1 S alomón dedicó veinte años a construir el templo del Señor y su propio palacio,

At the end of twenty years, in which Solomon had built the house of the Lord and his own house,

2 d espués de lo cual reedificó las ciudades que Jirán le había dado y estableció en ellas a los israelitas.

The cities which Huram had given to Solomon rebuilt and fortified, and caused the Israelites to dwell there.

3 A demás, Salomón se dirigió a Jamat de Soba y la conquistó,

And Solomon took Hamath-zobah.

4 y edificó en Jamat todas las ciudades de aprovisionamiento; en el desierto edificó a Tadmor,

He built Tadmor in the wilderness and all his store cities in Hamath.

5 y reedificó las ciudades fortificadas de Bet Jorón la de arriba y Bet Jorón la de abajo, con sus murallas, puertas y cerrojos,

Also he built Upper Beth-horon and Lower Beth-horon, fortified cities with walls, gates, and bars,

6 y Baalat y todas las ciudades de aprovisionamiento que allí tenía, y también todas las ciudades donde guardaba los carros de guerra y su gente de a caballo, más todo lo que quiso edificar en Jerusalén, en el Líbano, y en todos sus dominios.

And Baalath and all the store cities had, and all the cities for his chariots and the cities for his horsemen, and all that Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, in Lebanon, and in all his dominion.

7 A todos los sobrevivientes hititas, amorreos, ferezeos, jivitas y jebuseos, es decir, a todos los que no eran israelitas

All the people who were left of the Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, who were not of Israel,

8 y que se habían quedado en la tierra de sus antepasados porque los israelitas no pudieron aniquilarlos, Salomón los hizo sus tributarios, y hasta el día de hoy lo son.

But descendants of those who were left in the land, whom the Israelites had not destroyed—of them Solomon made a levy for forced labor to this day.

9 P ero a los israelitas no los hizo trabajar en sus obras porque eran hombres de guerra, oficiales, capitanes, comandantes de sus carros de guerra, y gente de caballería.

But of the Israelites Solomon made no slaves for his work; but they were men of war, chiefs of his captains, and captains of his chariots and horsemen.

10 P ara controlar a esa gente, Salomón contaba con la ayuda de doscientos cincuenta gobernadores principales.

These were the chiefs of King Solomon’s officers, 250 in authority over the people.

11 A la hija del faraón, Salomón la llevó de la ciudad de David a la casa que edificó para ella, pues dijo: «Mi mujer no va a vivir en el palacio de David, el rey de Israel. Las habitaciones donde el arca del Señor ha estado son sagradas.»

Solomon brought the daughter of Pharaoh out of the City of David into the house he had built for her, for he said, My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the places are holy to which the ark of the Lord has come.

12 S alomón ofreció holocaustos al Señor sobre el altar del Señor que había edificado frente al pórtico,

Then Solomon offered burnt offerings to the Lord on the Lord’s altar which he had built before the porch or vestibule,

13 p ara ofrecer allí las ofrendas correspondientes a cada día, conforme al mandamiento de Moisés: en los días de reposo, en las lunas nuevas y en las tres fiestas solemnes de cada año, es decir, en la fiesta de los panes sin levadura, en la fiesta de las semanas y en la fiesta de los tabernáculos.

A certain number every day, offering as Moses commanded for the Sabbaths, the New Moons, and the solemn feast days three times in the year—the Feasts of Unleavened Bread, of Weeks, and of Tabernacles.

14 S alomón estableció los turnos de los sacerdotes en sus oficios, de los levitas en sus cargos, y de los porteros en la puerta que les correspondía, cada uno en su turno diario, para que alabaran y ministraran delante de los sacerdotes, conforme a lo ordenado por David, ese hombre de Dios que era su padre, porque así él había mandado que se hiciera.

And he appointed, as ordered by David his father, the divisions of the priests for their service, and the Levites to their offices to praise and to serve before the priests as the duty of every day required, and the gatekeepers also by their divisions at every gate; for so had David the man of God commanded.

15 L as órdenes del rey en cuanto a los sacerdotes y los levitas, y los tesoros y todo otro asunto, se cumplieron al pie de la letra,

And they did not turn from the command of the king to the priests and Levites in any respect or concerning the treasuries.

16 p ues todos los trabajos de Salomón estaban preparados desde que se pusieron los cimientos del templo del Señor hasta que el templo quedó totalmente construido.

Thus all the work of Solomon was prepared from the day the foundation of the Lord’s house was laid until it was finished. So the house of the Lord was completed.

17 D espués Salomón fue a Ezión Guéber y a Elat, es decir, a la costa del mar en territorio de Edom,

Then Solomon went to Ezion-geber and to Eloth on the shore of the Sea in the land of Edom.

18 p ues por medio de sus siervos Jirán le había enviado naves y marineros expertos en alta mar. Éstos fueron a Ofir con los siervos de Salomón, y de allí tomaron unos quince mil kilos de oro, mismos que le entregaron al rey Salomón.

And Huram sent him by his servants ships and servants familiar with the sea; and they went with the servants of Solomon to Ophir and took from there 450 talents of gold and brought them to King Solomon.
