1 T odo Israel fue contado según cada genealogía, y registrado en el libro de los reyes de Israel. Los de Judá fueron llevados cautivos a Babilonia por causa de su rebelión.

So all Israel was enrolled by genealogies; and they are written in the Book of the Kings of Israel. And Judah was carried away captive to Babylon for their unfaithfulness to God.

2 L os primeros en asentarse en sus patrimonios familiares y en las ciudades israelitas fueron los sacerdotes, los levitas y los sirvientes del templo.

Now the first to dwell again in their possessions in the cities of Israel were the priests, Levites, and the Nethinim.

3 P arte de los descendientes de Judá, Benjamín, Efraín y Manasés se establecieron en Jerusalén.

In Jerusalem dwelt some of the people of Judah, Benjamin, Ephraim, and Manasseh:

4 D e los descendientes de Fares hijo de Judá se estableció Utay hijo de Amiud, descendiente en línea directa de Omri, Imri y Bani.

Uthai son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the son of Imri, the son of Bani, of the sons of Pharez son of Judah.

5 D e los silonitas, Asaías, que era el primogénito, y sus hijos.

Of the Shilonites: Asaiah the firstborn and his sons.

6 D e los descendientes de Zeraj, Jeuel y sus hermanos, en total, seiscientos noventa personas.

Of the sons of Zerah: Jeuel and their kinsmen, 690.

7 D e los descendientes de Benjamín, Salú hijo de Mesulán, descendiente en línea directa de Hodavías, Asenúa,

Of the Benjamites: Sallu son of Meshullam, the son of Hodaviah, the son of Hassenuah;

8 I bneías, Jeroán, Elá, Uzi y Micri, y Mesulán hijo de Sefatías, descendiente en línea directa de Reuel y de Ibnías.

Ibneiah son of Jeroham; Elah son of Uzzi, the son of Michri; and Meshullam son of Shephatiah, the son of Reuel, the son of Ibnijah;

9 S us parientes, según sus linajes, eran un total de novecientos cincuenta y seis personas. Todos ellos eran jefes de familia en sus casas paternas.

And their kinsmen, according to their generations, 956. All these were heads of fathers’ houses according to their fathers’ houses.

Azariah son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, the chief officer of God’s house;

12 A daías, Jeroán, Pasjur, Malquías, Masay, Adiel, Yazera, Mesulán, Mesilemit e Imer,

And Adaiah son of Jeroham, the son of Pashhur, the son of Malchijah; Massai son of Adiel, the son of Jahzerah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Meshillemith, the son of Immer;

13 y sus parientes, que eran jefes de sus casas paternas y sumaban mil setecientos sesenta hombres, todos muy eficaces en el ministerio en el templo de Dios.

And their kinsmen, heads of their fathers’ houses, 1, 760—very able men for the work of the service of the house of God.

And Bakbakkar, Heresh, Galal, and Mattaniah son of Mica, the son of Zichri, the son of Asaph;

16 A bdías, Semaías, Galal, Jedutún, Berequías, Asa y Elcana. Este último habitó en las aldeas de los netofatitas.

Obadiah son of Shemaiah, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun; and Berechiah son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, who dwelt in the villages of the Netophathites.

17 L os porteros: Salún, Acub, Talmón, y Ajimán y sus hermanos. Salún era el jefe.

Who hitherto was assigned to the king’s east side gate. They were the gatekeepers of the camp of the Levites.

19 S alún hijo de Coré, descendiente en línea directa de Ebiasaf y de Coré, tuvo a su cargo, junto con sus parientes coreítas por parte de su padre, la obra del ministerio, y vigilaba la entrada al tabernáculo así como sus antepasados vigilaban la entrada al campamento del Señor.

Shallum son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his kinsmen of his father’s house, the Korahites, were in charge of the work of the service, keepers of the thresholds of the Tent, as their fathers had been in charge of the camp of the Lord, keepers of the entrance.

20 A ntes de él, Finés hijo de Eleazar había sido jefe de ellos, y el Señor lo apoyaba.

Phinehas son of Eleazar was ruler over them in times past, and the Lord was with him.

