1 О Господи, Бог отмщения, Бог отмщения, яви Себя!

O Lord God, You to Whom vengeance belongs, O God, You to Whom vengeance belongs, shine forth!

2 П однимись, Судья вселенной, воздай гордым по их делам.

Rise up, O Judge of the earth; render to the proud a fit compensation!

3 Г осподи, как долго еще? Как долго еще нечестивые будут торжествовать?

Lord, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph and exult?

4 О ни произносят свои дерзкие речи; превозносятся все злодеи.

They pour out arrogant words, speaking hard things; all the evildoers boast loftily.

5 О ни сокрушают Твой народ и угнетают Твое наследие.

They crush Your people, O Lord, and afflict Your heritage.

6 О ни убивают вдов и чужеземцев, и умерщвляют сирот,

They slay the widow and the transient stranger and murder the unprotected orphan.

7 и говорят: «Господь не увидит, и не обратит внимание Бог Иакова».

Yet they say, The Lord does not see, neither does the God of Jacob notice it.

8 О бразумьтесь, глупые люди! Когда вы поумнеете, невежды?

Consider and understand, you stupid ones among the people! And you fools, when will you become wise?

9 Д авший ухо разве не услышит? Сотворивший глаз разве не увидит?

He Who planted the ear, shall He not hear? He Who formed the eye, shall He not see?

10 Н аказывающий народы разве не обличит? Он учит человека знанию,

He Who disciplines and instructs the nations, shall He not punish, He Who teaches man knowledge?

11 п оэтому знает человеческие помыслы, Господь знает, что они – всего лишь суета.

The Lord knows the thoughts of man, that they are vain (empty and futile—only a breath).

12 Б лагословен человек, которого Ты, Господи, наставляешь и учишь Своему Закону,

Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man whom You discipline and instruct, O Lord, and teach out of Your law,

13 ч тобы дать ему покой в дни бедствия, пока не выкопана будет яма нечестивому.

That You may give him power to keep himself calm in the days of adversity, until the pit of corruption is dug for the wicked.

14 В едь не покинет Господь народа Своего и наследия Своего не бросит.

For the Lord will not cast off nor spurn His people, neither will He abandon His heritage.

15 С уд возвратится к справедливости, и все правые сердцем последуют ему.

For justice will return to the righteous, and all the upright in heart will follow it.

16 К то постоит за меня против нечестивых? И кто встанет за меня против злодеев?

Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

17 Е сли бы не был Господь мне помощником, поселилась бы моя душа в земле молчания.

Unless the Lord had been my help, I would soon have dwelt in silence.

18 К огда я сказал: «Колеблется моя нога», Твоя милость, Господи, поддержала меня.

When I said, My foot is slipping, Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, held me up.

19 С реди многих моих скорбей Твое утешение радует душу мою.

In the multitude of my thoughts within me, Your comforts cheer and delight my soul!

20 С танет ли близ Тебя престол губителей, издающий несправедливые законы?

Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with You—they who frame and hide their unrighteous doings under law?

21 Т олпятся они вокруг души праведника и осуждают невинную кровь.

They band themselves together against the life of the righteous and condemn the innocent to death.

22 Н о Господь – моя защита, и мой Бог – скала моего убежища.

But the Lord has become my High Tower and Defense, and my God the Rock of my refuge.

23 О братит на них их же злодеяние и в их же беззаконии истребит их; истребит их Господь, наш Бог.

And He will turn back upon them their own iniquity and will wipe them out by means of their own wickedness; the Lord our God will wipe them out.
