1 P ermaneça o amor fraternal.

Let love for your fellow believers continue and be a fixed practice with you.

2 N ão vos esqueçais da hospitalidade, porque por ela alguns, sem o saberem, hospedaram anjos.

Do not forget or neglect or refuse to extend hospitality to strangers, for through it some have entertained angels without knowing it.

3 L embrai-vos dos presos, como se estivésseis presos com eles, e dos maltratados, como sendo-o vós mesmos também no corpo.

Remember those who are in prison as if you were their fellow prisoner, and those who are ill-treated, since you also are liable to bodily sufferings.

4 H onrado seja entre todos o matrimônio e o leito sem mácula; pois aos devassos e adúlteros, Deus os julgará.

Let marriage be held in honor (esteemed worthy, precious, of great price, and especially dear) in all things. And thus let the marriage bed be undefiled (kept undishonored); for God will judge and punish the unchaste and adulterous.

5 S eja a vossa vida isenta de ganância, contentando-vos com o que tendes; porque ele mesmo disse: Não te deixarei, nem te desampararei.

Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money and be satisfied with your present; for He Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. not, not, not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let down ( relax My hold on you)! '> Assuredly not!]

6 D e modo que com plena confiança digamos: O Senhor é quem me ajuda, não temerei; que me fará o homem?

So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized with alarm. What can man do to me?

7 L embrai-vos dos vossos guias, os quais vos falaram a palavra de Deus, e, atentando para o êxito da sua carreira, imitai-lhes a fé.

Remember your leaders and superiors in authority who brought to you the Word of God. Observe attentively and consider their manner of living (the outcome of their well-spent lives) and imitate their faith ( their conviction that God exists and is the Creator and Ruler of all things, the Provider and Bestower of eternal salvation through Christ, and their leaning of the entire human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness).

8 J esus Cristo é o mesmo, ontem, e hoje, e eternamente.

Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is the same, yesterday, today, and forever (to the ages).

9 N ão vos deixeis levar por doutrinas várias e estranhas; porque bom é que o coração se fortifique com a graça, e não com alimentos, que não trouxeram proveito algum aos que com eles se preocuparam.

Do not be carried about by different and varied and alien teachings; for it is good for the heart to be established and ennobled and strengthened by means of grace (God’s favor and spiritual blessing) and not foods, which bring no benefit or profit to those who observe them.

10 T emos um altar, do qual não têm direito de comer os que servem ao tabernáculo.

We have an altar from which those who serve and worship in the tabernacle have no right to eat.

11 P orque os corpos dos animais, cujo sangue é trazido para dentro do santo lugar pelo sumo sacerdote como oferta pelo pecado, são queimados fora do arraial.

For when the blood of animals is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest as a sacrifice for sin, the victims’ bodies are burned outside the limits of the camp.

12 P or isso também Jesus, para santificar o povo pelo seu próprio sangue, sofreu fora da porta.

Therefore Jesus also suffered and died outside the gate in order that He might purify and consecrate the people through His own blood and set them apart as holy.

13 S aiamos pois a ele fora do arraial, levando o seu opróbrio.

Let us then go forth to Him outside the camp, bearing the contempt and abuse and shame with Him.

14 P orque não temos aqui cidade permanente, mas buscamos a vindoura.

For here we have no permanent city, but we are looking for the one which is to come.

15 P or ele, pois, ofereçamos sempre a Deus sacrifício de louvor, isto é, o fruto dos lábios que confessam o seu nome.

Through Him, therefore, let us constantly and at all times offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, which is the fruit of lips that thankfully acknowledge and confess and glorify His name.

16 M as não vos esqueçais de fazer o bem e de repartir com outros, porque com tais sacrifícios Deus se agrada.

Do not forget or neglect to do kindness and good, to be generous and distribute and contribute to the needy '> as embodiment and proof of fellowship], for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

17 O bedecei a vossos guias, sendo-lhes submissos; porque velam por vossas almas como quem há de prestar contas delas; para que o façam com alegria e não gemendo, porque isso não vos seria útil.

Obey your spiritual leaders and submit to them, for they are constantly keeping watch over your souls and guarding your spiritual welfare, as men who will have to render an account. let them do this with gladness and not with sighing and groaning, for that would not be profitable to you.

18 O rai por nós, porque estamos persuadidos de que temos boa consciência, sendo desejosos de, em tudo, portar-nos corretamente.

Keep praying for us, for we are convinced that we have a good (clear) conscience, that we want to walk uprightly and live a noble life, acting honorably and in complete honesty in all things.

19 E com instância vos exorto a que o façais, para que eu mais depressa vos seja restituído.

And I beg of you the more earnestly, in order that I may be restored to you the sooner.

20 O ra, o Deus de paz, que pelo sangue do pacto eterno tornou a trazer dentre os mortos a nosso Senhor Jesus, grande pastor das ovelhas,

Now may the God of peace, Who brought again from among the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, by the blood the everlasting agreement (covenant, testament),

21 v os aperfeiçoe em toda boa obra, para fazerdes a sua vontade, operando em nós o que perante ele é agradável, por meio de Jesus Cristo, ao qual seja glória para todo o sempre. Amém.

Strengthen (complete, perfect) and make you what you ought to be and equip you with everything good that you may carry out His will; works in you and accomplishes that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ (the Messiah); to Whom be the glory forever and ever (to the ages of the ages). Amen (so be it).

22 R ogo-vos, porém, irmãos, que suporteis estas palavras de exortação, pois vos escrevi em poucas palavras.

I call on you, brethren, to listen patiently and bear with this message of exhortation and admonition and encouragement, for I have written to you briefly.

23 S abei que o irmão Timóteo já está solto, com o qual, se ele vier brevemente, vos verei.

Notice that our brother Timothy has been released. If he comes here soon, I will see you along with him.

24 S audai a todos os vossos guias e a todos os santos. Os de Itália vos saúdam.

Give our greetings to all of your spiritual leaders and to all of the saints (God’s consecrated believers). The Italian Christians send you their greetings.

Grace (God’s favor and spiritual blessing) be with you all. Amen (so be it).
