1 K ështu tërë Izraelitët u regjistruan sipas gjenealogjive dhe u shkruan në librin e mbretërve të Izraelit. Por Juda u internua në Babiloni për shkak të mosbesnikërisë së tij.

So all Israel was enrolled by genealogies; and they are written in the Book of the Kings of Israel. And Judah was carried away captive to Babylon for their unfaithfulness to God.

2 T ani banorët e parë që u vendosën rishtas në pronat e tyre, në qytetet e tyre, ishin Izraelitët, priftërinj, Levitë dhe Nethinej.

Now the first to dwell again in their possessions in the cities of Israel were the priests, Levites, and the Nethinim.

3 N ë Jeruzalem u vendosën disa nga bijtë e Judës, nga bijtë e Beniaminit dhe nga bijtë e Efraimit dhe të Manasit:

In Jerusalem dwelt some of the people of Judah, Benjamin, Ephraim, and Manasseh:

4 U thai, bir i Amihudit, bir i Omrit, bir i Imrit, bir i Banit nga pasardhësit e Peretsit, birit të Judës.

Uthai son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the son of Imri, the son of Bani, of the sons of Pharez son of Judah.

5 N ga Shilonitët: Asajahu, djali i parë dhe bijtë e tij.

Of the Shilonites: Asaiah the firstborn and his sons.

6 N ga bijtë e Zerahut: Jeueli dhe vëllezërit e tij, gjithsej gjashtëqind e nëntëdhjetë veta.

Of the sons of Zerah: Jeuel and their kinsmen, 690.

7 N ga bijtë e Beniaminit: Salu, bir i Meshulamit, birit të Hodavias, birit të Hasenahit;

Of the Benjamites: Sallu son of Meshullam, the son of Hodaviah, the son of Hassenuah;

8 I bnejahu, bir i Jerohamit, Elahu, bir i Uzit, birit të Mikrit, dhe Meshulami, bir i Shefatiahut, birit të Reuelit, që ishte bir i Ibnijahut;

Ibneiah son of Jeroham; Elah son of Uzzi, the son of Michri; and Meshullam son of Shephatiah, the son of Reuel, the son of Ibnijah;

9 v ëllezërit e tyre, sipas brezave të tyre, ishin nëntëqind e pesëdhjetë e gjashtë veta. Tërë këta ishin të parë të një shtëpie atërore në shtëpitë e tyre atërore.

And their kinsmen, according to their generations, 956. All these were heads of fathers’ houses according to their fathers’ houses.

And Adaiah son of Jeroham, the son of Pashhur, the son of Malchijah; Massai son of Adiel, the son of Jahzerah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Meshillemith, the son of Immer;

And their kinsmen, heads of their fathers’ houses, 1, 760—very able men for the work of the service of the house of God.

Of the Levites: Shemaiah son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, of the sons of Merari;

15 B akbakari, Hereshi, Galali, Mataniahu, bir i Mikahut, bir i Zikrit, bir i Asafit;

And Bakbakkar, Heresh, Galal, and Mattaniah son of Mica, the son of Zichri, the son of Asaph;

16 O badiahu, bir i Shemajahut, bir i Galalit, bir i Jeduthunit; Berakiahu, bir i Asas, bir i Elkanahut, që banonte në fshatrat e Netofathitëve.

Obadiah son of Shemaiah, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun; and Berechiah son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, who dwelt in the villages of the Netophathites.

17 D erëtarët ishin Shallumi, Akubi, Talmoni, Ahimani dhe vëllezërit e tyre; Shalumi ishte i pari i tyre.

The gatekeepers were: Shallum, Akkub, Talmon, Ahiman, and their kinsmen, Shallum being the chief

18 A ta kanë mbetur deri tani derëtarë të kampit të bijve të Levit në portën e mbretit, në drejtim të lindjes.

Who hitherto was assigned to the king’s east side gate. They were the gatekeepers of the camp of the Levites.

19 S halumi, bir i Koreut, bir i Ebiasafit, bir i Korahut, dhe vëllezërit e tij, Korahitët, nga shtëpia e atit të tij, ishin të ngarkuar me punën e shërbimit, si derëtarë të tabernakullit; etërit e tyre ishin caktuar në kampin e Zotit si derëtarë.

Shallum son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his kinsmen of his father’s house, the Korahites, were in charge of the work of the service, keepers of the thresholds of the Tent, as their fathers had been in charge of the camp of the Lord, keepers of the entrance.

20 F inehasi, bir i Eleazarit, kishte qenë në të kaluarën i pari i tyre; dhe Zotit ishte me të.

Phinehas son of Eleazar was ruler over them in times past, and the Lord was with him.

21 Z akaria, bir i Meshelemiahut, ishte derëtar në hyrjen e çadrës së mbledhjeve.

Zechariah son of Meshelemiah was gatekeeper at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting.

22 T ërë ata që u zgjodhën si derëtarë ishin dyqind e dymbëdhjetë veta; ata ishin të regjistruar sipas gjenealogjive në fshatrat e tyre. Davidin dhe Samuelin shikuesi i kishte vendosur në zyrën e tyre.

All these chosen to be keepers at the thresholds were 212. These were enrolled by their genealogies in their villages, these men David and Samuel the seer had established to their office of trust.

