1 » Ustedes los sacerdotes, escuchen esto; y ustedes, los de la casa de Israel, presten atención; y ustedes, los de la casa real, óiganlo bien. Porque la sentencia es contra ustedes, pues en Mispá fueron una trampa y en el Tabor fueron una red.

Hear this, O you priests! And listen, O house of Israel! And give ear, O house of the king! For the judgment pronounced pertains to you and is meant for you, because you have been a snare at Mizpah and a net spread upon Tabor.

2 C on tantas víctimas que han hecho se han rebajado por completo. Por lo tanto, a todos ellos los castigaré.

The revolters are deeply sunk in corruption and slaughter, but I am a rebuke and a chastisement for them all.

3 » A Efraín lo conozco, e Israel no me es desconocido; pero ahora resulta que Efraín se ha prostituido, y que Israel se ha contaminado.

I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from Me; for now, O Ephraim, you have played the harlot and have worshiped idols; Israel is defiled.

4 C omo en ellos habita el espíritu de prostitución, no me conocen a mí, el Señor su Dios, ni piensan en volverse a mí.»

Their doings will not permit them to return to their God, for the spirit of harlotry is within them and they know not the Lord.

5 L a arrogancia de Israel le desmentirá en su propia cara; Israel y Efraín caerán por su pecado, y Judá caerá también con ellos.

But the pride and self-reliance of Israel testifies before his face. Therefore shall Israel, and Ephraim, totter and fall in their iniquity and guilt, and Judah shall stumble and fall with them.

6 A ndan en busca del Señor mientras guían a sus ovejas y sus vacas; pero no lo encuentran, porque él se ha apartado de ellos.

They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek the Lord, but they will not find Him; He has withdrawn Himself from them.

7 P ecaron contra el Señor al engendrar hijos extraños. Ahora, en un solo mes serán consumidos ellos y sus propiedades.

They have dealt faithlessly and treacherously with the Lord, for they have borne alien children. Now shall a New Moon (one month) devour them with their fields.

8 « ¡Toquen la bocina en Gabaa y la trompeta en Ramá! ¡Den la voz de alarma en Bet Avén! Y tú, Benjamín, ¡ponte a temblar!

Blow the horn in Gibeah and the trumpet in Ramah. Sound the alarm at Beth-aven: behind you and after you, O Benjamin!

9 E n el día del castigo, Efraín será asolado. Yo daré a conocer la verdad entre las tribus de Israel.

Ephraim shall become a desolation in the day of rebuke and punishment. Among the tribes of Israel I declare what shall surely be.

10 L os príncipes de Judá se parecen a los que no respetan los linderos. Por eso derramaré mi ira sobre ellos, como si derramara agua.

The princes of Judah are like those who remove the landmark; I will pour out My wrath upon them like water.

11 » A Efraín se le ultraja y se le quebranta en el juicio, porque prefirió seguir a los dioses falsos.

Ephraim is oppressed; he is broken and crushed by judgment, because he was content to walk after idols (images) and man’s command ( vanities and filth ).

12 P or eso yo seré para Efraín como la polilla, y para la casa de Judá seré como carcoma.

Therefore I am like a moth to Ephraim and like dry rot to the house of Judah.

13 E ntonces Efraín verá su enfermedad, y Judá contemplará su llaga. Y Efraín recurrirá al rey Jareb de Asiria en busca de ayuda, pero él no podrá sanarlos ni les curará la llaga.

When Ephraim saw his sickness and Judah saw his wound, then Ephraim went to Assyria and sent to great King Jareb. Yet he cannot heal you nor will he cure you of your wound.

14 C iertamente yo seré para Efraín como un león, y para la casa de Judá seré como un cachorro. Los atraparé, y luego me iré. Los agarraré, y no habrá quien me los quite. Falso arrepentimiento de Israel

For I will be to Ephraim like a lion, and like a young lion to the house of Judah. I, even I, will rend and go on; I will carry off and there will be no one to deliver.

15 » Después de eso volveré a mi santo lugar, hasta que ellos reconozcan su pecado y busquen mi rostro. Porque en su angustia me buscarán.»

I will return to My place until they acknowledge their offense and feel their guilt and seek My face; in their affliction and distress they will seek, inquire for, and require Me earnestly, saying,
