1 D ituria ka ndërtuar shtëpinë e saj, ka gdhendur shtatë shtyllat e saj.

Wisdom has built her house; she has hewn out and set up her seven pillars.

2 K a vrarë kafshët e saj, ka përzier verën e saj dhe shtruar tryezën e saj.

She has killed her beasts, she has mixed her wine; she has also set her table.

3 K a dërguar jashtë shërbëtoret e saj; nga vendet më të larta të qytetit ajo thërret:

She has sent out her maids to cry from the highest places of the town:

4 " Ai që është budalla të vijë këtu!". Atij që i mungon gjykimi i thotë:

Whoever is simple (easily led astray and wavering), let him turn in here! As for him who lacks understanding, Wisdom says to him,

5 " Ejani, hani nga buka ime dhe pini verën që kam përzier.

Come, eat of my bread and drink of the wine which I have mixed.

6 L ëreni budallallëkun dhe do të jetoni, ecni në rrugën e arsyes".

Leave off, simple ones and live! And walk in the way of insight and understanding.

7 A i që korrigjon tallësin tërheq mbi vete të shara, dhe ai që qorton të pabesin merr të shara.

He who rebukes a scorner heaps upon himself abuse, and he who reproves a wicked man gets for himself bruises.

8 M os qorto tallësin sepse ai do të të urrejë; qorto të urtin dhe ai do të të dojë.

Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you.

9 M ësoje të urtin dhe ai do të bëhet edhe më i urtë. Mësoje të drejtin dhe ai do të rritë diturinë e tij.

Give instruction to a wise man and he will be yet wiser; teach a righteous man (one upright and in right standing with God) and he will increase in learning.

10 F rika e Zotit është parimi i diturisë, dhe njohja e të Shenjtit është zgjuarsia.

The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning (the chief and choice part) of Wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight and understanding.

11 S epse nëpërmjet meje do të shumohen ditët e tua dhe do të të shtohen vite jete.

For by me your days shall be multiplied, and the years of your life shall be increased.

12 N ë rast se je i urtë, je i urtë për veten tënde; në rast se je tallës, pasojat do t’i kesh vetëm ti.

If you are wise, you are wise for yourself; if you scorn, you alone will bear it and pay the penalty.

13 G ruaja budallaqe është zhurmëmadhe, aspak e zgjuar dhe nuk di asgjë.

The foolish woman is noisy; she is simple and open to all forms of evil, she knows nothing whatever.

14 R ri ulur te porta e shtëpisë së saj, mbi një fron në vendet e larta të qytetit,

For she sits at the door of her house or on a seat in the conspicuous places of the town,

15 p ër të ftuar ata që kalojnë nëpër rrugë, që shkojnë drejt në rrugën e tyre:

Calling to those who pass by, who go uprightly on their way:

16 " Ai që është budalla të vijë këtu!". Dhe atij që i mungon arsyeja i thotë:

Whoever is simple (wavering and easily led astray), let him turn in here! And as for him who lacks understanding, she says to him,

17 " Ujërat e vjedhura janë të ëmbla; buka që hahet fshehurazi është e shijshme".

Stolen waters (pleasures) are sweet; and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.

18 P or ai nuk e di që atje janë të vdekurit, që të ftuarit e saj janë në thellësinë e Sheolit.

But he knows not that the shades of the dead are there, and that her invited guests are in the depths of Sheol (the lower world, Hades, the place of the dead).
