1 D ios mío, Dios mío, ¿por qué me has desamparado? ¿Por qué estás tan lejos de mi salvación, y de las palabras de mi clamor?

My God, my God, why have You forsaken me? Why are You so far from helping me, and from the words of my groaning?

2 D ios mío, clamo de día, y no respondes; Y de noche, y no hay para mí reposo.

O my God, I cry in the daytime, but You answer not; and by night I am not silent or find no rest.

3 P ero tú eres santo, Tú que habitas entre las alabanzas de Israel.

But You are holy, O You Who dwell in the praises of Israel.

4 E n ti esperaron nuestros padres; Esperaron, y tú los libraste.

Our fathers trusted in You; they trusted (leaned on, relied on You, and were confident) and You delivered them.

5 C lamaron a ti, y fueron librados; Confiaron en ti, y no fueron avergonzados.

They cried to You and were delivered; they trusted in, leaned on, and confidently relied on You, and were not ashamed or confounded or disappointed.

6 M as yo soy gusano, y no hombre; Oprobio de los hombres, y despreciado del pueblo.

But I am a worm, and no man; I am the scorn of men, and despised by the people.

7 T odos los que me ven me escarnecen; Estiran la boca, menean la cabeza, diciendo:

All who see me laugh at me and mock me; they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,

8 S e encomendó a Jehová; líbrele él; Sálvele, puesto que en él se complacía.

He trusted and rolled himself on the Lord, that He would deliver him. Let Him deliver him, seeing that He delights in him!

9 P ero tú eres el que me sacó del vientre; El que me hizo estar confiado desde que estaba a los pechos de mi madre.

Yet You are He Who took me out of the womb; You made me hope and trust when I was on my mother’s breasts.

10 S obre ti fui echado desde antes de nacer; Desde el vientre de mi madre, tú eres mi Dios.

I was cast upon You from my very birth; from my mother’s womb You have been my God.

11 N o te alejes de mí, porque la angustia está cerca; Porque no hay quien ayude.

Be not far from me, for trouble is near and there is none to help.

12 M e han rodeado muchos toros; Fuertes toros de Basán me han cercado.

Many bulls have surrounded me; strong bulls of Bashan have hedged me in.

13 A brieron sobre mí su boca Como león rapaz y rugiente.

Against me they opened their mouths wide, like a ravening and roaring lion.

14 H e sido derramado como aguas, Y todos mis huesos se descoyuntaron; Mi corazón fue como cera, Derritiéndose en medio de mis entrañas.

I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax; it is softened and melted down within me.

15 C omo un tiesto se secó mi vigor, Y mi lengua se pegó a mi paladar, Y me has puesto en el polvo de la muerte.

My strength is dried up like a fragment of clay pottery; my tongue cleaves to my jaws; and You have brought me into the dust of death.

16 P orque perros me han rodeado; Me ha cercado cuadrilla de malignos; Horadaron mis manos y mis pies.

For dogs they have encompassed me; a company of evildoers has encircled me, they pierced my hands and my feet.

17 C ontar puedo todos mis huesos; Entre tanto, ellos me miran y me observan.

I can count all my bones; gaze at me.

18 R epartieron entre sí mis vestidos, Y sobre mi ropa echaron suertes.

They part my clothing among them and cast lots for my raiment (a long, shirtlike garment, a seamless undertunic). )

19 M as tú, Jehová, no te alejes; Fortaleza mía, apresúrate a socorrerme.

But be not far from me, O Lord; O my Help, hasten to aid me!

20 L ibra de la espada mi alma, Del poder del perro mi vida.

Deliver my life from the sword, my dear life from the power of the dog.

21 S álvame de la boca del león, Y líbrame de los cuernos de los búfalos.

Save me from the lion’s mouth; for You have answered me from the horns of the wild oxen.

22 A nunciaré tu nombre a mis hermanos; En medio de la congregación te alabaré.

I will declare Your name to my brethren; in the midst of the congregation will I praise You.

23 L os que teméis a Jehová, alabadle; Glorificadle, descendencia toda de Jacob, Y temedle vosotros, descendencia toda de Israel.

You who fear (revere and worship) the Lord, praise Him! All you offspring of Jacob, glorify Him. Fear (revere and worship) Him, all you offspring of Israel.

24 P orque no menospreció ni abominó la aflicción del afligido, Ni de él escondió su rostro; Sino que cuando clamó a él, le oyó.

For He has not despised or abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither has He hidden His face from him, but when he cried to Him, He heard.

25 D e ti será mi alabanza en la gran congregación; Mis votos pagaré delante de los que le temen.

My praise shall be of You in the great congregation. I will pay to Him my vows before them who fear (revere and worship) Him.

26 C omerán los humildes, y serán saciados; Alabarán a Jehová los que le buscan; Vivirá vuestro corazón para siempre.

The poor and afflicted shall eat and be satisfied; they shall praise the Lord—they who seek for, inquire of and for Him, and require Him. May your hearts be quickened now and forever!

27 S e acordarán, y se volverán a Jehová todos los confines de la tierra, Y todas las familias de las naciones adorarán delante de ti.

All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations shall bow down and worship before You,

28 P orque de Jehová es el reino, Y él regirá las naciones.

For the kingship and the kingdom are the Lord’s, and He is the ruler over the nations.

29 C omerán y adorarán todos los poderosos de la tierra; Se postrarán delante de él todos los que descienden al polvo, Aun el que no puede conservar la vida a su propia alma.

All the mighty ones upon earth shall eat and worship; all they that go down to the dust shall bow before Him, even he who cannot keep himself alive.

30 L a posteridad le servirá; Esto será contado de Jehová hasta la postrera generación.

Posterity shall serve Him; they shall tell of the Lord to the next generation.

31 V endrán, y anunciarán su justicia; A pueblo no nacido aún, anunciarán que él hizo esto.

They shall come and shall declare His righteousness to a people yet to be born—that He has done it!
