1 L um ai që kujdeset për të varfërin; Zoti do ta çlirojë ditën e fatkeqësisë.

Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is he who considers the weak and the poor; the Lord will deliver him in the time of evil and trouble.

2 Z oti do ta ruajë dhe do ta mbajë të gjallë; ai do të jetë i lumtur mbi tokë dhe ti nuk do ta lësh në duart e armiqve të tij.

The Lord will protect him and keep him alive; he shall be called blessed in the land; and You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies.

3 Z oti do ta ndihmojë në shtratin e sëmundjes; gjatë sëmundjes së tij, o Zot, ti do ta transformosh plotësisht shtratin e tij.

The Lord will sustain, refresh, and strengthen him on his bed of languishing; all his bed You will turn, change, and transform in his illness.

4 U në kam thënë: "O Zot, ki mëshirë për mua, ma shëro shpirtin, sepse kam mëkatuar kundër teje".

I said, Lord, be merciful and gracious to me; heal my inner self, for I have sinned against You.

5 A rmiqtë e mi ndjellin të keqen, duke thënë: "Kur do të vdesë dhe kur do të zhduket emri i tij?".

My enemies speak evil of me,, When will he die and his name perish?

6 N ë rast se dikush prej tyre vjen të më shikojë, gënjen, ndërsa zemra e tij mbledh paudhësi; pastaj del jashtë dhe e përhap rreth e rrotull.

And when one comes to see me, he speaks falsehood and empty words, while his heart gathers mischievous gossip; when he goes away, he tells it abroad.

7 T ë gjithë ata që më urrejnë, pëshpëritin bashkë kundër meje; kundër meje kurdisin të keqen,

All who hate me whisper together about me; against me do they devise my hurt.

8 d uke thënë: "Një e keqe e tmerrshme e ka zënë dhe ai nuk do të ngrihet kurrë më nga vendi ku dergjet".

An evil disease, say they, is poured out upon him and cleaves fast to him; and now that he is bedfast, he will not rise up again.

9 M adje edhe miku im i ngushtë, tek i cili kisha besim dhe që hante bukën time, ka ngritur kundër meje thembrën e tij.

Even my own familiar friend, in whom I trusted (relied on and was confident), who ate of my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.

10 P or ti, o Zot, ki mëshirë për mua dhe më ço në këmbë që të mund t’ua shpaguaj.

But You, O Lord, be merciful and gracious to me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.

11 N ga kjo e di që ti më pëlqen, në rast se armiku im nuk triumfon mbi mua.

By this I know that You favor and delight in me, because my enemy does not triumph over me.

12 S a për mua, më ke përkrahur në ndershmërinë time dhe më ke vendosur në praninë tënde për gjithnjë.

And as for me, You have upheld me in my integrity and set me in Your presence forever.

13 Q oftë i bekuar Zoti, Perëndia i Izraelit, përjetë. Amen, amen.