23 A ta dhe bijtë e tyre mbanin përgjegjësinë e ruajtjes së portave të shtëpisë së Zotit, domethënë të shtëpisë së tabernakullit, si derëtarë.

So they and their sons had oversight of the gates of the Lord’s house, that is, the house of the tabernacle, by wards.

24 K ishte derëtarë në të katër pikat e horizontit: në lindje, në perëndim, në veri dhe në jug.

The gatekeepers were stationed on the four sides —on the east, west, north, and south.

25 V ëllezërit e tyre, që banonin në fshatrat e tyre, duhet të vinin herë pas here për të qëndruar me ta shtatë ditë,

Their brethren in their villages were to come in every seven days to be with them.

26 s epse katër derëtarët kryesorë, që ishin Levitë, ishin gjithnjë në detyrë. Ata merreshin gjithashtu me mbikqyrjen e dhomave dhe të thesarëve të shtëpisë së Perëndisë;

But these Levites, the four chief gatekeepers, were in charge of the chambers and treasuries of the house of God.

27 b anonin në afërsitë e shtëpisë së Perëndisë, sepse atyre u ishte besuar ruajtja e saj, si dhe hapja e saj çdo mëngjes.

They lodged round about God’s house, for the duty was theirs, as well as the opening of the house every morning.

28 D isa prej tyre ishin përgjegjës për objektet që përdoreshin në shërbimin e tempullit, dhe ata i numëronin kur i çonin brenda dhe kur i çonin jashtë.

Some of them had charge of the serving utensils, being required to count them when they brought them in or took them out.

Some of them also were appointed over the furniture and over all the sacred utensils, as well as over the fine flour, wine, oil, frankincense, and spices.

Other sons of the priests prepared the ointment of spices.

31 M atithiahu, një prej Levitëve, i parëlinduri i Shalumit, Korahiti, ishte përgjegjës për gjërat që gatuheshin në tigane.

Mattithiah, one of the Levites, the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, was responsible for the things baked in pans.

32 D isa nga vëllezërit e tyre midis Kehathitëve ishin të ngarkuar përkundrazi të përgatisnin çdo të shtunë bukët e paraqitjes.

Of their Kohathite kinsmen, some were to prepare the showbread every Sabbath.

33 K ëta ishin këngëtarë, të parë të shtëpive atërore të Levitëve, që banonin në dhomat e tempullit; ata ishin të përjashtuar nga çdo shërbim tjetër, sepse ishin të zënë ditë e natë me punën e tyre.

These are the singers, heads of the fathers’ houses of the Levites, dwelling in the temple chambers, free from other service because they were on duty day and night.

34 K ëta ishin të parët e shtëpive atërore të Levitëve, të parë sipas brezave të tyre; ata banonin në Jeruzalem.

These were heads of fathers’ houses of the Levites, according to their generations, chief men, who lived in Jerusalem.

35 N ë Gabaon banonin Jejeli, ati i Gabaonit, gruaja e të cilit quhej Maakah.

In Gibeon dwelt the father of Gibeon, Jeiel, whose wife’s name was Maacah,

36 I parëlinduri i tij ishte Abdoni, pastaj erdhën Tsuri, Kishi, Baali, Neri, Nadabi,

His firstborn son Abdon, then Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner, Nadab,

37 G edori, Ahio, Zakaria dhe Miklothi.

Gedor, Ahio, Zechariah, and Mikloth.

38 M iklothit i lindi Shimeami. Edhe këta banonin përballë vëllezërve të tyre në Jeruzalem së bashku me vëllezërit e tyre.

Mikloth was the father of Shimeam. They also dwelt beside their brethren, opposite their kinsmen in Jerusalem.

39 N erit i lindi Kishi, Kishit i lindi Sauli dhe Saulit i lindën Jonathani, Malkishua, Abinadabi dhe Eshbaali.

Ner was the father of Kish, Kish of Saul, Saul of Jonathan, Malchi-shua, Abinadab, and Esh-baal.

40 B iri i Jonathanit ishte Merib-Baali dhe Merib-Baalit i lindi Mikahu.

The son of Jonathan was Merib-baal (Mephibosheth); Merib-baal was the father of Micah.

41 B ijtë e Mikahut ishin Pitoni, Meleku, Tahrea dhe Ashazi.

The sons of Micah: Pithon, Melech, Tahrea, and Ahaz.

42 A shazit i lindi Jarahu; Jarahut i lindën Alemethi, Azmavethi dhe Zimri, Zimrit i lindi Motsa.

Ahaz was the father of Jarah, and Jarah of Alemeth, Azmaveth, and Zimri; Zimri was the father of Moza,

43 M otsas i lindi Binea, bir i të cilit ishte Refaihu, bir i të cilit ishte Eleasahu, bir i të cilit ishte Atseli.

Moza of Binea; Rephaiah was his son, Eleasah his son, Azel his son.

44 A tseli pati gjashtë djem, dhe këta ishin emrat e tyre: Azriksani, Bokeru, Ismaeli, Sheariahu, Obadiahu dhe Hanani. Këta qenë bijtë e Atselit.

Azel had six sons: Azrikam, Bocheru, Ishmael, Sheariah, Obadiah, and Hanan. These were the sons of Azel.
