This is the history of the generations (descendants) of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. The sons born to them after the flood were:

2 L os hijos de Jafet: Gomer, Magog, Maday, Javán, Tubal, Mesec y Tiras.

The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.

3 L os hijos de Gomer: Askenaz, Rifat y Togarmá.

The sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.

4 L os hijos de Javán: Elisa, Tarsis, Quitín y Rodanín.

The sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.

5 C on ellos se poblaron las costas, cada uno según su lengua y conforme a sus familias en sus naciones.

From these the coastland peoples spread. in their lands, each with his own language, by their families within their nations.

6 L os hijos de Cam: Cus, Misrayin, Fut y Canaán.

The sons of Ham: Cush, Egypt, Put, and Canaan.

7 L os hijos de Cus: Sebá, Javilá, Sabta, Ragama y Sabteca. Los hijos de Ragama: Sebá y Dedán.

The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca; and the sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.

8 C us engendró a Nimrod, quien llegó a ser el primer hombre poderoso en la tierra.

Cush became the father of Nimrod; he was the first to be a mighty man on the earth.

9 É ste fue un vigoroso cazador delante del Señor. Por eso se dice: «Así como Nimrod, vigoroso cazador delante del Señor.»

He was a mighty hunter before the Lord; therefore it is said, Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the Lord.

10 L as ciudades principales de su reino fueron Babel, Erec, Acad y Calne, en la tierra de Sinar.

The beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

11 D e esta tierra salió para Asiria, y allí edificó Nínive, Rejobot, Calaj,

Out of the land he went forth into Assyria and built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, Calah,

12 y Resén, la gran ciudad que está entre Nínive y Calaj.

And Resen, which is between Nineveh and Calah; all these the great city.

13 M israyin engendró a Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naftuhim,

And Egypt became the father of Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim,

14 P atrusim y Casluhim, de donde salieron los filisteos, y también a Caftorim.

Pathrusim, Casluhim (from whom came the Philistines), and Caphtorim.

15 C anaán engendró a Sidón, su primogénito, a Jet,

Canaan became the father of Sidon his firstborn, Heth,

16 y a los jebuseos, amorreos, gergeseos,

The Jebusites, the Amorites, the Girgashites,

17 j ivitas, araceos, sineos,

The Hivites, the Arkites, the Sinites,

18 a rvadeos, semareos y jamatitas. Después se dispersaron las familias de los cananeos.

The Arvadites, the Zemarites and the Hamathites. Afterward the families of the Canaanites spread abroad

19 E l territorio de los cananeos se extendía desde Sidón, en dirección a Gerar, hasta Gaza; y en dirección de Sodoma, Gomorra, Adma y Zeboyin, hasta Lasa.

And the territory of the Canaanites extended from Sidon as one goes to Gerar as far as Gaza, and as one goes to Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha.

20 É stos son los hijos de Cam, por sus familias, lenguas, tierras y naciones.

These are the sons of Ham by their families, their languages, their lands, and their nations.

21 T ambién tuvo hijos Sem, que era padre de todos los hijos de Éber y hermano mayor de Jafet.

To Shem also, the younger brother of Japheth and the ancestor of all the children of Eber, children were born.

22 L os hijos de Sem fueron Elam, Asur, Arfaxad, Lud y Aram.

The sons of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, and Aram.

23 L os hijos de Aram fueron Uz, Jul, Geter y Mas.

The sons of Aram: Uz, Hul, Gether, and Mash.

24 A rfaxad engendró a Selaj, y Selaj engendró a Éber.

Arpachshad became the father of Shelah; and Shelah became the father of Eber.

25 A Éber le nacieron dos hijos. Uno de ellos se llamó Peleg, porque en sus días la tierra se dividió. Su hermano se llamó Joctán.

To Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg, because the earth were divided up in his days; and his brother’s name was Joktan.

26 Y Joctán engendró a Almodad, Selef, Jasar Mávet, Yera,

Joktan became the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,

27 H adorán, Uzal, Diclá,

Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,

28 O bal, Abimael, Sebá,

Obal, Abimael, Sheba,

29 O fir, Javilá y Jobab; todos estos fueron hijos de Joctán.

Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab; all these were the sons of Joktan.

30 L a tierra que habitaron se extendía desde Mesa, en dirección de Sefar, hasta la región montañosa oriental.

The territory in which they lived extended from Mesha as one goes toward Sephar to the hill country of the east.

31 É stos fueron los hijos de Sem por sus familias, lenguas, tierras y naciones.

These are Shem’s descendants by their families, their languages, their lands, and their nations.

32 É stas son las familias de los hijos de Noé por sus descendencias y naciones. De ellos se esparcieron las naciones en la tierra después del diluvio.

These are the families of the sons of Noah, according to their generations, within their nations; and from these the nations spread abroad on the earth after the flood.
