1 A ti, Senhor, elevo a minha alma.

Unto You, O Lord, do I bring my life.

2 D eus meu, em ti confio; não seja eu envergonhado; não triunfem sobre mim os meus inimigos.

O my God, I trust, lean on, rely on, and am confident in You. Let me not be put to shame or be disappointed; let not my enemies triumph over me.

3 N ão seja envergonhado nenhum dos que em ti esperam; envergonhados sejam os que sem causa procedem traiçoeiramente.

Yes, let none who trust and wait hopefully and look for You be put to shame or be disappointed; let them be ashamed who forsake the right or deal treacherously without cause.

4 F aze-me saber os teus caminhos, Senhor; ensina-me as tuas veredas.

Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths.

5 G uia-me na tua verdade, e ensina-me; pois tu és o Deus da minha salvação; por ti espero o dia todo.

Guide me in Your truth and faithfulness and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; for You do I wait all the day long.

6 L embra-te, Senhor, da tua compaixão e da tua benignidade, porque elas são eternas.

Remember, O Lord, Your tender mercy and loving-kindness; for they have been ever from of old.

7 N ão te lembres dos pecado da minha mocidade, nem das minhas transgressões; mas, segundo a tua misericórdia, lembra-te de mim, pela tua bondade, ó Senhor.

Remember not the sins (the lapses and frailties) of my youth or my transgressions; according to Your mercy and steadfast love remember me, for Your goodness’ sake, O Lord.

8 B om e reto é o Senhor; pelo que ensina o caminho aos pecadores.

Good and upright is the Lord; therefore will He instruct sinners in way.

9 G uia os mansos no que é reto, e lhes ensina o seu caminho.

He leads the humble in what is right, and the humble He teaches His way.

10 T odas as veredas do Senhor são misericórdia e verdade para aqueles que guardam o seu pacto e os seus testemunhos.

All the paths of the Lord are mercy and steadfast love, even truth and faithfulness are they for those who keep His covenant and His testimonies.

11 P or amor do teu nome, Senhor, perdoa a minha iniqüidade, pois é grande.

For Your name’s sake, O Lord, pardon my iniquity and my guilt, for great.

12 Q ual é o homem que teme ao Senhor? Este lhe ensinará o caminho que deve escolher.

Who is the man who reverently fears and worships the Lord? Him shall He teach in the way that he should choose.

13 E le permanecerá em prosperidade, e a sua descendência herdará a terra.

He himself shall dwell at ease, and his offspring shall inherit the land.

14 O conselho do Senhor é para aqueles que o temem, e ele lhes faz saber o seu pacto.

The secret of the Lord have they who fear (revere and worship) Him, and He will show them His covenant and reveal to them its meaning.

15 O s meus olhos estão postos continuamente no Senhor, pois ele tirará do laço os meus pés.

My eyes are ever toward the Lord, for He will pluck my feet out of the net.

16 O lha para mim, e tem misericórdia de mim, porque estou desamparado e aflito.

turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted.

17 A livia as tribulações do meu coração; tira-me das minhas angústias.

The troubles of my heart are multiplied; bring me out of my distresses.

18 O lha para a minha aflição e para a minha dor, e perdoa todos os meus pecados.

Behold my affliction and my pain and forgive all my sins.

19 O lha para os meus inimigos, porque são muitos e me odeiam com ódio cruel.

Consider my enemies, for they abound; they hate me with cruel hatred.

20 G uarda a minha alma, e livra-me; não seja eu envergonhado, porque em ti me refúgio.

O keep me, Lord, and deliver me; let me not be ashamed or disappointed, for my trust and my refuge are in You.

21 A integridade e a retidão me protejam, porque em ti espero.

Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for and expect You.

22 R edime, ó Deus, a Israel de todas as suas angústias.

Redeem Israel, O God, out of all their troubles.
