1 D ios mío, por tu gran misericordia, ¡ten piedad de mí!; por tu infinita bondad, ¡borra mis rebeliones!

Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your steadfast love; according to the multitude of Your tender mercy and loving-kindness blot out my transgressions.

2 L ávame más y más de mi maldad; ¡límpiame de mi pecado!

Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and guilt and cleanse me and make me wholly pure from my sin!

3 R econozco que he sido rebelde; ¡mi pecado está siempre ante mis ojos!

For I am conscious of my transgressions and I acknowledge them; my sin is ever before me.

4 C ontra ti, y sólo contra ti, he pecado; ¡ante tus propios ojos he hecho lo malo! Eso justifica plenamente tu sentencia, y demuestra que tu juicio es impecable.

Against You, You only, have I sinned and done that which is evil in Your sight, so that You are justified in Your sentence and faultless in Your judgment.

5 ¡ Mírame! ¡Yo fui formado en la maldad! ¡Mi madre me concibió en pecado!

Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity; my mother was sinful who conceived me.

6 ¡ Mírame! Tú amas la verdad en lo íntimo; ¡haz que en lo secreto comprenda tu sabiduría!

Behold, You desire truth in the inner being; make me therefore to know wisdom in my inmost heart.

7 ¡ Purifícame con hisopo, y estaré limpio! ¡Lávame, y estaré más blanco que la nieve!

Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

8 ¡ Lléname de gozo y alegría, y revivirán estos huesos que has abatido!

Make me to hear joy and gladness and be satisfied; let the bones which You have broken rejoice.

9 N o te fijes ya en mis pecados; más bien, borra todas mis maldades.

Hide Your face from my sins and blot out all my guilt and iniquities.

10 D ios mío, ¡crea en mí un corazón limpio! ¡Renueva en mí un espíritu de rectitud!

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right, persevering, and steadfast spirit within me.

11 ¡ No me despidas de tu presencia, ni quites de mí tu santo espíritu!

Cast me not away from Your presence and take not Your Holy Spirit from me.

12 ¡ Devuélveme el gozo de tu salvación! ¡Dame un espíritu dispuesto a obedecerte!

Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and uphold me with a willing spirit.

13 A sí instruiré a los pecadores en tus caminos; así los pecadores se volverán a ti.

Then will I teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners shall be converted and return to You.

14 D ios mío, Dios de mi salvación, ¡líbrame de derramar sangre, y mi lengua proclamará tu justicia!

Deliver me from bloodguiltiness and death, O God, the God of my salvation, and my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness (Your rightness and Your justice).

15 A bre, Señor, mis labios, y mi boca proclamará tu alabanza.

O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall show forth Your praise.

16 A ún si yo te ofreciera sacrificios, no es eso lo que quieres; ¡no te agradan los holocaustos!

For You delight not in sacrifice, or else would I give it; You find no pleasure in burnt offering.

17 L os sacrificios que tú quieres son el espíritu quebrantado; tú, Dios mío, no desprecias al corazón contrito y humillado.

My sacrifice to God is a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, such, O God, You will not despise.

18 P or tu bondad, trata bien a Sión; ¡reconstruye las murallas de Jerusalén!

Do good in Your good pleasure to Zion; rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.

19 T e agradarás entonces con los sacrificios que mereces, con los holocaustos y ofrendas del todo quemadas; se ofrecerán entonces becerros sobre tu altar.

Then will You delight in the sacrifices of righteousness, justice, and right, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering; then bullocks will be offered upon Your altar.
