1 И вот дракон встал на берегу моря. Зверь из моря Тут я увидел, как из моря поднимается зверь, у которого десять рогов и семь голов. На рогах его – десять венцов, а на головах написаны кощунственные имена.

I stood on the sandy beach, I saw a beast coming up out of the sea with ten horns and seven heads. On his horns he had ten royal crowns (diadems) and blasphemous titles (names) on his heads.

2 З верь, которого я видел, был похож на леопарда, но у него были медвежьи лапы и львиная пасть. Дракон дал зверю свою силу, свой трон и свою власть.

And the beast that I saw resembled a leopard, but his feet were like those of a bear and his mouth was like that of a lion. And to him the dragon gave his might and power and his throne and great dominion.

3 О дна из голов зверя, казалось, получила смертельную рану, но эта рана зажила. И все жители земли в изумлении пошли за зверем.

And one of his heads seemed to have a deadly wound. But his death stroke was healed; and the whole earth went after the beast in amazement and admiration.

4 О ни поклонились дракону за то, что тот дал зверю такую власть. Они поклонились зверю и говорили: – Разве еще есть кто-то подобный этому зверю? И кто может с ним сразиться?!

They fell down and paid homage to the dragon, because he had bestowed on the beast all his dominion and authority; they also praised and worshiped the beast, exclaiming, Who is a match for the beast, and, Who can make war against him?

5 З верю было дано говорить надменные и кощунственные слова, и ему было позволено властвовать сорок два месяца.

And the beast was given the power of speech, uttering boastful and blasphemous words, and he was given freedom to exert his authority and to exercise his will during forty-two months (three and a half years).

6 О н раскрыл свою пасть, чтобы клеветать на Бога, на Его Имя, на Его жилище и на всех жителей неба.

And he opened his mouth to speak slanders against God, blaspheming His name and His abode, those who live in heaven.

7 Е му была дана также власть вести войну со святыми и победить их. Он получил власть над всяким родом и племенем, языком и народом.

He was further permitted to wage war on God’s holy people (the saints) and to overcome them. And power was given him to extend his authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation,

8 И поклонятся ему все жители земли, кроме тех, чьи имена записаны еще от создания мира в книге жизни у Ягненка, Который был принесен в жертву.

And all the inhabitants of the earth will fall down in adoration and pay him homage, everyone whose name has not been recorded in the Book of Life of the Lamb that was slain from the foundation of the world.

9 Е сли у кого есть уши, пусть услышит!

If anyone is able to hear, let him listen:

10 К ому суждено идти в плен, тот пойдет в плен, и кому суждено быть убитым мечом, тот будет убит мечом. От святых требуется терпение и вера. Зверь из земли

Whoever leads into captivity will himself go into captivity; if anyone slays with the sword, with the sword must he be slain. Herein is the patience and the faith and fidelity of the saints (God’s people).

11 П отом я увидел другого зверя. Он выходил из земли, и у него было два рога, как у ягненка, но говорил он, как дракон.

Then I saw another beast rising up out of the land; he had two horns like a lamb, and he spoke (roared) like a dragon.

12 О н наделен всей властью первого зверя и действует от его имени. Он заставляет всех жителей земли поклониться первому зверю, у которого зажила смертельная рана.

He exerts all the power and right of control of the former beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell upon it to exalt and deify the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed, and to worship him.

13 О н совершает великие чудеса и даже сводит огонь с небес на глазах у людей.

He performs great signs (startling miracles), even making fire fall from the sky to the earth in men’s sight.

14 Э тими чудесами, которые ему было дано совершить от имени зверя, он обманывает жителей земли. Он сказал им, чтобы они воздвигли изображение зверя, который был смертельно ранен мечом, но выжил.

And because of the signs (miracles) which he is allowed to perform in the presence of the beast, he deceives those who inhabit the earth, commanding them to erect a statue (an image) in the likeness of the beast who was wounded by the sword and still lived.

15 Э тому второму зверю было дано вдохнуть жизнь в изображение зверя, чтобы оно смогло говорить и действовать так, чтобы был казнен всякий, кто не поклонится изображению зверя.

And he is permitted to impart the breath of life into the beast’s image, so that the statue of the beast could actually talk and cause to be put to death those who would not bow down and worship the image of the beast.

16 Е ще он устраивает так, чтобы все люди, малые и великие, богатые и бедные, свободные и рабы, получили клеймо на свою правую руку или на лоб.

Also he compels all, both small and great, both the rich and the poor, both free and slave, to be marked with an inscription '> stamped] on their right hands or on their foreheads,

17 В се, кто не имеет такого клейма, не могут больше ничего ни купить, ни продать. Клеймо – это имя зверя или число, обозначающее его имя.

So that no one will have power to buy or sell unless he bears the stamp (mark, inscription), the name of the beast or the number of his name.

18 З десь нужна мудрость. Тот, кто наделен разумом, пусть высчитает число зверя, потому что это число человека. И число его 666.

Here is discernment '> of interpretation]. Let anyone who has intelligence (penetration and insight enough) calculate the number of the beast, for it is a human number; his number is 666.
