1 А по цьому я бачив чотирьох Анголів, що стояли на чотирьох кутах землі та тримали чотири земні вітри, щоб вітер не віяв на землю, ані на море, ані на жодне дерево.

After this I saw four angels stationed at the four corners of the earth, firmly holding back the four winds of the earth so that no wind should blow on the earth or sea or upon any tree.

2 І бачив я іншого Ангола, що від схід сонця виходив, і мав печатку Бога Живого. І він гучним голосом крикнув до чотирьох Анголів, що їм дано пошкодити землі та морю,

Then I saw a second angel coming up from the east (the rising of the sun) and carrying the seal of the living God. And with a loud voice he called out to the four angels who had been given authority and power to injure earth and sea,

3 г оворячи: Не шкодьте ані землі, ані морю, ані дереву, аж поки ми покладемо печатки рабам Бога нашого на їхніх чолах!

Saying, Harm neither the earth nor the sea nor the trees, until we have sealed the bond servants of our God upon their foreheads.

4 І почув я число попечатаних: сто сорок чотири тисячі попечатаних від усіх племен Ізраїлевих синів:

And I heard how many were sealed (marked) out of every tribe of the sons of Israel: there were 144, 000.

5 з племени Юдиного дванадцять тисяч попечатаних, з племени Рувимового дванадцять тисяч, з племени Ґадового дванадцять тисяч,

Twelve thousand were sealed (marked) out of the tribe of Judah, 12, 000 of the tribe of Reuben, 12, 000 of the tribe of Gad,

6 з племени Асирового дванадцять тисяч, з племени Нефталимового дванадцять тисяч, з племени Манасіїного дванадцять тисяч,

Twelve thousand of the tribe of Asher, 12, 000 of the tribe of Naphtali, 12, 000 of the tribe of Manasseh,

7 з племени Симеонового дванадцять тисяч, з племени Левіїного дванадцять тисяч, з племени Іссахарового дванадцять тисяч,

Twelve thousand of the tribe of Simeon, 12, 000 of the tribe of Levi, 12, 000 of the tribe of Issachar,

8 з племени Завулонового дванадцять тисяч, з племени Йосипового дванадцять тисяч, з племени Веніяминового дванадцять тисяч попечатаних.

Twelve thousand of the tribe of Zebulun, 12, 000 of the tribe of Joseph, 12, 000 of the tribe of Benjamin.

9 П отому я глянув, і ось натовп великий, що його зрахувати не може ніхто, з усякого люду, і племен, і народів, і язиків, стояв перед престолом і перед Агнцем, зодягнені в білу одежу, а в їхніх руках було пальмове віття.

After this I looked and a vast host appeared which no one could count, of every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages. These stood before the throne and before the Lamb; they were attired in white robes, with palm branches in their hands.

10 І взивали вони гучним голосом, кажучи: Спасіння нашому Богові, що сидить на престолі, і Агнцеві!

In loud voice they cried, saying, salvation is due to our God, Who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!

11 А всі Анголи стояли навколо престолу та старців і чотирьох тих тварин. І вони на обличчя попадали перед престолом, і вклонилися Богові,

And all the angels were standing round the throne and round the elders '> of the heavenly Sanhedrin] and the four living creatures, and they fell prostrate before the throne and worshiped God.

12 к ажучи: Амінь! Благословення, і слава, і мудрість, і хвала, і честь, і сила, і міць нашому Богу на вічні віки! Амінь!

Amen! (So be it!) they cried. Blessing and glory and majesty and splendor and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and might to our God to the ages and ages (forever and ever, throughout the eternities of the eternities)! Amen! (So be it!)

13 І відповів один із старців, і до мене сказав: Оці, що зодягнені в білу одежу, хто вони й звідкіля поприходили?

Then, addressing me, one of the elders '> of the heavenly Sanhedrin] said, Who are these clothed in the long white robes? And from where have they come?

14 І сказав я йому: Мій пане, ти знаєш! Він же мені відказав: Це ті, що прийшли від великого горя, і випрали одіж свою, та вибілили її в крові Агнця...

I replied, Sir, you know. And he said to me, These are they who have come out of the great tribulation (persecution), and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

15 Т ому то вони перед Божим престолом, і в храмі Його день і ніч Йому служать. А Той, Хто сидить на престолі, розтягне намета над ними.

For this reason they are before the throne of God and serve Him day and night in His sanctuary (temple); and He Who is sitting upon the throne will protect and spread His tabernacle over and shelter them with His presence.

16 В они голоду й спраги терпіти не будуть уже, і не буде палити їх сонце, ані спека яка.

They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun smite them, nor any scorching heat.

17 Б о Агнець, що серед престолу, буде їх пасти, і водитиме їх до джерел вод життя. І Бог кожну сльозу з очей їхніх зітре!

For the Lamb Who is in the midst of the throne will be their Shepherd, and He will guide them to the springs of the waters of life; and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
