1 Н аходясь в желудке рыбы, Иона помолился Господу, своему Богу.

Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from the fish’s belly,

2 О н сказал: – В горе я к Господу воззвал, и Он ответил мне. Я закричал – Ты услышал мой крик из глубин мира мертвых.

And said, I cried out of my distress to the Lord, and He heard me; out of the belly of Sheol cried I, and You heard my voice.

3 Т ы в пучину меня вверг, в самое сердце морей; окружили меня потоки. Все Твои волны, все Твои валы надо мной прошли.

For You cast me into the deep, into the heart of the seas, and the floods surrounded me; all Your waves and Your billows passed over me.

4 Я сказал: «Изгнан я от глаз Твоих; однако я вновь увижу святой храм Твой».

Then I said, I have been cast out of Your presence and Your sight; yet I will look again toward Your holy temple.

5 В оды надо мной сомкнулись, бездна меня обступила, и водоросли голову оплели.

The waters compassed me about, even to life; the abyss surrounded me, the seaweed was wrapped about my head.

6 Н а дно к самым корням гор я нисшел, засовы земли закрылись за мной навек, но Ты, Господи, Бог мой, извлек меня из ямы живым!

I went down to the bottoms and the very roots of the mountains; the earth with its bars closed behind me forever. Yet You have brought up my life from the pit and corruption, O Lord my God.

7 К огда жизнь угасала во мне, я Господа вспомнил, и дошла молитва моя к Тебе в святой храм Твой.

When my soul fainted upon me, I earnestly and seriously remembered the Lord; and my prayer came to You, into Your holy temple.

8 Т е, кто ничтожных идолов чтит, лишились милости, что могли получить.

Those who pay regard to false, useless, and worthless idols forsake their own mercy and loving-kindness.

9 А я с хвалебными песнями буду жертвы Тебе приносить. Что обещал – исполню. Спасение – от Господа!

But as for me, I will sacrifice to You with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that which I have vowed. Salvation and deliverance belong to the Lord!

10 Г осподь повелел рыбе, и она изрыгнула Иону на сушу.

And the Lord spoke to the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
