nadie podrá librarlos. Insinceridad del arrepentimiento de Israel

For I will be to Ephraim like a lion, and like a young lion to the house of Judah. I, even I, will rend and go on; I will carry off and there will be no one to deliver.

15 » Volveré luego a mi lugar, hasta que reconozcan su pecado y busquen mi rostro. ¡En medio de su angustia me buscarán!»

I will return to My place until they acknowledge their offense and feel their guilt and seek My face; in their affliction and distress they will seek, inquire for, and require Me earnestly, saying,
