1 J ehová, Dios de las venganzas, Dios de las venganzas, muéstrate.

O Lord God, You to Whom vengeance belongs, O God, You to Whom vengeance belongs, shine forth!

2 E ngrandécete, oh Juez de la tierra; Da el pago a los soberbios.

Rise up, O Judge of the earth; render to the proud a fit compensation!

3 ¿ Hasta cuándo los impíos, Hasta cuándo, oh Jehová, se gozarán los impíos?

Lord, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph and exult?

4 ¿ Hasta cuándo pronunciarán, hablarán cosas duras, Y se vanagloriarán todos los que hacen iniquidad?

They pour out arrogant words, speaking hard things; all the evildoers boast loftily.

5 A tu pueblo, oh Jehová, quebrantan, Y a tu heredad afligen.

They crush Your people, O Lord, and afflict Your heritage.

6 A la viuda y al extranjero matan, Y a los huérfanos quitan la vida.

They slay the widow and the transient stranger and murder the unprotected orphan.

7 Y dijeron: No verá JAH, Ni entenderá el Dios de Jacob.

Yet they say, The Lord does not see, neither does the God of Jacob notice it.

8 E ntended, necios del pueblo; Y vosotros, fatuos, ¿cuándo seréis sabios?

Consider and understand, you stupid ones among the people! And you fools, when will you become wise?

9 E l que hizo el oído, ¿no oirá? El que formó el ojo, ¿no verá?

He Who planted the ear, shall He not hear? He Who formed the eye, shall He not see?

10 E l que castiga a las naciones, ¿no reprenderá? ¿No sabrá el que enseña al hombre la ciencia?

He Who disciplines and instructs the nations, shall He not punish, He Who teaches man knowledge?

11 J ehová conoce los pensamientos de los hombres, Que son vanidad.

The Lord knows the thoughts of man, that they are vain (empty and futile—only a breath).

12 B ienaventurado el hombre a quien tú, JAH, corriges, Y en tu ley lo instruyes,

Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man whom You discipline and instruct, O Lord, and teach out of Your law,

13 P ara hacerle descansar en los días de aflicción, En tanto que para el impío se cava el hoyo.

That You may give him power to keep himself calm in the days of adversity, until the pit of corruption is dug for the wicked.

14 P orque no abandonará Jehová a su pueblo, Ni desamparará su heredad,

For the Lord will not cast off nor spurn His people, neither will He abandon His heritage.

15 S ino que el juicio será vuelto a la justicia, Y en pos de ella irán todos los rectos de corazón.

For justice will return to the righteous, and all the upright in heart will follow it.

16 ¿ Quién se levantará por mí contra los malignos? ¿Quién estará por mí contra los que hacen iniquidad?

Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

17 S i no me ayudara Jehová, Pronto moraría mi alma en el silencio.

Unless the Lord had been my help, I would soon have dwelt in silence.

18 C uando yo decía: Mi pie resbala, Tu misericordia, oh Jehová, me sustentaba.

When I said, My foot is slipping, Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, held me up.

19 E n la multitud de mis pensamientos dentro de mí, Tus consolaciones alegraban mi alma.

In the multitude of my thoughts within me, Your comforts cheer and delight my soul!

20 ¿ Se juntará contigo el trono de iniquidades Que hace agravio bajo forma de ley?

Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with You—they who frame and hide their unrighteous doings under law?

21 S e juntan contra la vida del justo, Y condenan la sangre inocente.

They band themselves together against the life of the righteous and condemn the innocent to death.

22 M as Jehová me ha sido por refugio, Y mi Dios por roca de mi confianza.

But the Lord has become my High Tower and Defense, and my God the Rock of my refuge.

23 Y él hará volver sobre ellos su iniquidad, Y los destruirá en su propia maldad; Los destruirá Jehová nuestro Dios.

And He will turn back upon them their own iniquity and will wipe them out by means of their own wickedness; the Lord our God will wipe them out.
