1 ك َلامُ عامُوسَ الَّذِي كانَ مِنَ الرُّعاةِ فِي مَدِينَةِ تَقُوعَ. وَقَدْ تَلَقَّى هَذا الكَلامَ فِي رُؤَىً عَنْ إسْرائِيلَ فِي فَترَةِ حُكمِ المَلِكِ عُزِّيّا مَلِكِ يَهُوذا، وَفَترَةِ حُكمِ المَلِكِ يَرُبْعامَ مَلِكِ إسْرائِيلَ، قَبلَ الهِزَّةِ الأرْضِيَّةِ بِسَنَتَينِ.

The words of Amos, who was among the herdsmen and sheep masters of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

2 ق الَ عامُوسُ: «يَزْأرُ اللهُ مِنْ صِهْيَوْنَ كَأسَدٍ يَستَعِدُّ لِلهُجُومِ، وَمِنْ مَدينَةِ القُدْسِ يَرفَعُ صَوتَهُ. مَراعِي الرُّعاةِ سَتَجِفُّ، وَقِمَّةُ جَبَلِ الكَرْمَلِ سَتَيبَسُ.» عِقابُ أرام

And he said, The Lord roars out of Zion and utters His voice from Jerusalem; then the pastures of the shepherds mourn and the top of Carmel dries up.

3 ه َذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ اللهُ: «بِسَبَبِ ذُنُوبِ شَعبِ دِمَشقَ المُتَكَرِّرَةِ وَالمُتَضاعِفَةِ، سَأُعاقِبُهُمْ، لأنَّهُمْ سَحَقُوا شَعبَ جِلْعادَ بِدَرّاساتٍ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ.

Thus says the Lord: For three transgressions of Damascus and for four, I will not reverse the punishment of it or revoke My word concerning it, because they have threshed Gilead with iron sledges.

4 ل ِذَلِكَ سَأُرسِلُ ناراً عَلَى قَصْرِ المَلِكِ حَزائِيلَ، لِتَلْتَهِمَ قُصُورَ المَلِكِ بَنْهَدَدَ بِالكامِلِ.

So I will send a fire upon the house of Hazael which shall devour the palaces and strongholds of Ben-hadad.

5 و َسَأُحَطِّمُ مِزلاجَ بَوّابَةِ دِمَشقَ. سَأُهلِكُ الحاكِمَ فِي وادِي آوَنَ، وَالَّذِي يُمسِكُ بِالصُّولَجانِ فِي بَيتَ عَدْنٍ. وَسَيُسْبَى شَعبُ أرامَ إلَى قِيرَ.» هَذا هُوَ ما قالَهُ اللهُ. عِقابُ الفِلَسطِيِّين

I will break also the bar of Damascus and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven or On, and him who holds the scepter from Beth-eden; and the people of Syria shall go into exile to Kir, says the Lord.

6 ه َذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ الرَّبُّ الإلَهُ: «بِسَبَبِ ذُنُوبِ شَعبِ غَزَّةَ المُتَكَرِّرَةِ وَالمُتَضاعِفَةِ، سَأُعاقِبُهُمْ لِأنَّهُمْ أمسَكُوا كَثِيرِينَ لِيَبِيعُوهُمْ كَعَبِيدٍ لِأدُومَ.

Thus says the Lord: For three transgressions of Gaza and for four, I will not reverse the punishment of it or revoke My word concerning it, because they carried away captive the whole population and delivered them up to Edom.

7 و َلِذَلِكَ سَأُرسِلُ ناراً عَلَى سُورِ غَزَّةَ، فَتُحْرِقُ قُصُورَها بِالكامِلِ.

So I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza which shall devour its strongholds.

