1 A o anjo da igreja em Éfeso escreve: Isto diz aquele que tem na sua destra as sete estrelas, que anda no meio dos sete candeeiros de ouro:

To the angel (messenger) of the assembly (church) in Ephesus write: These are the words of Him Who holds the seven stars in His right hand, Who goes about among the seven golden lampstands:

2 C onheço as tuas obras, e o teu trabalho, e a tua perseverança; sei que não podes suportar os maus, e que puseste ã prova os que se dizem apóstolos e não o são, e os achaste mentirosos;

I know your industry and activities, laborious toil and trouble, and your patient endurance, and how you cannot tolerate wicked and have tested and critically appraised those who call apostles (special messengers of Christ) and yet are not, and have found them to be impostors and liars.

3 e tens perseverança e por amor do meu nome sofreste, e não desfaleceste.

I know you are enduring patiently and are bearing up for My name’s sake, and you have not fainted or become exhausted or grown weary.

4 T enho, porém, contra ti que deixaste o teu primeiro amor.

But I have this against you: that you have left (abandoned) the love that you had at first.

5 L embra-te, pois, donde caíste, e arrepende-te, e pratica as primeiras obras; e se não, brevemente virei a ti, e removerei do seu lugar o teu candeeiro, se não te arrependeres.

Remember then from what heights you have fallen. Repent (change the inner man to meet God’s will) and do the works you did previously, or else I will visit you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you change your mind and repent.

6 T ens, porém, isto, que aborreces as obras dos nicolaítas, as quais eu também aborreço.

Yet you have this: you hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I Myself also detest.

7 Q uem tem ouvidos, ouça o que o Espírito diz

He who is able to hear, let him listen to and give heed to what the Spirit says to the assemblies (churches). To him who overcomes (is victorious), I will grant to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

8 A o anjo da igreja em Esmirna escreve: Isto diz o primeiro e o último, que foi morto e reviveu:

And to the angel (messenger) of the assembly (church) in Smyrna write: These are the words of the First and the Last, Who died and came to life again:

9 C onheço a tua tribulação e a tua pobreza (mas tu és rico), e a blasfêmia dos que dizem ser judeus, e não o são, porém são sinagoga de Satanás.

I know your affliction and distress and pressing trouble and your poverty—but you are rich! and how you are abused and reviled and slandered by those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.

10 N ão temas o que hás de padecer. Eis que o Diabo está para lançar alguns de vós na prisão, para que sejais provados; e tereis uma tribulação de dez dias. Sê fiel até a morte, e dar-te-ei a coroa da vida.

Fear nothing that you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is indeed about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested and proved and critically appraised, and for ten days you will have affliction. Be loyally faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.

11 Q uem tem ouvidos, ouça o que o Espírito diz

He who is able to hear, let him listen to and heed what the Spirit says to the assemblies (churches). He who overcomes (is victorious) shall in no way be injured by the second death.

12 A o anjo da igreja em Pérgamo escreve: Isto diz aquele que tem a espada aguda de dois gumes:

Then to the angel (messenger) of the assembly (church) in Pergamum write: These are the words of Him Who has and wields the sharp two-edged sword:

13 S ei onde habitas, que é onde está o trono de Satanás; mas reténs o meu nome e não negaste a minha fé, mesmo nos dias de Antipas, minha fiel testemunha, o qual foi morto entre vós, onde Satanás habita.

I know where you live—a place where Satan sits enthroned. you are clinging to and holding fast My name, and you did not deny My faith, even in the days of Antipas, My witness, My faithful one, who was killed (martyred) in your midst—where Satan dwells.

14 e ntretanto, algumas coisas tenho contra ti; porque tens aí os que seguem a doutrina de Balaão, o qual ensinava Balaque a lançar tropeços diante dos filhos de Israel, introduzindo-os a comerem das coisas sacrificadas a ídolos e a se prostituírem.

