1 U nd darnach sah ich vier Engel stehen auf den vier Ecken der Erde, die hielten die vier Winde der Erde, auf daß kein Wind über die Erde bliese noch über das Meer noch über irgend einen Baum.

After this I saw four angels stationed at the four corners of the earth, firmly holding back the four winds of the earth so that no wind should blow on the earth or sea or upon any tree.

2 U nd ich sah einen anderen Engel aufsteigen von der Sonne Aufgang, der hatte das Siegel des lebendigen Gottes und schrie mit großer Stimme zu den vier Engeln, welchen gegeben war zu beschädigen die Erde und das Meer;

Then I saw a second angel coming up from the east (the rising of the sun) and carrying the seal of the living God. And with a loud voice he called out to the four angels who had been given authority and power to injure earth and sea,

3 u nd er sprach: Beschädiget die Erde nicht noch das Meer noch die Bäume, bis wir versiegeln die Knechte unsers Gottes an ihren Stirnen!

Saying, Harm neither the earth nor the sea nor the trees, until we have sealed the bond servants of our God upon their foreheads.

4 U nd ich hörte die Zahl derer, die versiegelt wurden: hundertvierundvierzigtausend, die versiegelt waren von allen Geschlechtern der Kinder Israel:

And I heard how many were sealed (marked) out of every tribe of the sons of Israel: there were 144, 000.

5 V on dem Geschlechte Juda zwölftausend versiegelt; von dem Geschlechte Ruben zwölftausend versiegelt; von dem Geschlechte Gad zwölftausend versiegelt;

Twelve thousand were sealed (marked) out of the tribe of Judah, 12, 000 of the tribe of Reuben, 12, 000 of the tribe of Gad,

6 v on dem Geschlechte Asser zwölftausend versiegelt; von dem Geschlechte Naphthali zwölftausend versiegelt; von dem Geschlechte Manasse zwölftausend versiegelt;

Twelve thousand of the tribe of Asher, 12, 000 of the tribe of Naphtali, 12, 000 of the tribe of Manasseh,

7 v on dem Geschlechte Simeon zwölftausend versiegelt; von dem Geschlechte Levi zwölftausend versiegelt; von dem Geschlechte Isaschar zwölftausend versiegelt;

Twelve thousand of the tribe of Simeon, 12, 000 of the tribe of Levi, 12, 000 of the tribe of Issachar,

8 v on dem Geschlechte Sebulon zwölftausend versiegelt; von dem Geschlechte Joseph zwölftausend versiegelt; von dem Geschlechte Benjamin zwölftausend versiegelt.

Twelve thousand of the tribe of Zebulun, 12, 000 of the tribe of Joseph, 12, 000 of the tribe of Benjamin.

9 D arnach sah ich, und siehe, eine große Schar, welche niemand zählen konnte, aus allen Heiden und Völkern und Sprachen, vor dem Stuhl stehend und vor dem Lamm, angetan mit weißen Kleidern und Palmen in ihren Händen,

After this I looked and a vast host appeared which no one could count, of every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages. These stood before the throne and before the Lamb; they were attired in white robes, with palm branches in their hands.

10 s chrieen mit großer Stimme und sprachen: Heil sei dem, der auf dem Stuhl sitzt, unserm Gott, und dem Lamm!

In loud voice they cried, saying, salvation is due to our God, Who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!

11 U nd alle Engel standen um den Stuhl und um die Ältesten und um die vier Tiere und fielen vor dem Stuhl auf ihr Angesicht und beteten Gott an

And all the angels were standing round the throne and round the elders '> of the heavenly Sanhedrin] and the four living creatures, and they fell prostrate before the throne and worshiped God.

12 u nd sprachen: Amen, Lob und Ehre und Weisheit und Dank und Preis und Kraft und Stärke sei unserm Gott von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit! Amen.

Amen! (So be it!) they cried. Blessing and glory and majesty and splendor and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and might to our God to the ages and ages (forever and ever, throughout the eternities of the eternities)! Amen! (So be it!)

13 U nd es antwortete der Ältesten einer und sprach zu mir: Wer sind diese, mit den weißen Kleidern angetan, und woher sind sie gekommen?

Then, addressing me, one of the elders '> of the heavenly Sanhedrin] said, Who are these clothed in the long white robes? And from where have they come?

14 U nd ich sprach zu ihm: Herr, du weißt es. Und er sprach zu mir: Diese sind's, die gekommen sind aus großer Trübsal und haben ihre Kleider gewaschen und haben ihre Kleider hell gemacht im Blut des Lammes.

I replied, Sir, you know. And he said to me, These are they who have come out of the great tribulation (persecution), and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

15 D arum sind sie vor dem Stuhl Gottes und dienen ihm Tag und Nacht in seinem Tempel; und der auf dem Stuhl sitzt, wird über ihnen wohnen.

For this reason they are before the throne of God and serve Him day and night in His sanctuary (temple); and He Who is sitting upon the throne will protect and spread His tabernacle over and shelter them with His presence.

16 S ie wird nicht mehr hungern noch dürsten; es wird auch nicht auf sie fallen die Sonne oder irgend eine Hitze;

They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun smite them, nor any scorching heat.

17 d enn das Lamm mitten im Stuhl wird sie weiden und leiten zu den lebendigen Wasserbrunnen, und Gott wird abwischen alle Tränen von ihren Augen.

For the Lamb Who is in the midst of the throne will be their Shepherd, and He will guide them to the springs of the waters of life; and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