8 و سَأُهلِكُ حُكّامَ أشدُودَ، وَمَن يُمسِكُ بِالصُّولجانِ فِي أشقَلُونَ. وَسَأُوَجِّهُ يَدِي ضِدَّ عَقْرُونَ. الفَلَسطِيُّونَ الَّذِينَ يَنجُونَ سَيَمُوتُونَ.» هَذا هُوَ ما قالَهُ اللهُ. عِقابُ صُور

And I will cut off the inhabitants from Ashdod and him who holds the scepter from Ashkelon, and I will turn My hand against Ekron; and the rest of the Philistines shall perish, says the Lord God.

9 ه َذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ اللهُ: «بِسَبَبِ ذُنُوبِ شَعبِ صُورَ المُتَكَرَّرَةِ وَالمُتَضاعِفَةِ، سَأُعاقِبُهُمْ، لأنَّهُمْ أمَسَكُوا كَثِيرِينَ لِيَبِيعُوهُمْ كَعَبِيدٍ لِأدُومَ، وَلَمْ يَحتَرِمُوا عَهدَ الأُخُوَّةِ الَّذِي قَطَعُوهُ.

Thus says the Lord: For three transgressions of Tyre and for four, I will not reverse the punishment of it or revoke My word concerning it, because they delivered up a whole population to Edom and did not remember their brotherly covenant.

10 و َلِذَلِكَ سَأُرسِلُ ناراً عَلَى سُورِ صُورَ، لِتَلْتَهِمَ قُصُورَها بِالكامِلِ.» عِقابُ الأدُومِيِّين

So I will send a fire on the wall of Tyre which shall devour its strongholds.

11 ه َذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ اللهُ: «بِسَبَبِ ذُنُوبِ شَعبِ أدُومَ المُتَكَرِّرَةِ وَالمُتَضاعِفَةِ، سَأُعاقِبُهُمْ. طارَدَ أدُومُ أخاهُ بِالسَّيفِ، وَلَمْ يُظهِرْ رَحْمَةً لَهُ. لَمْ يَضَعْ حَدّاً لِغَضَبِهِ كَحَيَوانٍ يُمَزِّقُ فَرِيسَتَهُ، وَاحْتَفَظَ بِحِقْدِهِ دائِماً.

Thus says the Lord: For three transgressions of Edom and for four, I will not reverse the punishment of it or revoke My word concerning it, because he pursued his brother Jacob (Israel) with the sword, corrupting his compassions and casting off all pity, and his anger tore perpetually and his wrath he kept and heeded forever.

12 ل ِذَلِكَ سَأُرْسِلُ ناراً عَلَى مَدِينَةِ تَيمانَ، لِتَلْتَهِمَ قُصُورَ بُصْرَةَ بِالكامِلِ.» عِقابُ العَمُّونِيِّين

So I will send a fire upon Teman which shall devour the strongholds of Bozrah.

13 ه َذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ اللهُ: «بِسَبَبِ ذُنُوبِ شَعبِ عَمُّونَ المُتَكَرِّرَةِ وَالمُتَضاعِفَةِ، سَأُعاقِبُهُمْ، لأنَّهُمْ فَتَحُوا بُطُونَ الحَوامِلِ فِي جِلْعادَ لِيُوَسِّعُوا أرْضَهُمْ.

Thus says the Lord: For three transgressions of the children of Ammon and for four, I will not reverse the punishment of it or revoke My word concerning it, because have ripped up women with child in Gilead, that they might enlarge their border.

14 ل ِذَلِكَ سَأُشعِلُ ناراً فِي سُورِ مَدِينَةِ رَبَّةَ، لِتَلْتَهِمَ قُصُورَها بِالكامِلِ. وَذَلِكَ وَسَطَ صَيحاتِ يَومِ المَعرَكَةِ، كَالرِّيحِ فِي يَوْمِ العاصِفَةِ.

So I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah and it shall devour the strongholds of it, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind;

15 ح ِينَئِذٍ، سَيُسبَى مَلِكُهُمْ وَرُؤَساؤُهُ مَعاً.» هَذا هُوَ ما قالَهُ اللهُ.

And their king shall go into exile, he and his princes together, says the Lord.
