1 I srael, ¡vuélvete al Señor tu Dios! ¡Por causa de tu pecado has caído!

O Israel, return to the Lord your God, for you have stumbled and fallen, due to your iniquity.

2 V uélvete al Señor y, con las mejores palabras suplicantes, dile: «No te fijes en nuestra maldad; mira lo bueno en nosotros; la ofrenda que te traemos son las palabras de nuestros labios.

Take with you words and return to the Lord. Say to Him, Take away all our iniquity; accept what is good and receive us graciously; so will we render as bullocks and pay the confession of our lips.

3 L os asirios no nos librarán, ni montaremos en caballos, ni jamás volveremos a decir a esos ídolos que nosotros mismos hicimos: “Ustedes son nuestros dioses”, porque sólo en ti encuentra misericordia el huérfano.»

Assyria shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses, neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, You are our gods. For in You the fatherless find love, pity, and mercy.

4 « Yo sanaré su rebelión. Los amaré de pura gracia, porque mi ira se ha apartado de ellos.

I will heal their faithlessness; I will love them freely, for My anger is turned away from.

5 Y o seré para Israel como el rocío, y él florecerá como lirio y extenderá sus raíces como el Líbano.

I will be like the dew and the night mist to Israel; he shall grow and blossom like the lily and cast forth his roots like Lebanon.

6 S us ramos se extenderán, y su esplendor será como el del olivo, y su perfume será como el del Líbano.

His suckers and shoots shall spread, and his beauty shall be like the olive tree and his fragrance like Lebanon.

7 V olverán, y se sentarán bajo su sombra; serán vivificados como el trigo, florecerán como la vid, y su aroma será como el del vino del Líbano.

They that dwell under his shade shall return; they shall revive like the grain and blossom like the vine; the scent of it shall be like the wine of Lebanon.

8 » Dime, Efraín: ¿Qué tengo yo que ver con los ídolos? ¡Soy yo quien te atiende y te mira! ¡Yo soy para ti como verde ciprés! Sólo en mí encuentras tu fruto!»

Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have answered and will regard and watch over him; I am like a green fir or cypress tree; with Me is the fruit found.

9 ¿ Hay alguien lo bastante sabio para entender esto? ¿Hay alguien con inteligencia para reconocerlo? Porque los caminos del Señor son rectos, y los justos los seguirán. Pero los rebeldes tropezarán en ellos.

Who is wise, that he may understand these things? Prudent, that he may know them? For the ways of the Lord are right and the just shall walk in them, but transgressors shall stumble and fall in them.
