1 D espués de esto vi a cuatro ángeles que estaban de pie sobre los cuatro extremos de la tierra. Estos ángeles impedían que los cuatro vientos de la tierra soplaran sobre la tierra o sobre el mar, o sobre todo árbol.

After this I saw four angels stationed at the four corners of the earth, firmly holding back the four winds of the earth so that no wind should blow on the earth or sea or upon any tree.

2 T ambién vi que otro ángel venía por donde sale el sol. Tenía el sello del Dios vivo, y con grandes voces llamaba a los cuatro ángeles, los cuales habían recibido el poder de dañar a la tierra y al mar.

Then I saw a second angel coming up from the east (the rising of the sun) and carrying the seal of the living God. And with a loud voice he called out to the four angels who had been given authority and power to injure earth and sea,

3 L es dijo: «No dañen a la tierra, ni al mar ni a los árboles, hasta que a los siervos de nuestro Dios les hayamos puesto un sello en la frente.»

Saying, Harm neither the earth nor the sea nor the trees, until we have sealed the bond servants of our God upon their foreheads.

4 P ude oír que el número de los que fueron sellados era de ciento cuarenta y cuatro mil, tomados de entre todas las tribus de los hijos de Israel:

And I heard how many were sealed (marked) out of every tribe of the sons of Israel: there were 144, 000.

5 D oce mil de la tribu de Judá, doce mil de la tribu de Rubén, doce mil de la tribu de Gad,

Twelve thousand were sealed (marked) out of the tribe of Judah, 12, 000 of the tribe of Reuben, 12, 000 of the tribe of Gad,

6 d oce mil de la tribu de Aser, doce mil de la tribu de Neftalí, doce mil de la tribu de Manasés,

Twelve thousand of the tribe of Asher, 12, 000 of the tribe of Naphtali, 12, 000 of the tribe of Manasseh,

7 d oce mil de la tribu de Simeón, doce mil de la tribu de Leví, doce mil de la tribu de Isacar,

Twelve thousand of the tribe of Simeon, 12, 000 of the tribe of Levi, 12, 000 of the tribe of Issachar,

8 d oce mil de la tribu de Zabulón, doce mil de la tribu de José, doce mil de la tribu de Benjamín. La multitud vestida de ropas blancas

Twelve thousand of the tribe of Zebulun, 12, 000 of the tribe of Joseph, 12, 000 of the tribe of Benjamin.

9 D espués de esto vi aparecer una gran multitud compuesta de todas las naciones, tribus, pueblos y lenguas. Era imposible saber su número. Estaban de pie ante el trono, en presencia del Cordero, y vestían ropas blancas; en sus manos llevaban ramas de palma,

After this I looked and a vast host appeared which no one could count, of every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages. These stood before the throne and before the Lamb; they were attired in white robes, with palm branches in their hands.

10 y a grandes voces gritaban: «La salvación proviene de nuestro Dios, que está sentado en el trono, y del Cordero.»

In loud voice they cried, saying, salvation is due to our God, Who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!

11 T odos los ángeles estaban de pie, alrededor del trono y de los ancianos y de los cuatro seres vivientes, y delante del trono inclinaron el rostro y adoraron a Dios.

And all the angels were standing round the throne and round the elders '> of the heavenly Sanhedrin] and the four living creatures, and they fell prostrate before the throne and worshiped God.

12 D ecían: «¡Amén! A nuestro Dios sean dadas la bendición y la gloria, la sabiduría y la acción de gracias, y la honra, el poder y la fortaleza, por los siglos de los siglos. ¡Amén!»

Amen! (So be it!) they cried. Blessing and glory and majesty and splendor and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and might to our God to the ages and ages (forever and ever, throughout the eternities of the eternities)! Amen! (So be it!)

13 E ntonces uno de los ancianos me dijo: «Y estos que están vestidos de ropas blancas, ¿quiénes son? ¿De dónde vienen?»

Then, addressing me, one of the elders '> of the heavenly Sanhedrin] said, Who are these clothed in the long white robes? And from where have they come?

14 Y o le respondí: «Señor, tú lo sabes.» Entonces él me dijo: «Éstos han salido de la gran tribulación. Son los que han lavado y emblanquecido sus ropas en la sangre del Cordero.

I replied, Sir, you know. And he said to me, These are they who have come out of the great tribulation (persecution), and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

15 P or eso están delante del trono de Dios, y le rinden culto en su templo de día y de noche; y el que está sentado en el trono los protege con su presencia.

For this reason they are before the throne of God and serve Him day and night in His sanctuary (temple); and He Who is sitting upon the throne will protect and spread His tabernacle over and shelter them with His presence.

16 N o volverán a tener hambre ni sed, ni les hará daño el sol ni el calor los molestará,

They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun smite them, nor any scorching heat.

17 p orque el Cordero que está en medio del trono los pastoreará y los llevará a fuentes de agua de vida, y Dios mismo secará de sus ojos toda lágrima.»

For the Lamb Who is in the midst of the throne will be their Shepherd, and He will guide them to the springs of the waters of life; and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
