1 D eus meu, Deus meu, por que me desamparaste? por que estás afastado de me auxiliar, e das palavras do meu bramido?

My God, my God, why have You forsaken me? Why are You so far from helping me, and from the words of my groaning?

2 D eus meu, eu clamo de dia, porém tu não me ouves; também de noite, mas não acho sossego.

O my God, I cry in the daytime, but You answer not; and by night I am not silent or find no rest.

3 C ontudo tu és santo, entronizado sobre os louvores de Israel.

But You are holy, O You Who dwell in the praises of Israel.

4 E m ti confiaram nossos pais; confiaram, e tu os livraste.

Our fathers trusted in You; they trusted (leaned on, relied on You, and were confident) and You delivered them.

5 A ti clamaram, e foram salvos; em ti confiaram, e não foram confundidos.

They cried to You and were delivered; they trusted in, leaned on, and confidently relied on You, and were not ashamed or confounded or disappointed.

6 M as eu sou verme, e não homem; opróbrio dos homens e desprezado do povo.

But I am a worm, and no man; I am the scorn of men, and despised by the people.

7 T odos os que me vêem zombam de mim, arreganham os beiços e meneiam a cabeça, dizendo:

All who see me laugh at me and mock me; they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,

8 C onfiou no Senhor; que ele o livre; que ele o salve, pois que nele tem prazer.

He trusted and rolled himself on the Lord, that He would deliver him. Let Him deliver him, seeing that He delights in him!

9 M as tu és o que me tiraste da madre; o que me preservaste, estando eu ainda aos seios de minha mãe.

Yet You are He Who took me out of the womb; You made me hope and trust when I was on my mother’s breasts.

10 N os teus braços fui lançado desde a madre; tu és o meu Deus desde o ventre de minha mãe.

I was cast upon You from my very birth; from my mother’s womb You have been my God.

11 N ão te alongues de mim, pois a angústia está perto, e não há quem acuda.

Be not far from me, for trouble is near and there is none to help.

12 M uitos touros me cercam; fortes touros de Basã me rodeiam.

Many bulls have surrounded me; strong bulls of Bashan have hedged me in.

13 A brem contra mim sua boca, como um leão que despedaça e que ruge.

Against me they opened their mouths wide, like a ravening and roaring lion.

14 C omo água me derramei, e todos os meus ossos se desconjuntaram; o meu coração é como cera, derreteu-se no meio das minhas entranhas.

I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax; it is softened and melted down within me.

15 A minha força secou-se como um caco e a língua se me pega ao paladar; tu me puseste no pó da morte.

My strength is dried up like a fragment of clay pottery; my tongue cleaves to my jaws; and You have brought me into the dust of death.

16 P ois cães me rodeiam; um ajuntamento de malfeitores me cerca; transpassaram-me as mãos e os pés.

For dogs they have encompassed me; a company of evildoers has encircled me, they pierced my hands and my feet.

17 P osso contar todos os meus ossos. Eles me olham e ficam a mirar-me.

I can count all my bones; gaze at me.

18 R epartem entre si as minhas vestes, e sobre a minha túnica lançam sortes.

They part my clothing among them and cast lots for my raiment (a long, shirtlike garment, a seamless undertunic). )

19 M as tu, Senhor, não te alongues de mim; força minha, apressa-te em socorrer-me.

But be not far from me, O Lord; O my Help, hasten to aid me!

20 L ivra-me da espada, e a minha vida do poder do cão.

Deliver my life from the sword, my dear life from the power of the dog.

21 S alva-me da boca do leão, sim, livra-me dos chifres do boi selvagem.

Save me from the lion’s mouth; for You have answered me from the horns of the wild oxen.

22 E ntão anunciarei o teu nome aos meus irmãos; louvar-te-ei no meio da congregação.

I will declare Your name to my brethren; in the midst of the congregation will I praise You.

23 V ós, que temeis ao Senhor, louvai-o; todos vós, filhos de Jacó, glorificai-o; temei-o todos vós, descendência de Israel.

You who fear (revere and worship) the Lord, praise Him! All you offspring of Jacob, glorify Him. Fear (revere and worship) Him, all you offspring of Israel.

24 P orque não desprezou nem abominou a aflição do aflito, nem dele escondeu o seu rosto; antes, quando ele clamou, o ouviu.

For He has not despised or abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither has He hidden His face from him, but when he cried to Him, He heard.

25 D e ti vem o meu louvor na grande congregação; pagarei os meus votos perante os que o temem.

My praise shall be of You in the great congregation. I will pay to Him my vows before them who fear (revere and worship) Him.

26 O s mansos comerão e se fartarão; louvarão ao Senhor os que o buscam. Que o vosso coração viva eternamente!

The poor and afflicted shall eat and be satisfied; they shall praise the Lord—they who seek for, inquire of and for Him, and require Him. May your hearts be quickened now and forever!

27 T odos os limites da terra se lembrarão e se converterão ao Senhor, e diante dele adorarão todas as famílias das nações.

All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations shall bow down and worship before You,

28 P orque o domínio é do Senhor, e ele reina sobre as nações.

For the kingship and the kingdom are the Lord’s, and He is the ruler over the nations.

29 T odos os grandes da terra comerão e adorarão, e todos os que descem ao pó se prostrarão perante ele, os que não podem reter a sua vida.

All the mighty ones upon earth shall eat and worship; all they that go down to the dust shall bow before Him, even he who cannot keep himself alive.

30 A posteridade o servirá; falar-se-á do Senhor ã geração vindoura.

Posterity shall serve Him; they shall tell of the Lord to the next generation.

31 C hegarão e anunciarão a justiça dele; a um povo que há de nascer contarão o que ele fez.

They shall come and shall declare His righteousness to a people yet to be born—that He has done it!