21 Z acarías hijo de Meselemías era el portero a la entrada del tabernáculo de reunión.

Zechariah son of Meshelemiah was gatekeeper at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting.

22 T odos estos, a los cuales constituyeron en su oficio David y Samuel el vidente para vigilar las puertas, eran doscientos doce cuando fueron escogidos y contados en sus villas, según el orden de sus linajes.

All these chosen to be keepers at the thresholds were 212. These were enrolled by their genealogies in their villages, these men David and Samuel the seer had established to their office of trust.

23 E llos y sus hijos se turnaban como porteros a la entrada del templo del Señor, y de la tienda del tabernáculo.

So they and their sons had oversight of the gates of the Lord’s house, that is, the house of the tabernacle, by wards.

24 H abía porteros a los cuatro lados, es decir, al oriente, al occidente, al norte y al sur.

The gatekeepers were stationed on the four sides —on the east, west, north, and south.

25 S us parientes en las aldeas acudían cada siete días, según su turno, para estar con ellos,

Their brethren in their villages were to come in every seven days to be with them.

26 p orque los cuatro porteros principales de los levitas estaban en el oficio y tenían a su cargo las cámaras y los tesoros del templo de Dios.

But these Levites, the four chief gatekeepers, were in charge of the chambers and treasuries of the house of God.

27 É stos vivían cerca del templo de Dios porque tenían a su cargo su vigilancia y tenían que abrirlo todas las mañanas.

They lodged round about God’s house, for the duty was theirs, as well as the opening of the house every morning.

28 A lgunos de ellos tenían a su cargo los utensilios para el ministerio, que eran contados al sacarlos y al guardarlos.

Some of them had charge of the serving utensils, being required to count them when they brought them in or took them out.

Some of them also were appointed over the furniture and over all the sacred utensils, as well as over the fine flour, wine, oil, frankincense, and spices.

Other sons of the priests prepared the ointment of spices.

31 U no de los levitas, llamado Matatías, que era el primogénito de Salún el coreíta, tenía a su cargo todo lo que se hacía en sartén.

Mattithiah, one of the Levites, the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, was responsible for the things baked in pans.

32 A lgunos de los coatitas, y de sus parientes, tenían a su cargo los panes de la proposición, los cuales ponían por orden cada día de reposo.

Of their Kohathite kinsmen, some were to prepare the showbread every Sabbath.

33 H abía también jefes de familia de los levitas que eran cantores. Éstos vivían en las cámaras del templo, exentos de otros servicios, porque de día y de noche estaban ocupados en aquella obra.

These are the singers, heads of the fathers’ houses of the Levites, dwelling in the temple chambers, free from other service because they were on duty day and night.

His firstborn son Abdon, then Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner, Nadab,

Gedor, Ahio, Zechariah, and Mikloth.

38 M iclot fue el padre de Simán. Éstos vivían también en Jerusalén, con sus hermanos.

Mikloth was the father of Shimeam. They also dwelt beside their brethren, opposite their kinsmen in Jerusalem.

39 N er fue el padre de Cis, Cis fue el padre de Saúl, y Saúl fue el padre de Jonatán, Malquisúa, Abinadab y Esbaal.

Ner was the father of Kish, Kish of Saul, Saul of Jonathan, Malchi-shua, Abinadab, and Esh-baal.

40 M eribaal fue hijo de Jonatán y padre de Micaía.

The son of Jonathan was Merib-baal (Mephibosheth); Merib-baal was the father of Micah.

41 L os hijos de Micaía fueron Pitón, Melec, Tarea y Ajaz.

The sons of Micah: Pithon, Melech, Tahrea, and Ahaz.

Moza of Binea; Rephaiah was his son, Eleasah his son, Azel his son.

44 A zel tuvo seis hijos, y éstos son sus nombres: Azricán, Bocru, Ismael, Searías, Abdías y Janán. Éstos fueron los hijos de Azel.

Azel had six sons: Azrikam, Bocheru, Ishmael, Sheariah, Obadiah, and Hanan. These were the sons of Azel.
