1 A nuk bërtet vallë dituria dhe maturia a nuk e bën zërin e saj të dëgjohet?

Does not skillful and godly Wisdom cry out, and understanding raise her voice ?

2 A jo qëndron në këmbë mbi majën e lartësive, gjatë rrugës, në kryqëzimet e rrugëve;

On the top of the heights beside the way, where the paths meet, stands Wisdom;

3 b ërtet pranë portave, në hyrje të qyteteve, në prag të dyerve;

At the gates at the entrance of the town, at the coming in at the doors, she cries out:

4 " Ju drejtohem juve, o njerëz dhe zëri im u drejtohet bijve të njeriut.

To you, O men, I call, and my voice is directed to the sons of men.

5 K uptoni, o njerëz të thjeshtë, maturinë, dhe ju, njerëz pa mend, kini një zemër të urtë.

O you simple and thoughtless ones, understand prudence; you fools, be of an understanding heart.

6 M ë dëgjoni, sepse do të flas për gjëra të rëndësishme dhe buzët e mia do të hapen për të thënë gjëra të drejta.

Hear, for I will speak excellent and princely things; and the opening of my lips shall be for right things.

7 S epse goja ime do të shpallë të vërtetën; pabesia është e neveritshme për buzët e mia.

For my mouth shall utter truth, and wrongdoing is detestable and loathsome to my lips.

8 T ë gjitha fjalët e gojës sime janë të drejta, në to nuk ka asgjë të shtrembër dhe të çoroditur.

All the words of my mouth are righteous (upright and in right standing with God); there is nothing contrary to truth or crooked in them.

9 J anë të gjitha të drejta për atë që ka mend dhe për ata që kanë gjetur dijen.

They are all plain to him who understands, and right to those who find knowledge.

10 P ranoni mësimin tim dhe jo argjendin, dijen në vend të arit të zgjedhur,

Receive my instruction in preference to silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold,

11 s epse dituria vlen më tepër se margaritarët, të gjitha gjërat që dikush mund dikush të dëshiroje nuk barazohen me të.

For skillful and godly Wisdom is better than rubies or pearls, and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

12 U në, dituria, rri me maturinë dhe e gjej dijen në meditim.

I, Wisdom, make prudence my dwelling, and I find out knowledge and discretion.

13 F rika e Zotit është të urresh të keqen; unë e urrej kryelartësinë, arrogancën, rrugën e keqe dhe gojën e çoroditur.

The reverent fear and worshipful awe of the Lord the hatred of evil; pride, arrogance, the evil way, and perverted and twisted speech I hate.

14 M ua më takon mendimi dhe dituria e vërtetë; unë jam zgjuarsia, mua më përket forca.

I have counsel and sound knowledge, I have understanding, I have might and power.

15 N ëpërmjet meje mbretërojnë mbretërit dhe princat vendosin drejtësinë.

By me kings reign and rulers decree justice.

16 N ëpërmjet meje qeverisin krerët, fisnikët, tërë gjykatësit e tokës.

By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges and governors of the earth.

17 U në i dua ata që më duan, dhe ata që më kërkojnë me kujdes më gjejnë.

I love those who love me, and those who seek me early and diligently shall find me.

18 M e mua janë pasuria dhe lavdia, pasuria që zgjat dhe drejtësia.

Riches and honor are with me, enduring wealth and righteousness (uprightness in every area and relation, and right standing with God).

19 F ryti im është më i mirë se ari, po, se ari i kulluar, dhe prodhimi im më tepër se argjendi i zgjedhur.

My fruit is better than gold, yes, than refined gold, and my increase than choice silver.

20 U në eci në rrugën e drejtësisë, në mes të shtigjeve të drejtësisë,

I walk in the way of righteousness (moral and spiritual rectitude in every area and relation), in the midst of the paths of justice,

21 p ër t’i bërë ata që më duan të trashëgojnë pasurinë e vërtetë dhe për të mbushur thesaret e tyre.

That I may cause those who love me to inherit riches and that I may fill their treasuries.

22 Z oti më zotëroi në fillim të rrugës së tij, përpara veprave të tij më të lashta.

The Lord formed and brought me forth at the beginning of His way, before His acts of old.

23 U vendosa nga amshimi, që në krye, para se toka të ekzistonte.

I was inaugurated and ordained from everlasting, from the beginning, before ever the earth existed.

24 M ë prodhuan kur nuk kishte ende humnera, kur nuk kishte burime me ujë të bollshëm.

When there were no deeps, I was brought forth, when there were no fountains laden with water.

25 M ë prodhuan para se themelet e maleve të ishin përforcuar, para kodrinave,

Before the mountains were settled, before the hills, I was brought forth,

26 k ur nuk kishte sajuar ende as tokën, as fushat dhe as plisat e para të dheut.

While as yet He had not made the land or the fields or the first of the dust of the earth.

27 K ur ai fiksonte qiejtë, unë isha aty; kur bënte një rreth mbi sipërfaqen e humnerës,

When He prepared the heavens, I was there; when He drew a circle upon the face of the deep and stretched out the firmament over it,

28 k ur i bënte të qëndrueshëm qiejtë e epërm, kur përforconte burimet e humnerës,

When He made firm the skies above, when He established the fountains of the deep,

29 k ur i caktonte detit caqet e tij në mënyrë që ujërat të mos kalonin përtej urdhërit të tij, kur vendoste themelet e dheut,

When He gave to the sea its limit and His decree that the waters should not transgress His command, when He appointed the foundations of the earth—

30 u në isha pranë tij si një arkitekt, isha çdo ditë kënaqësia e tij, duke u gëzuar çdo çast para tij;

Then I was beside Him as a master and director of the work; and I was daily His delight, rejoicing before Him always,

31 k ënaqesha në pjesën e banueshme të botës dhe gjeja ëndjen time me bijtë e njerëzve.

Rejoicing in His inhabited earth and delighting in the sons of men.

32 T ani, pra, më dëgjoni, o bij; lum ata që ndjekin rrugët e mia!

Now therefore listen to me, O you sons; for blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are those who keep my ways.

33 D ëgjoni këto mësime, tregohuni të urtë dhe mos i hidhni poshtë!

Hear instruction and be wise, and do not refuse or neglect it.

34 L um ai njeri që më dëgjon, duke u gdhirë çdo ditë te portat e mia dhe duke ruajtur shtalkat e portave të mia.

Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

35 S epse ai që më gjen, gjen jetën, dhe siguron përkrahjen e Zotit.

For whoever finds me finds life and draws forth and obtains favor from the Lord.

36 P or ai që mëkaton kundër meje, i bën të keqe vetvetes; të gjithë ata që më urrejnë duan vdekjen".

But he who misses me or sins against me wrongs and injures himself; all who hate me love and court death.