Nevertheless, I have a few things against you: you have some people there who are clinging to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to set a trap and a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, to eat food that had been sacrificed to idols and to practice lewdness.

15 A ssim tens também alguns que de igual modo seguem a doutrina dos nicolaítas.

You also have some who in a similar way are clinging to the teaching of the Nicolaitans which thing I hate.

16 A rrepende-te, pois; ou se não, virei a ti em breve, e contra eles batalharei com a espada da minha boca.

Repent! Or else I will come to you quickly and fight against them with the sword of My mouth.

17 Q uem tem ouvidos, ouça o que o Espírito diz

He who is able to hear, let him listen to and heed what the Spirit says to the assemblies (churches). To him who overcomes (conquers), I will give to eat of the manna that is hidden, and I will give him a white stone with a new name engraved on the stone, which no one knows or understands except he who receives it.

18 A o anjo da igreja em Tiatira escreve: Isto diz o Filho de Deus, que tem os olhos como chama de fogo, e os pés semelhantes a latão reluzente:

And to the angel (messenger) of the assembly (church) in Thyatira write: These are the words of the Son of God, Who has eyes that flash like a flame of fire, and Whose feet glow like bright and burnished and white-hot bronze:

19 C onheço as tuas obras, e o teu amor, e a tua fé, e o teu serviço, e a tua perseverança, e sei que as tuas últimas obras são mais numerosas que as primeiras.

I know your record and what you are doing, your love and faith and service and patient endurance, and that your recent works are more numerous and greater than your first ones.

20 M as tenho contra ti que toleras a mulher Jezabel, que se diz profetisa; ela ensina e seduz os meus servos a se prostituírem e a comerem das coisas sacrificdas a ídolos;

But I have this against you: that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, and who is teaching and leading astray my servants and beguiling them into practicing sexual vice and eating food sacrificed to idols.

21 e dei-lhe tempo para que se arrependesse; e ela não quer arrepender-se da sua prostituição.

I gave her time to repent, but she has no desire to repent of her immorality and refuses to do so.

22 E is que a lanço num leito de dores, e numa grande tribulação os que cometem adultério com ela, se não se arrependerem das obras dela;

Take note: I will throw her on a bed '> of anguish], and those who commit adultery with her I will bring down to pressing distress and severe affliction, unless they turn away their minds from conduct hers and repent of their doings.

23 e ferirei de morte a seus filhos, e todas as igrejas saberão que eu sou aquele que esquadrinha os rins e os corações; e darei a cada um de vós segundo as suas obras.

And I will strike her children (her proper followers) dead. And all the assemblies (churches) shall recognize and understand that I am He Who searches minds (the thoughts, feelings, and purposes) and the hearts, and I will give to each of you as your work deserves.

24 D igo-vos, porém, a vós os demais que estão em Tiatira, a todos quantos não têm esta doutrina, e não conhecem as chamadas profundezas de Satanás, que outra carga vos não porei;

But to the rest of you in Thyatira, who do not hold this teaching, who have not explored and known the depths of Satan, as they say—I tell you that I do not lay upon you any other burden:

25 m as o que tendes, retende-o até que eu venha.

Only hold fast to what you have until I come.

26 A o que vencer, e ao que guardar as minhas obras até o fim, eu lhe darei autoridade sobre as nações,

And he who overcomes (is victorious) and who obeys My commands to the end, I will give him authority and power over the nations;

27 e com vara de ferro as regerá, quebrando-as do modo como são quebrados os vasos do oleiro, assim como eu recebi autoridade de meu Pai;

And he shall rule them with a sceptre (rod) of iron, as when earthen pots are broken in pieces, and like that which I Myself have received from My Father;

28 t ambém lhe darei a estrela da manhã.

And I will give him the Morning Star.

29 Q uem tem ouvidos, ouça o que o Espírito dia

He who is able to hear, let him listen to and heed what the Spirit says to the assemblies (churches).
