1 Б лажен тот, кто о слабом заботится, во время беды избавит его Господь.

Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is he who considers the weak and the poor; the Lord will deliver him in the time of evil and trouble.

2 Г осподь сохранит его и сбережет ему жизнь, счастьем одарит его на земле и не отдаст его на произвол врагов.

The Lord will protect him and keep him alive; he shall be called blessed in the land; and You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies.

3 Г осподь укрепит его на одре болезни, и с ложа недуга его поднимет.

The Lord will sustain, refresh, and strengthen him on his bed of languishing; all his bed You will turn, change, and transform in his illness.

4 Я сказал: «Помилуй меня, Господь; исцели меня – я пред Тобой согрешил».

I said, Lord, be merciful and gracious to me; heal my inner self, for I have sinned against You.

5 В раги мои зло говорят обо мне: «Когда же умрет он и имя его погибнет?»

My enemies speak evil of me,, When will he die and his name perish?

6 Е сли приходит кто навестить меня, то ложь говорит, а в сердце своем слагает злые слухи; потом он выходит и всем их рассказывает.

And when one comes to see me, he speaks falsehood and empty words, while his heart gathers mischievous gossip; when he goes away, he tells it abroad.

7 В се враги мои шепчутся против меня, думают худшее обо мне:

All who hate me whisper together about me; against me do they devise my hurt.

8 « Смертельный недуг его одолел; он слег и больше ему не встать».

An evil disease, say they, is poured out upon him and cleaves fast to him; and now that he is bedfast, he will not rise up again.

9 Д аже близкий друг, на которого я полагался, тот, кто ел мой хлеб, поднял свою пяту против меня.

Even my own familiar friend, in whom I trusted (relied on and was confident), who ate of my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.

10 Н о Ты, Господи, помилуй меня; подними меня, и я воздам им!

But You, O Lord, be merciful and gracious to me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.

11 И з того я узнаю, что угоден Тебе, если враг мой не превозможет меня,

By this I know that You favor and delight in me, because my enemy does not triumph over me.

12 а меня Ты поддержишь за непорочность мою и поставишь пред Собою навеки. Заключительное благословение первой книги

And as for me, You have upheld me in my integrity and set me in Your presence forever.

13 Б лагословен Господь, Бог Израиля, от века и до века! Аминь и аминь!

Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting and to everlasting! Amen and Amen (so be it).
