On the holy hills stands the city God founded.

2 O Senhor ama as portas de Sião mais do que todas as habitações de Jacó.

The Lord loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob (Israel).

3 C oisas gloriosas se dizem de ti, ó cidade de Deus.

Glorious things are spoken of you, O city of God. Selah!

4 F arei menção de Raabe e de Babilônia dentre os que me conhecem; eis que da Filístia, e de Tiro, e da Etiópia, se dirá: Este nasceu ali.

I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon as among those who know —behold, Philistia and Tyre, with Ethiopia (Cush)—, This man was born there.

5 S im, de Sião se dirá: Este e aquele nasceram ali; e o próprio Altíssimo a estabelecerá.

Yes, of Zion it shall be said, This man and that man were born in her, for the Most High Himself will establish her.

6 O Senhor, ao registrar os povos, dirá: Este nasceu ali.

The Lord shall count, when He registers the peoples, that this man was born there. Selah!

7 T anto os cantores como os que tocam instrumentos dirão: Todas as minhas fontes estão em ti.

The singers as well as the players on instruments shall say, All my springs (my sources of life and joy) are in you.
