1 V i entonces un cielo nuevo y una tierra nueva, porque el primer cielo y la primera tierra habían dejado de existir, y el mar tampoco existía ya.

Then I saw a new sky (heaven) and a new earth, for the former sky and the former earth had passed away (vanished), and there no longer existed any sea.

2 V i también que la ciudad santa, la nueva Jerusalén, descendía del cielo, de Dios, ataviada como una novia que se adorna para su esposo.

And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, all arrayed like a bride beautified and adorned for her husband;

3 E ntonces oí que desde el trono salía una potente voz, la cual decía: «Aquí está el tabernáculo de Dios con los hombres. Él vivirá con ellos, y ellos serán su pueblo, y Dios mismo estará con ellos y será su Dios.

Then I heard a mighty voice from the throne and I perceived its distinct words, saying, See! The abode of God is with men, and He will live (encamp, tent) among them; and they shall be His people, and God shall personally be with them and be their God.

4 D ios enjugará las lágrimas de los ojos de ellos, y ya no habrá muerte, ni más llanto, ni lamento ni dolor; porque las primeras cosas habrán dejado de existir.

God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more, neither shall there be anguish (sorrow and mourning) nor grief nor pain any more, for the old conditions and the former order of things have passed away.

5 E l que estaba sentado en el trono dijo: «Mira, yo hago nuevas todas las cosas.» Y me dijo: «Escribe, porque estas palabras son fieles y verdaderas.»

And He Who is seated on the throne said, See! I make all things new. Also He said, Record this, for these sayings are faithful (accurate, incorruptible, and trustworthy) and true (genuine).

6 T ambién me dijo: «Ya está hecho. Yo soy el Alfa y la Omega, el principio y el fin. Al que tenga sed, yo le daré a beber gratuitamente de la fuente del agua de la vida.

And He said to me, It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without price from the fountain (springs) of the water of Life.

7 E l que salga vencedor heredará todas las cosas, y yo seré su Dios y él será mi hijo.

He who is victorious shall inherit all these things, and I will be God to him and he shall be My son.

8 P ero los cobardes, los incrédulos, los abominables, los homicidas, los que incurren en inmoralidad sexual, los hechiceros, los idólatras y todos los mentirosos tendrán su parte en el lago que arde con fuego y azufre, que es la muerte segunda. La nueva Jerusalén

But as for the cowards and the ignoble and the contemptible and the cravenly lacking in courage and the cowardly submissive, and as for the unbelieving and faithless, and as for the depraved and defiled with abominations, and as for murderers and the lewd and adulterous and the practicers of magic arts and the idolaters (those who give supreme devotion to anyone or anything other than God) and all liars (those who knowingly convey untruth by word or deed)— their part in the lake that blazes with fire and brimstone. This is the second death.

9 E ntonces se me acercó uno de los siete ángeles que tenían las siete copas llenas de las siete plagas finales, y me dijo: «Ven acá, voy a mostrarte a la novia, la esposa del Cordero.»

Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls filled with the seven final plagues (afflictions, calamities) came and spoke to me. He said, Come with me! I will show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.

10 Y en el Espíritu me llevó a un monte de gran altura, y me mostró la gran ciudad santa de Jerusalén, la cual descendía del cielo, de Dios.

Then in the Spirit He conveyed me away to a vast and lofty mountain and exhibited to me the holy (hallowed, consecrated) city of Jerusalem descending out of heaven from God,

11 T enía la gloria de Dios y brillaba como una piedra preciosa, semejante a una piedra de jaspe, transparente como el cristal.

Clothed in God’s glory. The luster of it resembled a rare and most precious jewel, like jasper, shining clear as crystal.

12 T enía una muralla grande y elevada, y doce puertas; en cada puerta había un ángel, e inscripciones que correspondían a los nombres de las doce tribus de Israel.

It had a massive and high wall with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel were written:

13 T res puertas daban al oriente, tres puertas al norte, tres puertas al sur, y tres puertas al occidente.

On the east side three gates, on the north side three gates, on the south side three gates, and on the west side three gates.

14 L a muralla de la ciudad tenía doce cimientos, y en ellos estaban los nombres de los doce apóstoles del Cordero.

And the wall of the city had twelve foundation, and on them the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

15 E l que hablaba conmigo tenía una caña de oro para medir la ciudad, sus puertas y su muralla.

And he who spoke to me had a golden measuring reed (rod) to measure the city and its gates and its wall.

16 L a ciudad era cuadrada, pues medía lo mismo de ancho que de largo. Él midió la ciudad con la caña, y de largo y de ancho medía dos mil doscientos kilómetros.

The city lies in a square, its length being the same as its width. And he measured the city with his reed—12, 000 stadia (about 1, 500 miles); its length and width and height are the same.

17 T ambién midió la muralla, y medía sesenta y cinco metros, según las medidas empleadas por la gente y que el ángel estaba usando.

He measured its wall also—144 cubits (about 72 yards) by a man’s measure '> of a cubit from his elbow to his third fingertip], which is of the angel.

18 L a muralla estaba hecha de jaspe, pero la ciudad era de oro puro, diáfana como el cristal.

The wall was built of jasper, while the city pure gold, clear and transparent like glass.

19 L os cimientos de la muralla de la ciudad estaban adornados con toda clase de piedras preciosas. El primer cimiento era de jaspe; el segundo, de zafiro; el tercero, de ágata; el cuarto, de esmeralda;

The foundation of the wall of the city were ornamented with all of the precious stones. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony (or white agate), the fourth emerald,

20 e l quinto, de ónice; el sexto, de cornalina; el séptimo, de crisólito; el octavo, de berilo; el noveno, de topacio; el décimo, de crisoprasa; el undécimo, de jacinto, y el duodécimo, de amatista.

The fifth onyx, the sixth sardius, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst.

21 L as doce puertas eran doce perlas, es decir, que cada una de las puertas era una perla, y la calle de la ciudad era de oro puro y transparente como el vidrio.

And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each separate gate being built of one solid pearl. And the main street (the broadway) of the city was of gold as pure and translucent as glass.

22 N o vi en ella ningún templo, porque su templo son el Señor y Dios Todopoderoso, y el Cordero.

I saw no temple in the city, for the Lord God Omnipotent and the Lamb are its temple.

23 L a ciudad no tiene necesidad de que el sol y la luna brillen en ella, porque la ilumina la gloria de Dios y el Cordero es su lumbrera.

And the city has no need of the sun nor of the moon to give light to it, for the splendor and radiance (glory) of God illuminate it, and the Lamb is its lamp.

24 L as naciones caminarán a la luz de ella, y los reyes de la tierra traerán a ella sus riquezas y su honra.

The nations shall walk by its light and the rulers and leaders of the earth shall bring into it their glory.

25 S us puertas jamás serán cerradas de día, y en ella no habrá noche.

And its gates shall never be closed by day, and there shall be no night there.

26 A ella serán llevadas las riquezas y la honra de las naciones,

They shall bring the glory (the splendor and majesty) and the honor of the nations into it.

27 y no entrará en ella nada que sea impuro, o detestable, o falso, sino solamente los que están inscritos en el libro de la vida del Cordero.

But nothing that defiles or profanes or is unwashed shall ever enter it, nor anyone who commits abominations (unclean, detestable, morally repugnant things) or practices falsehood, but only those whose names are recorded in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
