1 L ouvai ao Senhor! Cantai ao Senhor um cântico novo, e o seu louvor na assembléia dos santos!

Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song, praise Him in the assembly of His saints!

2 A legre-se Israel naquele que o fez; regozijem-se os filhos de Sião no seu Rei.

Let Israel rejoice in Him, their Maker; let Zion’s children triumph and be joyful in their King!

3 L ouvem-lhe o nome com danças, cantem-lhe louvores com adufe e harpa.

Let them praise His name in chorus and choir and with the dance; let them sing praises to Him with the tambourine and lyre!

4 P orque o Senhor se agrada do seu povo; ele adorna os mansos com a salvação.

For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation and adorn the wretched with victory.

5 E xultem de glória os santos, cantem de alegria nos seus leitos.

Let the saints be joyful in the glory and beauty; let them sing for joy upon their beds.

6 E stejam na sua garganta os altos louvores de Deus, e na sua mão espada de dois gumes,

Let the high praises of God be in their throats and a two-edged sword in their hands,

7 p ara exercerem vingança sobre as nações, e castigos sobre os povos;

To wreak vengeance upon the nations and chastisement upon the peoples,

8 p ara prenderem os seus reis com cadeias, e os seus nobres com grilhões de ferro;

To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron,

9 p ara executarem neles o juízo escrito; esta honra será para todos os santos. Louvai ao Senhor!

To execute upon them the judgment written. He is the honor of all His saints. Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)
